Went to Olivers on 12−11−15. Had the best wings I have had in a long time and the cheese sticks were out of this world. Great waffle fries. And the waitress was courteous, friendly and prompt. Oh and the french onion soup was very good.

Not a big fan of the good here. Marginal at best. That being said had a sample of the irish nachos. I must say not bad. Would order them again. Beer is cold though and they have my favorite Stella on tap.

Blaaaaahhhhhh. That’s all I can say about Olivers. Outside the service, which is sluggish at best, there is nothing in particular with the place that is horrible… it’s just boring. Kudos for opening a bar where there isn’t another around, which is the main positive contributing factor.

The chicken or steak quesadillas are pretty good. The service is absolutely horrible and the draft beer is marginal. After one full Sunday funday, the waitress refused to separate our tabs for 4 couples(we had requested this upon our first order and were told it would be worked out). This ended with her suggesting that we review the bill(of over $ 500) and figure out who owed what. What a $h!t show! The teenage manager was no help. The bar is situated in a great spot… because there is nothing else within at least a mile… so don’t let the full parking lot fool you. Go somewhere where they need to work for it.

The only reason this gets one star is so that I can post this. I was unable to even have an experience here, so my true rating is 0 stars. My friend called earlier in the day and placed a reservation for our party of 12, because it was Game 7 for the Blackhawks and we knew it would be packed. I arrive to meet my friend, only for him to tell me that they have no record of our reservation. He also informs me that they said to wait until 6:40 and if a party did not show up, there was a chance we could have their table. 6:40 rolls around and no one comes over to inform us of the situation. At this point, my friend has been standing around for 40 minutes waiting. One of the other members of our party goes to the hostess stand for an update. He is speaking with an employee when, a person who I can only assume is the manager, walks up. He asks her about the status of our situation calmly. She says, in an extremely loud and rude tone, to wait the 10 minutes they said(which we already had) and that they would call us when they were ready. She continues to repeat phrases like that for a few minutes, then walks away, still leaving us unsure of the situation. Other patrons in the bar appeared to be shaking their heads at our group, so that gives the atmosphere a major thumbs down. The one nice thing was the hostess. She continuously apologized to our group the entire span of the time we were there and really tried to help us. Four for you! As people are coming in, they are being allowed to take tables from people that are leaving. One member of our party asks how people that are just arriving are receiving tables, over our group who, some members, have been there for an hour.(There were only 6 of us there at this point, not even our full party.) The hostess goes to check where we are on the waiting list and informs us that, either no one put our name down or they only went by first name, and again, never updated us on the situation. After I was there for half an hour and other members of our party were there for over an hour, we decided to just leave, seeing as the staff was literally walking past and ignoring us. I understand that they were busy, but this was entirely unacceptable. If we would have been disrespectful, then I would understand that reaction. However, we were trying to resolve the situation. They chose to ignore it. This was a very unfortunate situation, seeing as I was excited because they served a drink I rarely find when I am out. I was completely appalled by this treatment. Apparently the customer is never right at this establishment. I have no interest at all in returning and will make sure that my peers are aware of my extremely negative experience.

Went in here and watch some of the NBA All-Star weekend. I ordered a half pound burger with fries and both were absolutely delicious and very filling. My boyfriend ended up ordering the sampler platter which was also very delicious. We had a Bob Marley’s Long Island tea which was six dollars and was very strong with a lot of alcohol.

There’s A Tear In My Beer! Oliver’s Bar & Grill is your better than average, neighborhood bar & grill located in Oak Forest, IL, a SW burb o’Chicago. It’s serves up plenty o’cold beer & drinks for a reasonable price & offers your standard bar-type food of sammies, pizza, apps & burgers. I can vouch that the mozz stix are very good. They’re big, plank-like, mozz-stuffed stix that are served pipin’ hot with a side o’marinara & are oh so friggin’ tasty! The inside of Oliver’s is basic but well-maintained, clean & spacious with lotsa tables & seating. The bar is big & wraps around in a circle with flat-screen TVs all around the bar & restaurant great for watchin’ games. There’s music always playin’ in the background too or you can be DJ, it’s got TouchTunes! Got game? In the summer you can play bags outside too. The bar tenders & staff are all friendly & attentive too, and the drinks & food are served in a timely manner. The crowd at Oliver’s is usually a mixed bag: could be lotsa college-aged kids, middle-aged divorcees, 30-somethings, the neighborhood regulars, business people or random people like yours truly, ya just never know! But anyone will feel welcome at Oliver’s! Finally, mega kudos to Oliver’s for being the only bar around the SW burbs that I know of that’s open on all major holidays when family gatherings induce heavy post-traumatic drinking lol! So if you’re lookin’ for a fancy meal & drinks keep drivin’ downtown, but if it’s been a shitty day & ya don’t feel like drivin’ into the City, I’d recommend stoppin’ in at Oliver’s for a few cold ones & some good bar food or grabbin’ one last call for alcohol on your way back from the City. Oliver’s isn’t gonna dazzle ya with a clubby or hipster, city scene but it’s good enough to turn your frown upside down! And who knows on a straight, Tequila-kinda night, ya might just get lucky & have free, front row seats to a random bar brawl, after all it is Oak Forest!

So the first thing I ordered, vegetable soup, had a spoon inside of it that had dried up milk on it. I showed our server, then she proceeded to take only the spoon away. Are you kidding me? Why would you not also take the soup that you placed a dirty spoon into? I asked if i could have bread and butter with the soup. She brought out the bread with the soup, I had to ask for butter again. She brought out a melted butter that looked disgusting and slightly radioactive. I asked for regular chilled butter. She said they did not have any. I ordered an appetizer sampler that came with wings, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and a portion of a quesadilla. I asked for chicken to be added to my quesadilla. She said it would be a $ 1.50 more. That’s fine with me. Although I did notice that when you order a FULL quesadilla from the menu, it costs only a dollar to add chicken, and that’s for a full quesadilla. I am not getting a full quesadilla in the sampler, so why are you charging me more than what one would pay to add chicken to a full quesadilla? I also had to ask for my drink more than once, I’m not really that upset that you forgot, I just don’t like when you act like I never asked you for a drink. I also had to go up to the bar to ask for a bag to put my to-go box in. Shouldn’t the two go hand-in-hand? My boyfriend said the chili was good, and had a little bit of a kick to it, could’ve used more vegetables though. In my opinion, the food was not good enough to make up for the service. Server was nice, just not on point. I could’ve went to a McDonald’s and received better service. I agree with a previous reviewer; It is rare when you wish you would went to an Applebee’s instead.

Rare is the restaurant that has you wishing it was Applebee’s, but here we are. Drove out here from the city to have dinner with an out of town friend and a few others. Oliver’s seems like your typical sports bar, which means a pretty high floor for food quality. After all, how hard is it to make decent bar food? Service — three stars, nothing remarkable in either direction. Chairs — we were at a high top. This merits a special note because I had a wicked back-ache afterwards. These chairs are like sitting on a concrete floor. TVs — need an upgrade. They are flat screens(and plenty of them), but a lot of them had some discoloration/poor picture in general. Appetizer — shared the sampler. Mozzarella sticks, onion rings and the quesadilla were alright. Boneless wings were oddly not crispy. Dinner — avoid the Bayou Shrimp at all costs. I’m not sure what breading they use for these, but they were just gross. The chipotle ranch was nothing special, but I was drowning the shrimp in it just to mask the taste of the breading. Perhaps I just picked the wrong thing for my meal — but I don’t see myself returning.

Shame, shame, shame on you Oliver’s… We brought a good amount of the Oak Forest Barracuda’s into your establishment for food and drinks after our conference meet, and actually received good service(thank you Danielle) and decent food, but boy, did you try to make us pay! Everyone in Oak Forest has taken advantage of, and appreciated, your«kids eat free“‘special on Saturday nights. My wife and I have dined with you on Saturdays specifically for this reason. Tonight we bring in close to 40 kids and adults, and you decide(without warning) to change your qualifications for the«free» kids meal by stipulating that the adults need to order one of your 6 – 7(maybe) entrees on the menu. Never mind that all of us ordered sandwiches. Apparently these no longer qualify as entrees!!! Something we were not told when we ordered our food. Then, when you present us with a $ 850 bill(which, BTW, included food items that no one ordered –like chicken breasts and extra orders of fries)!!! We question this — obviously — and we are told by the owner’s son(who claims to be a new employee???) that this is «the way it’s always been». How insulting… You speak to us as if we unintelligent morons, and expect us to just swallow your bullshit. Sorry Oliver’s, but that’s just not going to fly. You lower the bill, after we complain forever, and we pay it, even though there were still items on the bill that no one actually ordered. Fine. Message received. You don’t want us there. We get it. No one that I know is sure who you are catering to anymore!?! Your service(despite tonight) is often poor. Your food is average. Apparently you’re satisfied with that, and you don’t want our business. Do us all a favor and get rid of your kids meal menu. Get rid of the claw game that we easily pumped $ 50 dollars into tonight, and cater to the crowd you are looking for — the town drunk that’s going to be there drinking beer, despite what your specials or menu looks like. We won’t be back, and I’ll be telling as many people as I can to avoid your establishment. Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to just treat people fairly?!?

Oliver’s is a decent place to watch a game. They have a ton of seating in the main bar area and then kind of a side room, with a ½ wall that seperates it from the bar — which also has a ton of tv’s and lower tables. I think this is supposed to be more of a dining room area, but the place is just one huge sports bar. Food is decent — typical bar food, nothing worth remembering. Service has always been good — very attentive servers and bartenders. One thing is, they have a huge parking lot behind the place that is not very well lit. We used to come here a lot to play euchre, but a few of the cars were broken into while parked back there. I assume because the lighting is so poor, it made it easy to get away with this. This has kind of discouraged us from coming here often. Too bad, because it is a decent place.

I have been coming here infrequently since they opened. Initially, I was not very impressed, but they have seemed to have gotten progressively better. Met a buddy there for a drink last night. We had no intention of eating and even talked about going somewhere else for dinner. Instead, we decided to try the burgers. Wow! They were fantastic and cooked perfectly! Also, I’d highly recommend the sweet potato fries. They have a honey dip that is SWEET(pun intended). I’ll be back.

I eat out for lunch every day. I vote 5 stars for bar food. Oliver’s has been the best value and best food that I have found. I have the Lunch Specials,(ask the waitress) My favorite is the Pannini Patty Melt. Best that I have ever had, served with the best fries, along with soup which is excellent, a pickle which could be bigger, and a drink. They always serve it hot and fresh. Service today was excellent. Young girl, thin, long hair, young again, on the check it said Molly? GREAT Waitress to say the least. Food today was perfect!

Had dinner for the first time last night at Charlie’s and I really enjoyed it! I had the Cow and Pig burger. That’s a burger with BBQ pulled pork on top! It was a little messy but delicious! They also have really good waffle fries. The guy I was with had a chopped salad(I think?) and said it was delicious! This would be a great place to watch a game as there are TV’s everywhere! And if the game doesn’t keep your attention the video poker machines will! They actually have a roped off poker section! Overall a great place and I will be heading back to Charlie’s for a Bears game soon!

Beer, huge burger with a buttery bun, pulled pork AND a patty with onions. YUM Wandering in on a Tuesday afternoon, seasoned bad boys(or alcoholics) bellied up to the bar and many open tables sat open. I definitely see the appeal to this place. There are a bunch of tvs available, the staff is friendly, drinks are cheap, and theres lots of specials including 50 cent wings, $ 1 tacos, and $ 1 mini burgers. See the pic a fellow Unilocaler posted. In fact, if I lived nearby this would be my go to for when Im craving something cheesy, deep fried or just plain bad for you munchies. The menu is packed and has just about anything to please any American palate. The exterior of this establishment is unassuming. However, stop in for some good olé American grub with some friends and it’ll have you wondering why you waited so long.

I really want to give this place a 2.5 stars due to my most recently experience. I’ve been here plenty of times before for family lunches to watching the Hawks game and always had a nice time. For some reason, whomever was commanding the sound volume of the system was clearly deaf in both ears. The sound was maddening. They should be handing out ear plugs when you walk it. Hello OSHA! I wanted to stuff my croutons in my ears to save my hearing. You couldn’t hear what anyone was saying. People were screaming to turn the volume down. This was not a pleasant experience. The service was friendly and fast when I first got there but after the place got packed, these kids didn’t hustle as fast. They need to step it up a bit here. The food — no complaints.

Came here for dinner with the family, and my overall opinion is this place is an okay neighborhood joint. Our waiter was nice but… off. Service was a little on the slow side. We weren’t in any hurry so it wasn’t a big deal. The food is acceptable, but nothing out of this world. I ordered the Pesto Veggie Panini with waffle fries. The sandwich was good, but not great. It was really heavy on the mozzarella which was fine(I love me some cheese!) but really drowned out the flavor of the pesto and veggies(mushrooms, onions, and peppers). They might as well have just left the pesto off all together. The bread on the bottom got really soggy, but the top was nice and crispy. The waffle fries would have been awesome if they’d been hot. Honestly, I think my food probably sat for a bit before it was served. That would explain the soggy bottom bread and coldish fries. The rest of my dining company ordered the fish fry. I tried some of my boyfriend’s fish. The breading was saltier than necessary. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food well enough though. Also, they don’t have cocktail sauce here. This was kind of a big deal to one of my dining companions. Kudos to them for having some badass coupons — free ribs, free salad, you can take it to go! The décor is upscale sports bar. Lots of TVs. The bathroom is the cleanest, nicest bar bathrooms I’ve set foot in for quite some time. Bottom line: I would come back here without protest, but it definitely would not be my first choice.

A-OK place. Here’s the skinny: Chili is pretty good. A few craft beers are available. Thursdays, mini burgers are on special for $ 1 each. Mashed Potatoes could use some help. Here’s the fat: Oliver’s is a nice place to have a decent lunch. The food is good and I especially like the Chili there though it could use some more heat. Oh well nothing that some hot sauce can’t fix. The fries are on point, think they’re the battered kind, where it’s flaky and crispy on the outside. Today I had the Mini Burgers($ 1 each), 3 of ‘em. One Meatball, One Pulled Pork and 1 Cheeseburger. Meatball mini: Meh… OK. Cheeseburger mini: No thanks. Pulled Pork mini: WINNERWINNER! should have gotten 3 of those. I had lunch here a few weeks back and got the Pork Medallions with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes. The Pork was OK and so were the veggies but, the mashed potatoes… NOT a fan. They were probably the«instant» kind which isn’t terrible but, they could have done ‘em up a little bit better or added some salt and butter to the mix. They have a small selection of craft beers, nothing outrageous. Enough to keep you happy. I’ll come back here for lunch, maybe one night I’ll hit it up for a night out after work too.
