Look elsewhere for your wedding tuxedos. We went to JP Tuxedo because they had a larger selection of gray tuxedos. We picked a gray Calvin Klein tuxedo and specified that we wanted a three-piece suit look including a vest that matched the fabric of the jacket and pants, and NOT a shiny prom style vest. J.P. Tuxedo’s rental prices were higher then the other places we looked at but we were wiling to pay this to get the style of suit and three-piece look that we wanted. This was emphasized when I went back to pick out ties. Over the months leading up to our wedding, I e-mailed and some groomsmen called in their measurements for those that lived out of town. Months later I learned that they somehow did not have these measurements. The week of our wedding, they didn’t have the shoes and some of the tuxes available on the day that they were supposed to be in so everything had to be picked up last minute or the men had to go back numerous times to pick up their missing pieces. I finally got to see my husband’s tux the night before our wedding at our rehearsal dinner. The suits weren’t even Calvin Klein but some knockoff brand. They completely disobeyed our order and gave him a shiny, champagne vest. They gave the groomsmen shiny gray vests. The pants for most of the groomsmen and dads were also huge and baggy instead of being fitted, and they didn’t replace the pants for us before the wedding like they said they would when the some of the groomsmen went for the fittings and complained. They did replace the vests, which the groomsmen inconveniently had to pick up the morning of the wedding. Overall, was our wedding ruined — no. But it caused undue stress and when we look back at pictures, all of the tuxes were such poor quality and so poorly fitted so they look out of the place with the otherwise extravagant wedding that we had. If I could go back I would either have the guys all buy suits and get them fitted(or at the very least have my husband do that) and I would go elsewhere for the rest of the tux rentals. The only reason they are getting 2 stars instead of 1 is that they did try to remedy some of the problems, but this place simply does not provide the quality that you will want for your wedding.

Their customer service is by far the worst I have ever encountered. I needed to do out of town measurements and they made me wait over 2 hours with no call back. Both employees told me they would call me back in 5 – 10 min and never did. If I didn’t have to rent from them due to the wedding using their rental services I wouldn’t even bother. If only they had a no star option, I feel 1 star is one to many.

Great staff great people to work with! They went above and beyond easy to fall in love with Bridget and Vic. I was referred to them from a friend who also got his tuxedo there and his experience was just as awesome as mine. Also they gave us the chance to make any changes to the tuxedo(which we didn’t have to) just in case it didn’t fit the way we wanted it to. But all 6 tuxedo fit exceptionally well. Thank you guys. I’m a fan.

I ordered a 38s coat, medium shirt, medium vest and they measured me for pants. What did I get back? A 40s coat, medium shirt(but extremely baggy, looked more like an XL), a small vest(not sure how you can expect someone to fit into a small vest when they wear a medium shirt) and pants that were 6 inches too long. Since it was the day of the wedding I had to make due and used safety pins to roll the pants up. Everything else just looked terrible. Never go here. No matter how good the deal might be. They don’t give you what you ordered. I’m working with my credit card company to get my money back now.

I really wish I could give them a zero stars. They gave my husband a huge headache! I couldn’t believe two days before our wedding they said they didn’t have everyone’s suits! The other suits didn’t have everything! Then my brother was just brushed aside when he asked for the suit. My husband had to practically curse them out for not having it and then magically they appeared! I wanted to just see this place after they kept calling to make an appointment. I did not like this place and would never recommend it to anyone!

This is the only tux place I’d ever recommend. They called my fiancé(at the time) to introduce themselves from a call list of newly engaged couples. I’m glad they did. They had the best grey tux I had seen after checking with a few places. Men’s Warehouse had a similar tux that rented for $ 200 and the owner(Vic) gave us a deal for $ 125, two free suits and an additional discount to my bro in law who is in the Marines. After renting many tuxes over the years at many chains for weddings an formal events, I finally found the best. I usually come to expect paying a lot for a tux that doesn’t fit right the first time. The tux looked great and fit perfectly when we came to pick it up. There is a convenient Sox Outlet a block away to pick up a pair of matching socks. The grey shoes were a nice touch but Id definitely recommend getting Dr Scholls inserts as my feet were killin me on the big day. The place is independently owned and comes highly recommended by me!

I came into town from Florida for a friends wedding and everything went perfect with JP Tuxedos. Before even coming into town they were very helpful in telling me how to get my measurements from one of their in network providers. Then myself, along with all the other groomsmen and the groom, went in to make sure everything fit. The owner, Vic, was there to personally tend to us and make sure we had everything we needed. We were in and out with a perfect fit in no time at all. I highly recommend this place for the personal touch. I’ve been to a lot of weddings and the help we got from the staff was above and beyond what I’ve seen before at larger national chains where they basically just take your money and toss you out the door.

The staff spent a lot of time helping us pick tuxes for me, the groomsmen & both fathers. They also helped us match vests to the bridesmaid dresses & made suggestions for which styles were the best. I had a few out of town groomsmen & they were very accommodating and helpful. At time of pickup, the staff had everyone try the tuxes on & made sure that everything fitted to each man’s liking. The team was very friendly & wanted to make sure that everyone looked their best! I would highly recommend using them & will definitely use them in the future.

This place is awful and my review is well overdue. My wedding was last year and we booked the perfect church and the perfect venue in the city for what I envisioned our wedding to be. Everytime I look at my wedding pictures I can’t get over the fact of how baggy the groom’s pants were(imagine MC Hammer and I am not over exaggerating). Father of the bride, ring bearer, over ¾ of the groomsmen jacket or pants were all baggy. I even complained the day of the fittings that the pants on the groom were baggy and I was brushed aside. They were able to give the groom a size lower but it was still too baggy and the owner kept telling me it was fine and that was his correct size. At that point, I was on the verge of tears because I had planned for the tuxedos to be fitted and had initially said I wanted fitted tuxedos when we first came to this store. This isn’t 1990! Even the other groomsmen that had came with us agreed, but we were simply brushed aside and ignored because it was prom season. If your wedding is during prom season be prepared to wait while all of the highschool kids get to the front of the line and served first. Better yet, don’t even bother going here if your wedding is during prom season because you’ll get the tuxedo pants and jackets that they have leftover(even if you reserved those measurements 2 months in advance). On the day of the wedding we found out 2 of the groomsmen were given different jackets than the rest, 1 groomsman was given a different shirt, 1 groomsman had a stain on his tuxedo pants??? It may seem like a great deal initially, but in the end I would’ve rather taken our business somewhere else. It was such a horrible experience and I get reminded every time I look at my wedding pictures. The only positive thing about this place is the nice saleslady that worked there. She was at least aware of what customer service was. Way to ruin most of my wedding pictures JP Tuxedo! It’s not possible to photoshop the bagginess of the pants.

Kind of a late review but I had to tell of the Great service I experienced from JP Tuxedo. My wedding was May 2011 and it was also featured on the TV show Four Weddings I must say that JP Tuxedo met our every expectations every step of the way. Upon winning the Four weddings Show titled«Bling Team» I needed my suit tailored within a hour they helped me with that and loaned me a shirt so I could meet a fast approaching deadline they were great! The whole time.

I needed a tuxedo at the last minute and this place saved the day. A groomsman dropped out of a friends wedding at the last minute and Vick was able to get me everything I needed the same day!

This place is absolutely awful. They are rude, untimely, and their tuxedos are defective. I went to JP Tuxedos for my wedding(which was on May 17, 2008). For our first couple visits in picking out colors and making arrangements, the staff were courteous and professional. However, when the day came to pick up the tuxes(May 16), it was absolute hell. My father and brothers arrived in the early afternoon, and they figured there’d be plenty of time to make the rehearsal dinner at Connie’s Pizza(Archer & Cermak) by 6PM. Right? Wrong. Because it was prom season. Oh yes, at J P Tuxedos, if you’re a high schooler with a prom date, you go to the front of the line. Grooms, best men, and other wedding party members? You have to wait for the prom kids. No joke, this is really their policy. We ended up waiting FIVEHOURS in the store for our tuxedos. We saw high school kids regularly called up in front of us. I’m never rude or offensive toward shop owners, and I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this experience made me madder than I’ve been in my whole life. I mean really, allowing prom kids to go to the front of the line, in front of a wedding party?! My father and I had to yell at the store manager three separate times before we were allowed to start trying on our tuxes! We barely made it to the rehearsal dinner on time — I, the groom, walked in right at 6, after spending many hours at the tux shop. Good thing the traffic on the Dan Ryan was light. After all that, the tuxedos didn’t even match correctly, the colors were off, the shoes didn’t fit, and some tuxes were missing cuff links and buttons. What a fiasco! I would never, ever, ever patronize J P Tuxedos again. They are rude, unprofessional, and just plain dumb.
