Hey, I LIKE this place! Have been a half-dozen times and like it more each time. It was originally recommended as a local source for Asian grocery items, but they also prepare and serve Filipino food for in-store dining and/or take-out. It’s totally bare-bones(plastic tableware and paper towels for napkins) but the staff always displays that famous Filipino politeness and, if you are a halfway nice person, they make you feel like part of the family. Now I go in for the food AND the friendliness! I’m unqualified to judge authenticity, but really like most of what I’ve tried. Some of it is a bit intimidating to a gringo, like the blood pudding, brain dishes, and fattier meat items, but there’s lots to suit the adventurous and the faint-hearted(helpfully, they’ll let you taste, in case you’re unsure). Also great that the daily fare seems to change a lot, so not monotonous. Have become addicted to the«pritong mani» snacks(fried peanuts with garlic chips)! It’s now on my short list of Oak Harbor favorites!

Went in because I wanted something to snack on. The lumpia was tasty. Prices are a little on the higher side.

My wife and I stayed one night in Oak Harbor and we were walking around the old town and happened to see this filipino store. We decided to go take a look and in the back they had a little restaurant. We shared a plate, which included pancit, rice, beef steak, lumpia, and dinuguan. Now dinuguan isn’t for everybody, but this was one of the best I have ever had. All the food was great and very little priced. All home made. If you like filipino food, try it.

Being pinay and having had lived on the island it’s difficult getting your filipino fix without having to drive all the way to Seattle to get all the groceries you need. Perla’s had the many staples I needed to cook the essentials like adobo, kare kare, etc. The restaurant part of the store was pretty ok. The mongo I found to be bland but I did like the fried tilapia and the lechon.

I added this place because I couldn’t find it on Unilocal and I had to Google it to find it. Any who I believe it’s family owned. It’s part restaurant and the other part is a store. It’s filled with Filipino products as well as many Asian food products. There’s canned goods, frozen meat and seafood in the fridge. There’s also ice cream, bread and a couple of fresh vegetables! The food was great! You can see two or three ladies prepare them in the back and there’s already some ready to eat at the counter. There’s a small place to eat in front of the store with of course a TV playing TFC. This place is no 5 star restaurant but if you’re hungry and missing that home cook meal I suggest this place. I read about some other place in Oak Harbor but all the reviews were pretty bad on it. Nothing is ever as close to what you get at home but when you’re far away from a home cook meal this place will hit the spot. And with that I’m pretty stuffed!
