Nick’s used to be quality! Quality food and quality customer service. I just went back recently and experienced the opposite. First of all, when I went up to the counter the man completely ignored me, turned his back on me and went to the back of the store. Then a lady proceeded to deal with me. She was only slightly more pleasant then the man. I was informed that there was only 2 slices of pizza ready(yes in the entire store, lol) and that I would have to wait. So I just got breadsticks. Did not receive a thank you or come again or anything for that matter. Extremely rude. Definitely will not be returning.

I drove past this place for so long looking at the neon«HOMEMADEITALIANICE» sign. I kept thinking that I needed to try it, and I finally did. Three flavors of traditional Italian ice: lemon, strawberry, and watermelon. I tried the first two, but of course lemon was best. They also serve non-dessert food here, apparently.

When I lived across the street from Nick’s it was my go-to place. For a struggling college student it’s hard to beat low prices and gigantic slices of pizza! The location may be a little awkward and the parking might be an issue, but if you can find a way to get into Nick’s you will not be disappointed!

Parking is horrible, but man is the Italian Ice worth it! Throw in a very reasonably priced huge slice of pizza & welcome to Cloud Nine.

Love their pizza, we always request that they cut the pizza into squares rather than slices. Delivery is typically on time. The guy that has been answering the phones lately has been much more pleasant than the previous guy. Hot wings are decent.

Nick’s is reasonably priced and the food is good. My favorite is the beef. Everytime I get it delivered its really hot(probably because I live embarassingly close to be delivered to). The delivery driver is nice too – I seem to always get the same one. Overall worth trying – they have a lot of items on the menu so I’m sure there is something for everyone.

I hope the beef is better than the pizza… After seeing all of the 4&5 star reviews, I thought I was in for a welcome surprise in Oak Park. The pizza is NY style and you can by a whole pie or just a slice. The grease from my slice could have filled a shot glass. I love pizza of all styles and variations, but Nick’s was nothing to write home about. Perhaps my experience was a unique one, but I would certainly approach Nick’s Pizza and Beef(well at least the pizza) with very average expectations.

We just moved to Oak Park and I was excited because Nick’s gets good reviews from everyone else. It is only a few blocks from my house, so I thought I’d try it out. However, I was disappointed in their pizza. It was not bad, just thoroughly mediocre. The sausage was OK and the price is OK, but it was nothing to write home about. My family eats pizza almost once a week, and we always find a pizza place which will be «our» pizza where ever we have lived. Regrettably, Nick’s will not be the place.

We go here a lot because it’s in walking distance from our house and it makes for good late-night fare. Only problem is, they’re not open very late, I think maybe 11 or 12 on Friday/Saturday(which I suppose is later than average for Oak Park). Otherwise, they have a good selection, calzones & pizza for the boy and salads & subs for me. I didn’t know about the italian ice, I’ll have to give that a try next time!

I think this place is a great deal. When I am alone, I will usually get a slice of the meatlovers(bacon, pepperoni and sausage) pizza. One slice will take care of me and I tend to be a decent eater. When picking up for the wife and kids, I will pickup two orders of pasta(no sauce), 1 order of meatballs, 1 order of sausage. I have them put the sauce with the meatballs and sausage. They give you fresh bread rolls as well. Quality is very good. This meal cost me approximately $ 15. I do not think that one could spend less making it at home from scratch.

Decent food, decent prices. The menu is kind of weak and parking is dreadful., but if you’re driving by it and you’re hungry, by all means give them a shot.

I lived on Austin just north of Madison for 6 years. When Nick’s opened, I was very happy, b/c they have *excellent* pizza! The crust is not too thin — it’s like a Philly pizza crust(good stuff). They use great sausage and pile on the toppings(try bacon, spinach, and ricotta — it’ll make a believer out of you!). For awhile they had a deal where they’d give you money off if you called and said«I love Nick’s!» Well, that was easy to do. They had delivery to my old place in 20 min flat, every time. And if you stop in, they have a deal where you can get a huge slice of pizza(equiv. of 2 slices from a large pizza) and a can of soda(that’s right, Chicagolanders, I just said soda) for around $ 3. Fantastic!
