This is a really cool store. It’s got an excellent selection of gifts from all over the world: wind chimes, dream catchers, water features/fountains, statuettes and figurines of all kinds of animals and deities, bamboo and bonsai plants, an array of incense and burners, jewelry and malas, housewares, lamps, decorative accents, etc. Everything seems to be of quality and handled with care. If you’re into anything intercultural, Asian-influenced, new-age, Buddhist, or of the like — you’ll find something here that interests you. The only complaint I have(and it’s a small one) was that the owner made me feel a bit uncomfortable. He watched us like a hawk the whole time we were in there(which I can understand because I’m sure he just wants to protect his merchandise), but it kind of made us feel unwelcome, especially since the place already has surveillance cameras. The first time we went in we didn’t buy anything, and when we left we thanked him and told him to have a nice rest of his day — and we were ignored. The second time we went in we bought something but at the counter he made a comment about my body right in front of my boyfriend. It was meant to be a compliment, I’m sure, but he’s significantly older than me and I’m in my 20s… It was a bit awkward and made me uncomfortable. The store itself is very nice, though. If you need a gift for that new-agey friend of yours(or for yourself), I recommend you look here.

I seriously love this place. It’s in the top four places I am going to seriously miss about moving from Chicago. When I want some incense this is my first stop. They have a pretty decent selection from boxed, to hand dipped, Japanese, to Indian, Sticks, Cones, Spirals, oils, burners, they have it all. When ever I go in I smile at the man working the counter. We have nice conversations about business and what have you, although I still don’t know his name now that I think about it. Sometimes there is a different guy working but not too often. Anyway, I always walk right up to the counter and put my messenger bag by the front counter. The shop is filled with beautiful and break able things I don’t need my bag to knock over anything. There is jewelry for sale with various prices and styles. Ask the guy at the counter to try on the rings back there. I seriously love this store. When I first started going it wasn’t the most comfortable but then I started talking to the guy at the counter, he is really knowledgable about the store, and can help you select gifts if you want. Super sweet and gives me discounts because I come in and talk to him. Looking for a present for someone, this is my first stop. Often my only stop as I can find something in here anytime. From lucky bamboo, bonsai, jewelry, incense, lamps, charms, blank books, figures, mobiles, statues, anything. I love, love, love this store.

This place is packed with an array of furniture, lamps, incense, bonsai trees and lots of other exotic objects. The prices are very reasonable and Paul, the owner, is knowledgable as he imports the items from Southeast Asia himself. Check this place out, you will almost certainly find something to take home with you.

I used to go into this place a LOT when I was in HS. Maybe it was because of the hours they were open, but I thought they closed this place a long time ago. I happened to pass by while they were open a couple of weekends ago, and had to leave before I spent all of my cash. I was able to find really cool incense burners for a good price. Considering it’s downtown Oak Park, the prices were run of the mill which was great. The guy threw in some free incense(scents he recommended), which we love! I’ll definitely be back again now that I know their days and hours of operation. Years ago, I bought a turtle made of rose quartz from this place, which broke recently. So while I was there last month I bought another turtle made of jade.(Just an idea of the other stuff they sell.) They carry baoding balls, Chinese zodiac mugs, silver charms, mood rings, asian lamps, as well as a few African and Egyptian statues/carvings, etc.
