one star is too many, walked in tonight, we were never greeted no hello, no thank you for coming, no nothing. the cashier just stood there. after a few minutes of standing at the counter she finally said, «do you have any questions». I had a few questions for which she had no clue. the manager seemed loaded with personality. If this was Ed Debevics, maybe the poor customer service would work.

I have eaten at a number of Corner Bakeries across the US, but this one was a huge disappointment. You come in and the counter staff is draped over the registers like they are having to hold them down so they don’t float away. The two girls are chatting back and forth and act like I am interrupting. It is like they are in a stare down to see which one will breakdown first and talk to me. I would complain to the manager but explaining to another customer why something isn’t her fault and she is just following the GM’s instructions. Maybe they should give this location to someone that actually wants to sell food to customers.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning at 8:15am to pick up a Breakfast Power Flat sandwich to go. If you sign-up for their e-café email list, usually 3 times a year or so you’ll receive a coupon for a free item. The sandwich was good. It was prepared quickly. When it is all wrapped up in the to go bag, the sandwich looks really, really small. At first I thought it was just a half sandwich. But the sandwich has a lot of filling in it.

The Corner Bakery is a middle of the road kinda place to go for lunch. They offer salads, sandwiches, soups, and pasta, and all of our coworkers seem to be able to find something they like. The quality of the food and service is just lukewarm. If I ever get pasta, I get the one with pesto which is a good sauce, but then going up to the counter and asking for parm cheese is always a hassle! I have to wait several minutes before I even get anyone’s attention. Like, how are people supposed to eat pasta without Parmesan cheese?!? Other dishes are just okay for this restaurant chain. I would not recommend getting a salad because the amount of chicken/turkey/yourfavoritemeat is small and the whole salad is just real bland. Soups are good, sandwiches are good, and the desserts are good. However, one big downside is the smaller portions. If you get a soup or a sandwich, expect to leave somewhat hungry. If you work in the area, Corner Bakery is an okay place to go, but I wouldn’t go out of your way to come here.

This place can’t get an order right to save their lives. They have screwed up 3 out of the last 6 trips on my simple order. They have to be the most incompetent staff I have ever encountered.

This is located by the Little Maggiano restaurant. Corner Bakery Café is the sister company. It took some time for us to find this because Oakbrook Center is truly a labyrinth. Finally found it, went in there, and looked at the menu. Where is the beverage menu? In order to conceal my confusion for not being able to locate the menu, I stayed calm and apologized to the clerk who was patiently waiting for me. Fortunately there was no other customer behind me. The beverage menu was on the monitor on the left, but the slides kept on changing. Oh Lord, I couldn’t read that fast. I decided to order the Carmel frappé because that seemed to be a safe choice. The clerk who took our order also made my drink. It tasted good so everything worked out in the end. I didn’t experience any customer service issue except I wish the beverage menu was written on the sold wooden board instead of on the electronic monitor that occasionally fleshed the menu for merely half second.

I love Corner Bakery but NOT this location. Every time I come in here it’s like they have all the part-timers working who don’t care what’s going on. No one is picking up the tables, food everywhere, sometimes there is silver wear, sometimes not and one morning I saw someone in the kitchen using his bare hands scooping food. It was disgusting. This location has the worst service consistently. And this particular day there was a lady waiting for an order where they had messed it all up and she was ANGRY. So I know it wasn’t just me. Step it up Oak Brook!

I’ve only gone for breakfast, so this is just a review for the morning only. First of all, it’s right across the street from The Cheesecake Factory. Also, you will probably have trouble finding it. It says«Maggiano’s Corner Bakery». I went in at about 7:15 am and they weren’t busy yet, though it still took about 10 minutes for my breakfast sandwich and latte. There wasn’t exactly a line for the casher’s station, and I was confused as to where to approach the counter. Anyway, I ordered and stood around for a while. There were many people working in the kitchen, so I’m not 100% sure why it took so long for one sandwich. There was only one other woman there while I was waiting. When it was ready, someone approached the counter and said«Carol?» and left it on the counter. I said«For Caroline?» and she gave me a dirty look. It’s a little out of my way, I just went because I had a coupon. I’ve been to other Corner Bakerys and had positive experiences. Meh, I’ll probably just stick to Starbucks or other cafes nearby next time.

Everything here was delicious. It’s a good place to have a meeting, too. Keep in mind that the sign is «Maggianos» Corner Bakery, so you can miss it if you don’t know this. Two people at our meeting had trouble finding it since«Corner Bakery» was less prominent.

I enjoy the food at Corner Bakery Café. The service is good. The restaurant is almost always busy and crowded. I appreciate the choices of bread and think the pretzel bread is really good. The DC chicken salad is tasty and unique. The lemonade is very good! My very favorite menu item is their chocolate muffin. I cannot believe how good they are! I am always hoping there will be one left for me. After a certain time in the day, their muffins are buy one get one free! I also have found that I really like their crisps that they sell in bags as you wait in line– these are delicious with coffee! Yum. Great food!

I got a pickle. I got a pickle. I got a pickle. hey hey hey HEY. I love sandwiches. I love pickles. Hell, I love any kind of bakery or deli that offers a juicy pickle on the side. It’s the small joys in life that really make the difference and my small joy is pickles. You may think this is the start of a 5-star review, and maybe food(pickle) wise it is. But my cheapness never stops following me around. Even though I’ve worked in Oak Brook for almost two years, I’m still a small town girl unaccustomed to expensive/over-priced things. I’d always thought that Panera was expensive, but Corner Bakery is even more expensive than that. My sandwich and chips cost $ 10 today. *falls over* We’ve gotten catering at work through Corner Bakery hundreds of times before. I always find something to enjoy and can honestly say I’ve never had a bad sandwich. I’ve liked pretty much everything that I’ve tried which is a huge plus for any restaurant. The monster cookies are delicious and can turn a non-chocolate lover like me into a chocolate phene. Today I had the Poblano Fresco Roast Beef sandwich. It’s got roast beef, poblano cheese bread, red peppers, avocado, cheddar cheese, some kind of slaw, lettuce and chipotle mayo. Absolutely 5-star delicious. Every bite was better than the first. I loved the bread the most and want to eat a couple loaves of that alone. Even though the food is really good and– don’t forget about the juicy pickles – I don’t foresee myself becoming a regular, but I’ll make it a habit to stop in once in awhile.

My breakfast review only… I have been to corner bakery many times for lunch(Chicken Salad and the Club Panini are my two favorites) and have always like what I had. Knowing my hotel had an average breakfast available, I decided on Corner Bakery. Looked at the options and decided on the Crunchy Honey Banana Oatmeal. They brought it to my table and it was a great big bowl that looked impressive. It was big enough for two! However, it did not taste as great as it looked. The oatmeal was undercooked and the combination of ingredients for me were a bit off. Well it was an oatmeal dish and when its undercooked, well the dish is ruined. I did not complain and the person that was cleaning up all the other tables noticed I did not really touch my dish. I told him it was undercooked for my liking and he said sorry, picked up my dish, and walked away. Never to be seen again. The coffee was good though…

Come on Corner Bakery, for the prices you charge, you can be better than this. When I worked downtown, I used to love having lunch at your location in the train station. My favorite was the tomato mozzarella sandwich with homemade chips and lemonade. Now, you put this arugula crap on the sandwich instead of fresh basil leaves. You do know that arugula and basil are not the same thing, right? The chips are also like Lays from the bag. No more homemade? The lemonade is still good though. When I went up to the counter to place my order, your 30+ year old order taker dude ignored me because he was too busy checking out the fine young 16 year old who was bending down behind the counter, and actually doing work. Dude stop. You’re creeping me out, and if I were her mother I’d beat the sh** out of you.

A good option for Oak Brook Center shoppers when you just want a «quick bite». The café style setting makes for a low key environment. The menu is sandwich centric… with kid options available. Keep shopping(after you eat)

I have had Corner bakery a couple times since my first visit. The peanut Butter whoopie pies are amazing! I’m not even a big chocolate person and this are out of this world. Get one, get one now. These I didn’t have at Corner bakery I had them given to me. I have been in twice for cinnamon rolls as well. The first time I got the cinnamon roll it was hot and delicious and its like $ 2.79 which is an awesome deal. The person in front of me, however, worried me a bit since she was trying to get a dozen bagels and even though they had just opened they didn’t have 12 bagels she could buy. What? They said she could order them through catering in the future, which is odd since it’s only a dozen bagels. Anyways, I’ve been thinking about that delicious cinnamon roll since last time and today I got to work early so I decided to stop by for one. I ordered my cinnamon roll and the lady said they didn’t have any. It was 7:35 and they open at 7:30. So I asked her how this was possible since there’s no way they could be sold out already and she said they had all been taken for catering. The cinnamon roll was good when I finally got it 20 minutes later, but they really need to have product available to be purchased when they open. This is ridiculous. Also as far as suggestions go, why does this place not open until 7:30? It gets pretty busy as soon as they open so I think they definitely have enough business to justify opening at 6:30. That would also be a lot better for those who want to stop by on their way to work.

Nothing top of the line and, as others have mentioned, it’s a little hard to find, but this is a nice quick dinner spot. I had the Chopped Salad which was fantastic, the taste was excellent and there were plenty of veggies. If you’re in Oakbrook for some shopping/work or you live nearby and want a quick dinner out, I recommend this place whole-heartedly. It’s quiet, the food is good, and everything in the Oakbrook Mall is right out the doors. If you’re a lemonade fan, try their fresh lemonade, it’s a perfect blend of sweet and tart, leaning more to the tart side which I love.

This is one of my regular spots to meet up with my old work buddies. It’s perfectly in the geographic center of where we all live, it’s great! The food is exactly what I would expect from a Corner Bakery — good, fast, and tasty. The DC Chicken Salad is one of my faves and the mixed green salad with the house dressing is pretty darned good. I find that the pickles are pretty consistently good at this location too. It’s tough to find, though, especially if you’ve rarely been to the Oak Brook Terrace complex before. Just simply look for the Maggianos, park when you see it(look for the stripped awnings) and it’s on the right hand side of that overdone Italian eatery. Oddly enough, I found the place packed at the noon hour during the winter, but on a recent visit during a spring day, it was pretty empty and there were a lot of parking spaces to be found. Maybe it was just luck… who knows.
