Unfortunately, we thought the flavors were pretty bland in the beef tacos we tried. Beef quesadilla was a bit better than standard taco, however. Queso was good with chips. Maybe we didn’t try their signature dishes and need to try again? Reasonably priced.

Pleasant servers, SUPER FAST food, and it was delicious! We had a party of 9 and we had all of our food in less than 10 minutes. I had the chorizo mexicano which ended up looking like fajitas with chorizo, very tasty. My wife had fajitas for two with her mother. It was huge and super-​good. They don’t skimp on the guac either! My son got two bean burritos with cheese sauce, the plate was filled to the brim with queso! He was thrilled.

A SMOKERS PARADISE
Great food, affordable prices, fabulous service, and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are fun and friendly. If you’re a smoker you’ll enjoy Gallo Loco even more, you’ll feel at home. There is an open area out back specifically for smoking and is so labeled. The front outside covered porch is labeled no smoking but you can smoke there also since no one will stop you, at least not when I’ve been there. If you are an e-​cig person there are no restrictions and you are welcome to smoke anywhere. If you’ve forgotten your smokes then you can likely enjoy the aerosol nicotine and associated chemicals from those near you.

I read such great reviews of this place and I have to say it did not meet my expectations. We were seated right away but the room they put us in was fairly full and it is unpleasantly loud. We had great difficulty trying to have dinner conversation die to the echoing cacophony in the room.
I feel that they should spread the patrons across the two rooms to decrease the noise. The food came out lightning quick and was okay. Not quite what I was expecting after the reviews.
May return but probably not. Atmosphere is way to loud bordering on unpleasant.

This place is awesome! We came during the lunch rush today, were immediately seated, and received our food within 10 minutes of ordering. We had the taquitos and tacos — they came with rice, beans, guac, sour cream. Everything was fresh and authentic. We really enjoyed our visit here, it’s definitely our new go-​to Mexican spot whenever we visit Oak Ridge!

Food was okay. Server was over worked and not attentive at all. Manger walked in for a few and seated but never helped. Loud and not very comfy. Not impressed.

THIS IS THE PLACE! Oak Ridge has MANY Mexican restaurants, but this is the one you need to remember. We eat here regularly and every aspect of this restaurant gets 5 stars from food (first and foremost) to cleanliness and fast and friendly service. Give it a try and you will NOT be disappointed. Its family owned and the owners are always there and open ears if you happen to have any questions or concerns.

Our bowling group frequently chooses this site. Great service, cold beer, lots of super food choices. If too crowded, Soup Kitchen is just across the street

This is an amazing restaurant! The atmosphere is unsurpassed and the food is amazing. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is fresh, hot and tasty. The location is clean and modern. My family never eats at other Mexican restaurants since discovering Gallo Loco!

Made my first visit to Gallo Loco today, so this review is a bit tentative. My group ate out on the patio — the patio is a pleasant feature of this location, which has been the site of several other restaurants in recent years. My «Gallo Loco Special» (from the lunch menu) was a tasty combination of chicken and veggies over rice with a light cheese sauce — good Mexican flavor, and not the «gut bomb» that sometimes comes with this cuisine. Service was prompt. I’ll be back!

This review used to be one star. I am updating it after our second visit in almost two years (last visit was March of 2014). The atmosphere and service was awesome (was the first time too) and this time the food was much better than so long ago. I felt like I needed to be fair and redo my review.

My wife and I have eaten in this new restaurant three or four times. It is now our favorite Tex Mex restaurant in this area. It has complete bar service. A medium margarita comes in a large mug and tastes delicious according to the wife. I wonder what size they call large! Similarly a medium draft beer. The food is freshly cooked and delicious, the service is friendly and prompt. We wish their salsa was chunkier and made with fresh ingredients rather then canned. That would get the fifth star from us. Who knew we needed another Tex Mex place in town! We think it is the best of the lot.
