Had some great meals from here, then other times just average. If this place can be consistent, it would be a great place to go for Chinese food.

Since this place is 2 min away from my house, it’s extremely convenient. Great tasting food… only complaint I have… is that the GENERALTSAO&ORANGE chicken is not made like other places… they give you the sauce, instead of actually mixing the ingredients… but service is great & friendly.

For 17 years this was our only choice for Chinese take out near our OF home. But first our favorite dish(Beef Lo Mein) stopped being even close to acceptable. Now, the combo fried rice had turned into TOFU Fried Rice with a couple pieces of maybe actual mystery meat. What is up with that? Don’t know what has changed in this place but it’s not worth going to any longer.

Best Chinese in Oak Forest! Beef chow mein is awesome, as is BBQ pork fried rice. Never had anything I didn’t like. Just wish they delivered!

This open kitchen, carry out Chinese restaurant is by far the best in the south suburbs… It’s not the cheapest, but the ingredients are fresh, and the food is consistently delicious. The beef lo mein is amazing. The egg rolls are incredible! A family favorite for us on a Sunday night after a long week.

I used to absolutely love Number 1 Chop Suey, I wouldn’t get Chinese food from anywhere else. But recently their food has just not lived up to the quality of what is used to be. My husband on multiple occasions has complained about how gross the orange chicken was and I’ve been completely disappointed by their fried rice and the pan fried noodles. I wish they could figure out what they started doing differently, whether that is different ingredients or different cooking methods. I would love if they could go back to producing fantastic Chinese food like they did a few years back. That said, I have always been pleased with their staff members and the cleanliness of the store. Just wish their food could be better.

Veggies crisp, sauce flavorful, Shrimp cooked just right. This place does a great job. They produce a quality product. In a word go you won’t be disappointed. Had the Kung Po Shrimp –nice portion. They offer Veggie egg roll.

Excellent food. Wasn’t expecting the fried rice to be as golden brown and flavorful as it was. I ordered the egg foo young and was blown away. They had it prepared differently than what I’m used to but boy oh boy it was a hit with my tastebuds. They definitely deserve the number one spot out here.

Hands down the best Chinese place around. I honestly won’t eat anywhere else. The quality and freshness of the food is immeasurable and the kitchen is clean and there is noticeable pride of ownership. Ricky and Cindy are absolute dolls and are a hardworking family. I have family who insist on Number One when they visit and it’s non-negotiable.

I’m a big Crab Rangoon gal and I have to say — these are the creamiest and most delicious ones I’ve had yet! So many places make them different and trust me, time after time, this restaurant makes my taste buds happy! If you haven’t ever tried BBQ pork & pineapple fried rice before, definitely check theirs out… Amazing!

I wish I could put negative star… this place is terrible. I wanted something local instead of my regular. The 1st time it was okay just okay the 2nd time I had the runs thinking they were having a bad day. But today is all the fu@king worst. There was a rock in my fu@king veggie egg roll. I can’t believe they won Chicago lands best what ever. This place is awful and terrible. I’m sure you will be hearing more about this place. Ppl are just scared to say so!!!

The BEST«AMERICANCHINESE» food in the greater Chicago area. Hands down. It’s not authentic, however it is by far superior than anything else. If you’re not looking for China Town authentic, and you happen to be in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, this is your jam. Be sure to try the lemon chicken, and the fried rice is killer.

One of my favorite Chinese places in the area. Vegetables always seem to be cooked right and have excellent fried rices. The beef dinners have all been excellent. Have not had any of the chicken dinners but they looked good too.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had!!! I tried this place twice hoping the second time would be better. I ordered chicken lo mein with extra mushrooms. The serving was huge. However, it was almost all noodles, and not the normal thick brownish noodles one is used too. These noodles looked and tastes like Ramen Noodles when someone forgets to put the seasoning packet in. The mushrooms were straight from a can along with the water chestnuts and other veggies. I told my wife that I will NEVER ear there again!!!

Since we are big Chinese take out fans we can now say that this is our favorite place on the south side. The food is excellent. The best Won Ton soup among other things. Not close by for us but worth the drive to pickup.

This restaurant is awesome. I was here to visit from California and was craving for Chinese food. I found this place from Unilocal with all good reviews. Unilocalers are right about the food and service– fried chicken wings, shrimp fried rice, Mongolian beef, orange chicken and wonton soup are my favorites! Two thumbs up!

I have been going here for about 13 years. I like their lunch Box specials, they are the best. You can’t beat it for about $ 6.10 you get a lot of food and an egg roll.

Good serviceable Chinese food in a nice little storefront setting. While there are five McDonalds-like tables with four seats each in the restaurant, this place really isn’t set up for dine-in…there is nothing on the tables and they serve your dine-in order in the to-go containers with little flimsy plastic forks… and the little portion-pak sweet-and-sour sauces. This is really just a carry-out place. That said, the food was nicely prepared — hot and fresh. We had the chicken fried rice(very nice with nice size pieces of chicken)…beef chop suey(also nice with good chunks of beef)…and the egg rolls(slightly sweet with just the slightest hint of jasmine). All in all the food was nice and we would return… but solely for take-out next time.

In Oak Forest and the surrounding area, I don’t really feel any of the other Chinese restaurants compare. Even after the 10 minute drive back home with the takeout the food is still so hot(temperature) that you can’t eat it until it has been on your plate for 5 minutes. It’s not really a dine in type of place, and the seating makes McDonalds look like a lazyboy. But the food is phenomenal.

This place is awesome! We order from here once or twice a month and have never been dissatisfied! Not to sound like a jerk, but one of the best things about this place is that they employ a native speaker as a cashier and phone jockey. Unlike other places, when you call, you don’t have to spend half the time trying to figure out what the person is saying because of their thick Chinese accent. The food is phenomenal, too. I’ve tried about 15 different things on the menu and it’s been perfect every time! Thus far, my favorites are the«sweet & sours» and the«Lo Meins.» My wife is a huge fan of their crab rangoon(very creamy!), I love the shrimp toast, and we both can’t get enough of the pot stickers! The only suggestions I could offer to this place have nothing to do with the food. First, they could use a more visible location! Second, they should start a delivery service. There’ve been a few times where we’ve wanted Chinese and ordered from somewhere else simply because it was too much of a pain to go out and get it(bad weather, company was over, didn’t want to have to load the kids in the car, etc.). If you’re looking for great Chinese in Oak Forest or the surrounding areas, look no further because it’s just north of 159th on Central in the east strip mall! And to the owners… Great food! I wish you the best of luck and many many years of prosperity!

A few years back, I learned I actually like egg rolls. Like, a lot. For some reason, I have bad luck with them, though. If I order them veg, they arrive loaded with meaty and greasy as in I-just-got-dipped-in-Crisco-how’s-it-going greasy. Yuck. Tried a few local places, but nothing lit my fire. And then, I found #1. Hot, fresh, fast, and reasonably priced. I have a LOAD of ridiculous requests between my very-vegetarian paranoia and my three year old’s über picky nature and they are awesomely adaptable. And super nice. And just generally great all the way around. In the OF/TP/OP area, it’s my favorite stop for egg rolls. Oh, and vegetable lo main. Highly recommended!
