No way. I bought a pair of suede Steve Maddens from their location in Old Orchard. This was done in a rush(for a wedding) as a possibility and they were never worn. I really only bought them as a cheap and conservative option, and wasn’t in love at all. As a matter of fact, I noticed immediate imperfections in the suede upon buying them, but thought they were just due to the suede being rubbed the wrong way. Once I found a better pair to wear with my dress, I knew I’d be returning these POS shoes. Fast forward to less than a month later. I tried to return these(UNWORN) shoes to Steve Madden at Oak Brook. No exaggeration, the guy behind the counter was giving me the stink eye from the moment I walked in. This was unfortunate for him, since I was considering browsing– I blame a Diet Coke overdose for even entertaining that idea. Anyway, I handed him my shoes, in the box w/original receipt and he immediately began inspecting them. He looked at them, especially the sole, and said: «I can’t resell these, they’ve been worn.» I had not worn them. I told him multiple times. He did not believe me. Idiot. He kept going on and on about how he couldn’t resell them and how he was embarrassed that someone would sell them to me that way. Okay. That’s not my problem. I am returning these shoes, that I bought at retail price, unworn, with a receipt. I followed all of the guidelines. He couldn’t resell them? Maybe they shouldn’t have been sold to me. But this didn’t matter. Bottom line: This guy basically called me a liar to my face. Initially, I was annoyed. Then he proceeded to call the Old Orchard location privately(another very apologetic sales associate told me this) and then came out and told me that I had 2 days to return this(piece of sh&%) pair of shoes there. I explained that I would not have time to do this and he didn’t care. My best friend/lawyer confidant explained to him that there is no difference between these two stores and he shrugged it off. I left infuriated. Hello?! THISISNOTBURBERRY. Get serious! Now I’m stuck with these sh*t shoes that I don’t like and never want to wear! Fail. There will not be a second chance for this store. If you like this brand(and I’m not so sure you should), get them at Nordstrom.
