Outstanding customer service. I left work early to come pick up a desk. I didn’t call ahead or anything and I got there 14 minutes before they closed. I walked in, went right to the desk I had picked out already, grabbed the barcode thingy, and drove away with the desk in my car trunk in less than 7 minutes. They were lightning fast and super friendly.

A few years back I went into this store and asked the print service staff to make me a high-quality copy of my advanced degree to hang on my wall at work(I just wanted to keep the original in a much safer place, my home office). The copy was made on heavy-duty stock paper in a few minutes and I was on my way. I went back a month ago to have the same thing done for my husband’s bachelor degree. The clerk told me that she had to refuse to make me a copy because it was illegal to copy a degree. I asked to see a copy of the law. She fumbled through some store manual to no avail. So I finally asked for some card stock so I could use the in-store copy machine and make my own copy. The same clerk said she would show me how to make the copy on the card stock then never came back to help. Another customer who uses the service regularly finally helped me make the copy. What a bunch of crap… I cannot make a copy of a document that we already own, even after I had it done there once before? Especially just to hang on the wall. I still can’t get anyone from that store to show me anything in writing.

Probably more like 3.5. I must admit that they do push the extended warranty thing really hard here, but that is probably corporate policy. You just have to be strong and say no. I got a very good deal on a Laptop and every other time I’ve been there I’ve been treated well. The aisles are wide and the store is easy for a wheelchair user to navigate.

Was here with my father helping him pick out a paper shredder and printer cartrages for his printer. 5 stars for having everything we needed in stock, would have stayed that way until the associate sunk her meathooks into us. She had no clue on the differences in the numbers on the printer cartrages(standard, extra, super capacity) neither did I. After using common sense and reading the package I was able to figure it out. The asociate just echoed my findings like an annoying parrot. –1 star Onto the paper shredders. She asked some 1 qualifying question on daily usage and determined we needed medium capacity, tried to sell us one with a CD shredder. My dad doesn’t know how to burn data onto a cd. Then she proceeded to tell us more about the shredders that were low capacity and how we don’t want to buy those. At that point I stepped in suggested one, dad loved it, and good to go. — 1 star Associate trys the hard sell on the extended warranty. No thank you. I knew the prescripted spiel was coming, and I’m sorry when someone isn’t confident in what they are trying to sell, it’s not going to fly with me. 2 more times she tries and both of us polietly decline. –1 star Cashier… Tries to hard sell us on the extended warranty. What’s wrong with this place? They should rename it Extended Warranty Max. 3 times we had to shoot her down. On her last ditch effort«it covers power surges.» I reply«it’s plugged into a surge protector, no thank you.» — 1 star. Sorry Office Max, you are now a last resort for our family. I’m not going to subject them to pushy employees who try to take advantage over customers who may be technologically disabled. Back to ordering items online for the folks and having them shipped directly.
