Dr. Ellstein’s office is in a large bank building that has a somewhat confusing layout. What also isn’t clear is if you can park in the bank’s parking lot… but I always did anyway without any problems. Dr. Ellstein’s office manager lady is my favorite. She’s a real gem — kind, snarky, and personable. Scheduling with her was a breeze and I enjoyed talking to her while I was in the minuscule waiting area. Dr. Ellstein was my very first chiropractor ever, so I didn’t quite know what to expect. He is a dear man with lots of personal stories. He talks a LOT(eh — some people like that). He explained that he’s a medical doctor who chose to get extra education to become a chiropractor. That made me feel like I was in good hands. What also made me feel good was that he told me that he doesn’t like to take x-rays because he can tell most things about your bones from an exam. He didn’t like doing stuff just to rake in extra revenue. Dr. Ellstein had customized orthopedics made for my shoes and recommended new ways for me to sleep and sit. I really liked his approach because it felt proactive and holistic. He made those recommendations so that I wouldn’t need adjustments for the rest of my life. The real reason why I went to see Dr. Ellstein was to get massages paid for by my insurance. Only, the massage therapist really did rub me the wrong way. She talked the whole time so I couldn’t really relax. In fact, I started to feel tense when she talked about racial stuff(I don’t think she’s racist, but I think it’s not a good subject to discuss during a massage with a stranger). I told Dr. Ellstein and that was my last massage. I kept going back for more and more adjustments and did not seem to be getting any«better.» In fact, I went in without any back pain and have had some discomfort ever since. He explained that the adjustments would be uncomfortable because they’re helping me use muscles correctly — once they strengthened it would be even better. I’m not sure if I ever got to that point, but it’s been a couple years and it’s still uncomfortable.

Wouldn’t even consider another chiropractor. He’s knowledgeable, intuitive and compassionate… the best!
