It is fine, if a little dated. I got my cookie. That is always cool when staying at a Doubletree. They have a very good and very reasonably priced breakfast buffet. They get an extra star just for that. I would stay here again. My only gripe was that the TV in my room didn’t work. This place could use a refresh. It has a very 90s feel. They have a nice indoor pool. I could see staying here on a personal trip with the family. They lost the buffet-related extra star because the internet speed is horrid. It worked well for a little bit both nights, but then it slowed to a crawl. It is very frustrating. I ran a speedtest; .47mb/s. That is about as fast as DSL from 15 years ago for reference.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The interaction with their staff was pleasant and the hotel was very accommodating to anything that our group needed. Thank you so much; I would recommend staying here:) P. S. My shower was super hot and the water pressure was impressive! Haha

My family stayed there last night, and it did not meet double tree expectations. It was a decent Hampton Inn, but I would not recommend it if you are expecting Double Tree standards.

Pretty nice place to stay for several nights. I do like the fact that its a Hilton Rewards place. The food in the resturant wasn’t too bad either. It has a bar.

Stayed here because they allowed pets and was super impressed. Everyone was friendly and prompt, the room was clean and comfy, and the placement of our room perfect(at the end of the hall so that if the dogs did make noise they would bother too many people. I will gladly stay here again.

I had a very pleasant stay here during a recent business trip. Bed was extra comfy and while I still couldn’t sleep due to jet lag from the pacific time zone, it was quite comfy regardless. Bar makes a decent manhattan. Gym is pretty bad, but the pool is good.

I’ve never spent a night at the Double Tree(I live in this city, you know), and I’ve never booked an event here, but I’ve attended plenty — and those events are what this review is based on. The Double Tree is the only full-service hotel in Oak Ridge, meaning its the only one that incorporates a sit-down restaurant and has full-size facilities for meetings and receptions. It also has an extensive atrium lobby that features a dramatic 5-story-high glassed-in elevator and some classy artwork, a swimming pool, and some semi-enclosed courtyard areas that connect to footpaths and exercise trails on the Oak Ridge Associated Universities campus and Oak Ridge Civic Center area. It’s a pleasant setting for an event, but not perfect. Downsides include a long walk from the meeting room area to the restrooms and lack of a coatroom(or racks) in the hallway/foyer outside the meeting rooms. Also, the space never quite works right for event organizers who set up check-in tables outside the meeting room to hand out name tags or collect money. The menu for events at the Double Tree almost always seems to include chicken in some form(chicken breasts with salad, Mexican-style chicken, chicken sauted with some sort of sauce, etc.), usually served buffet style, but fortunately the staff prepares chicken well. They also bake good yeast rolls and create salads with an abundance of good things like tasty greens(iceberg lettuce is seldom included) and juicy little tomatoes. Desserts are typical hotel banquet fare(for example, cheesecakes drizzled with raspberry sauce) — these aren’t gourmet creations to rave about, but I don’t think I’ve ever turned down one of their desserts. And this hotel has a local monopoly on Double Tree’s trademark chocolate chip cookies — if you’ve ever had one, you’ll know what I’m talking about. The best thing about the Oak Ridge Double Tree — and the best reason for my 4-star rating — is the staff. Staff loyalty is high, and the people who work behind the desk, set up rooms for special events, and serve food at those events are friendly, cooperative, resourceful, and attentive to detail. The excellent staff assures that events run smoothly.
