Corsetières. The name evokes images of another time when lingerie was custom made and designed to make every woman look her best in wonderful lingerie. Well Rigby and Peller(the reincarnation of the Intimacy brand) is named after two such corsetières and they continue to «put the girls in their place» in sizes from A to K and with beautiful fabrics, lace, satin and shimmering ribbons. Originating in London in 1939, the store still has that European custom quality feel from the moment you pull open the door and enter the uncluttered space. It is the epitome of class and elegance without pretense. Know before you go that these works of «bra art» are pricey(the ones I bought ranged from $ 79 to $ 177) but they fit so well and make me look and feel so good that they are worth the price. If you haven’t been to this store, know that the lingerie stylist will first measure you, and then bring several styles to you in the fitting room. They will adjust, tug, move and shimmy you into each bra and help you decide which ones do the best job for your body type. If this makes you uncomfortable, at least have them fit the first one as you will get a much better result with them helping you. My stylist was Filestean, who looked me up on the computer(you can make an appointment on line but they do walk ins as well) already knew my size and previous purchases before I even stepped in the fitting room. She was great, helping me when I needed it and bringing a range of selections to me. They also carry matching panties, tap pants, and bikinis in a wide range of sizes too, as well as swim and night wear. And I love the little touches like bottled water in the fitting room, and a sateen cover up. There is a funny ending to this review and that is I was stopped by a gentleman in the mall as I was approaching my car. He looked at my bag, and then at me and said, «Rigby and Peller? Is that a new golf store? I laughed and said, «No. This store is for an entirely different kind of game». And I got in my car and drove away.
