Really liked my gyro! When I pulled up for lunch with a friend I was questioning my buddy’s choice. But I am glad I went with his recommendation. I would recommend.

Sorry. I have to say I have yet to find a Gyro that takes me back to days of yore. I will keep searching. It was hard to find– it’s at the end of a series of shops around the corner.

So, I rarely eat out, but when I do, it’s usually here. And oh my goodness, what a place! Everything I’ve eaten(which is everything vegetarians) is an explosion of flavor and joy in your mouth. It almost makes you want to cry with joy because of how delicious it is. The owners, Riyaad and Naja are some of the nicest people you will meet, too! You also get your food pretty quickly. Come at least once. There’s a good chance you’ll leave with a new favorite restaurant. Let me recommend the falafel wrap. It’s my favorite. So is everything else, but the falafel wrap is my favorite favorite!

hmmm… I’m a little confused as to how/why this place is so raved about. In their defense, we did order it to go and something gets lost in translation from take-out 9 times out of 10. The 7 layer dip tasted more like 7 years old dip. It was just flavorless and it had cheese! How can cheese have no taste? Only if it is old. My assumption is that this dip had been sitting for a few days and the only thing you could taste were the olives. Gross. The hummus was interesting. It was thick but yet runny. I will say lumpy. That is probably the best way to describe it. The pita bread was that kind that is basically a cut up wrap. You know what I mean… we’ve all had that before. The falafel wrap wasn’t bad… just wasn’t anything special. My associate had the Chicken Kabob and said it was disgusting. She said it was spiceless and tasted old as dirt. The sauce that was served on the side was so nasty it almost made her throw up. The rice was dry. Overall we were disappointed. Maybe we came on an off day. I am sure they have some things that are their specialty but we really didn’t enjoy our meals. Sad to say.

Great family owned mediterranean food. Basically a to go place. Wonderful, fresh food. Lamb wraps are amazing, but then pretty much all else is great too.

Had high expectations I guess from reading others reviews. I was disappointed in the flavors, too much oil, and lack of fresh pita. I am sorry to say it just feel flat for me, I have had much better.

I was in the mood for Mediterranean, so came here for a late lunch. It was a little difficult to find, as it is tucked away from the main road in the back of a strip mall. I was surprised to discover there was no indoor seating, and two tables with umbrellas just outside. It was hot, but breezy so it turned out fine. I ordered the chicken kabob combination plate, which came with hummus, a small salad and rice. It was delicious and very flavorful! Would definitely come back again, but for pick up only!

I’ve seen this place on Unilocal a dozen times and skipped over it for places I knew were good until today. What a fool I’ve been… This is one of the best Mediterranean places I’ve ever found and definitely one of my top 5 favorite hole in the wall restaurants. I’ve been back twice already this week and plan to bring several more with me tomorrow.

I finally got around to trying this place. I got grape leaves, baba ganouj, and lamb shawarma. Service was great. Food was very good. The grape leaves were fresh, stuffed with rice and spices. Baba ganouj was super tasty. Pita slices were fresh. I need to ask if we can special order lamb stuffed grape leaves. And the lamb shawarma was good, though it could have used a little more meat.

It’s so awesome to have found this place! It’s a bit difficult and don’t plan on eating there because there’s no room, but man the hummus is very good and the gyro pita I had was amazing! Go there now!

After living in UAE for 2 years, I was craving middle eastern food. My son suggested Mediterranean Delight. It did not disappoint. Alhumdallah! It was delicious! We had hummus, baba ganooj, samosas, sabusak, falafel, and grilled chicken. I will definitely recommend.

This place is a hidden gem of oak ridge. The food is out of this world amazing. The owner is the friendliest guy you’ll ever meet. We went the first time my husband and I, we ate there. My husband was already craving it the next day when I wasn’t home so he called in an order, the guy recognized his voice and asked how I was and if we wanted the same thing we ordered yesterday. That amazes me, I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast but a stranger can pick up on my husbands voice and remember our order, amazing. Love love love this place!

I have never had a bad meal here. The combo plate is perfect. Everything is made when you order it. You can call in your order and it’s ready when you get there. Seating can get tight(there are some tables outside and a room next to the business to sit) but it is well worth it. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant.

I spend a lot of time in Oak Ridge and West Knoxville for business. I have eaten everywhere in town. Mostly, it’s predictable chain restaurants. However, Mediterranean delight is a small, family owned restaurant that serves healthy ethnic lunches, a nice oasis in the bland Oak Ridge restaurant scene. Everything is cooked to order, so it takes a couple minutes to get your lunch. The food is pretty high quality as a result. They have a number of combo platters and refreshing salads. Like most Mediterranean places, the food seems pretty healthy. The portions are good sized as well. I will continue to go to Mediterranean Delight…

This is one of those places that you want to support so they stay in business but don’t want the word out too much because you don’t want to come there to a line out the door. The food is fantastic lots of flavor and freshness. I am partial to the chicken skewers. I usually get it with the pita. Their pita is a little bit thin, I wish they’d make it a little bit thicker but overall no complaints. All of their sides are fantastic. I haven’t had any desserts but the last time I was there somebody bought every single piece so I’m assuming they’re good. It’s in a very awkward setting unless you have a small party don’t plan on staying there to eat. They have a small room next to their place that they have to open with keys but that’s pretty tight in there. Five stars all the way. (I recently went here again and as usual everything was perfect. I tried the this time and WOW– it was amazing. Now I know why they are always out of it when I get there.

What can I say? one thing that I love to find are random hole in the wall’s. Driving up to this restaurant in the backside of abandoned office suites, you feel a little skeptical when you look at it from the outside. You start to question whether this place is any good, or the least whether you should even go inside. The minute you step in you immediately reach the counter greeted by an older middle eastern man. He’s friendly, and easy to talk to. The menu is interesting, lots of very authentic greek-named items that you may or may not understand. I ordered a chicken shwarma, while my partner ordered a lamb shwarma. Absolutely delicious! ingredients were very fresh, the lamb was actual real bite-sized pieces of lamb. Their desert pastries may look questionable inside the cabinet. but indeed very deceiving. Prices are excellent! and there is additional seating next door if you don’t want to have your food to-go. I would recommend coming here if you just want something easy, light, delicious, and fairly cheap. The man is also very interesting to talk to. He is highly intellectual and lived in Oak Ridge for many years.

A little tricky to find: on the back-right corner of the back row of a sparsely populated strip mall. Great food here. The baba ganoush(roasted eggplant dip) is the best I’ve ever had. Moussaka, grape leaves, kebab all solid choices. If you want to try something unique, check out their lasagna, which puts a Mideastern spin on the classic dish. It’s not much to look at from outside, but once you’re in and smell the place you know you’re in good hands. It’s possible to eat here, but I’ve always gotten food to go. Food is cooked to order, so if you’re in a hurry call in. They do great party platters if you want to feed a crew. They also carry a small selection of grocery items(olives, tahini, etc) for sale.

At Mediterranean Delight, «Mediterranean» means the foods of the eastern Mediterranean region(places like Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, and Israel) — hummus, baba ganouj, kebabs, tabouleh, pita bread, stuffed grape leaves, tabouli, moussaka, baklava, and the like. The delicious offerings are available only for takeout, although they’ve added a seating area in a hole-in-the-wall storefront next door — for those who can’t take the food home, or just prefer to eat close to the kitchen. The tiny shop can be hard to find. It’s in seedy-looking surroundings on the back side of the Ridgeway Center shopping center — although the address is Bus Terminal Road, it’s actually much closer to Division Road.(From Division Road, you can get to it from the unmarked entrance road just north of the auto body shop. Alternatively, turn off Oak Ridge Turnpike into the«Methodist Medical Therapy» lot — and follow the driveway on the right to pass the big Methodist Medical building and find Mediterranean Delight back behind things.) Don’t let the surroundings worry you — the friendly, hard-working couple who own and operate the place(and who hail from Jordan, I recently learned) take pride in quality, as indicated by the high score on the restaurant inspection sheet posted on the wall. They can accommodate pretty much any appetite, offering appetizer plates, salads, sandwiches, complete dinners, and catering trays with lots of choices to serve a crowd. Vegetarians will not feel restricted, as many menu items are meat-free. Customers are advised to call ahead, and allow about 20 minutes for hot entrees that are cooked to order, such as beef kebabs and chicken tawook(skewered chicken, served with rice). Hours vary — they tend to close a 7 pm most of the year, but may be open later in the summer.
