You know. This place isn’t half bad. Of course you have mega doubts walking in because the furnishings are worn and the place is not exactly .ahem…upscale looking. But for ~$ 10 during the lunch buffet you can get a huge plate full of food. The chinese food section is not super flavorful. But the soups are good and the fried egg rolls are good. The american food section tastes as good as any cafeteria. The sushi section has variety. And the desserts include pastries, frozen yogurt and fruits. Actually, I’m thrilled they have a good salad section. Pick your greens and veggies and dressing and cheese and nuts and all the fixings just how you like it. Service was attentive and constantly asks if you need a refill. Since it’s Oak Ridge and never crowded it’s always easy in and easy out here. There you have it, folks.

Great range of selections on the hot bar ranging form Mac and cheese to General Tso’s chicken. If something on the bar isn’t as fresh as you would like it to be just ask for more and they will have it out for you quickly. The fresh hibachi ingredients are really good if you prefer your food cooked to your specifications right in front of you. Its great for large groups as they have a lot of seating.

It’s not expensive and it’s hardly packed. Food choices are okay. Just remember, you get what you pay for. But it’s not terrible. They have my wonton soup and rice noodles. That makes me very happy.

Close your eyes and let the scent of stale water and fish greet your senses as soon as you enter the door. This is due to the unmaintained waterfall feature in the entrance. When they first opened it was good food. Now they just don’t give crap(but your body will A LOT). And if your unlucky enough to have to use the restroom there at least you will be able to poo yourself under the cloud painted sky.

Love the atmosphere and décor. The selection of sushi was more than I expected. Wide variety of food — we loved it

Not that impressed. The sushi was good, but the rest of the food I had wasn’t. The food was barely warm for a couple of the dishes. The hot and sour soup tasted off. The dessert tasted stale. Lunch buffet was $ 4 for my 3 year old. Not worth it.

Bruce K’s review hit the nail on the head all around. So read his for a better understanding. This being said, the place isn’t very good, but compared to other generic Asian buffets in the area, this is definitely one of the better ones. If you’re in the Oak Ridge area and really just craving a ton of subpar generic Asian food, this is your place. However, I hope that’s never the case.

You gotta go just to see the ceiling in the women’s bathroom! Then, if you have a masochistic side, eat. Eat anything… Bring tums. Lots and lots of tums! We went in there because there were a bunch of cars in the lot. We figured that this meant good food. We were wrong! It’s a BIG buffet with lots of absolutely AWFUL food served by surly staff. Go…just to see the bathroom ceiling. Then run like hell out of there unless you like being ill.

This place is awful. The only thing I found edible was the hot and sour soup. The food was greasy and tasted like it came out of a can. The wait staff were rude and tip boxes were everywhere. I’ll never go back. My stomach can’t handle it! Do yourself a favor. Go anywhere else or just don’t have dinner.

I’m disappointed. They use to be great; the food was fresh and interesting, the prices were okay, and MOST of all the staff was friendly. We would stop in with a huge party and got smiles, great service, and an occasional origami crane for one of the kids. Now you walk in and it’s dark, dirty, and the staff looks at you like you just ran over their dog. Going in just before 4:00 we thought we would get a lunch price, but they have bumped dinner time back 10 minutes to 3:50pm. We paid $ 5 for my 3 year old daughter to have a little plate of Jello and a cookie. Those of us over 3 years old got stale, greasy food that all tasted like it had plopped out of a can and microwaved. It’s just sad to see a great little business fall apart like this. I’d rather take my family to fast food 3 times than go here once.

First visit when they first opened was okay. Second visit today was not. I have been sick since I came home. Sushi was good however the hot bar was not real hot and nothing had any flavor. Much prefer Hibachi Grill on Kingston Pike.

Formerly Super China Buffet. Excellnt service, great variety, several non-Asian dishes for the kids. Never had a bad meal, and I eat here very often.

We went, we ate, we did become full. Sushi was kind of bland, and the rest wasn’t good, wasn’t terrible. The décor however was great! Price was reasonable. Doubt I will return. Chink Wok even w/o sushi is infinitely better.

Twice I’ve been here. Twice no wontons in the wonton soup. How can you call it wonton soup without wontons?

Some people seem to enjoy only dissing restaurants. As far as I’m concerned, this place is a great addition to the Oak Ridge area. It’s clean, very attractive, and the servers are very accommodating and will even make special orders, if you request something not on the buffet line(i.e. egg foo yung). The only thing I don’t like is having to pay in advance and decide then if I am having anything to drink other than water — and then having to show the receipt. Other than that, we have thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the food, even if we do eat too much!

Limited options, not that great of ingredients, and well it’s a buffet. You know me if you have read my reviews and how I feel about buffets. It seems like whenever I go into a buffet, I always seem to have a mindset of eating as much as possible(without throwing up) to get my money’s worth. That agenda is so out of whack with what eating food should really be like, it’s just messy. However, since I was curious on how the buffets were out here, I decided to take a peek. Supposedly(from word of mouth) this place used to be another buffet, but the management closed that place down and started this restaurant. What I got, was a bit disappointing. Most buffets usually sacrifice quality for beating prices.(Notice I said most… because those buffets in Las Vegas are just too amazing!) Now, for this one, definitely trying to beat that price. So, for lunch it was about $ 8 for all you can eat. Was it worth it to me? Not really. Sushi, well, I wouldn’t call it sushi. I would call it something along the lines of seaweed and rice mixed with crab meat and veggies? Let’s just say they didn’t have what Sushi’s main ingredient: some sort of raw fish. Maybe it’s not in the taste of the public here? Or, that it’s one of those sacrifices to beat the price. They did have a lot of deep fried foods and baked foods. The shell fish that they baked were okay?(Filled with cheese, other stuff that I can’t identify) I felt like most of all the dishes were pretty salty or sweet. There just wasn’t anything that made me say: «I’m coming back for this, because it’s amazing.» Even though I’m not a buffet lover, there are definitely better ones.

We only had sushi and hot & sour soup. The soup was really good! The sushi selection was amazing and all very good. The place was very clean and service was pretty good. It’s a buffet, not much to say service-wise. I walked around to see what else was offered to eat and the buffet selection seems varied. The restrooms were very clean.

The staff and servers from the Super China Buffet have moved and opened the Golden Oak Grill Buffet. A beautifully redecorated interior(this was a former chain restaurant) complete with a new entry way and a water feature now, hosts one of the prettiest and tastiest Chinese Buffets in town. A hibachi grill chef will be happy to prepare your custom selected ingredients on a hibachi grill with your choice of meats, vegetables and sauces. A sushi chef is behind the serving line preparing multitudes of various kinds of sushi, sushi rolls, California rolls, and other raw fish delicacies. A variety of salads and fresh fruit selection comes next, and then you arrive at the dessert stations. In addition to almond cookies, a perennial Chinese restaurant favorite, you will find those delicious, decorative chinese pastries, cookies, puddings, frozen soft serve yogurt and soft serve vanilla, chocolate and a mixed-swirl ice cream. In addition to a new entry way, new seating has been added with padded leather-lined booths in addition to free standing tables. The bathrooms have been remodeled with state of the art touchless faucets, hot air hand dryers and beautifully decorated counters and toilet facilities. The servers now wear beautiful Chinese-themed blouses with a golden satin leapoard print and royal purple fabric. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the restaurant also offers carry-out service for a meal to go.
