The Secret City Scenic tour was not scenic and the passenger car was shabby. The train runs through the K-25 plant which is now dilapidated and depressing. Once past the plant, the train runs through a rural section of shanties and littered creeks. The passenger train was dirty and I found several screws and other hardware scattered about. On the bright side, the staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the history of Oak Ridge and mechanical details of train restoration. I believe the staff are all volunteers as well. The price was $ 19 for adults and $ 15 for children and the trip lasted about an hour. For this price, I have had more scenic and better accommodated trips on Amtrak.
