Went camping for the first time in my life here a few weeks ago. Went with 6 of my cousins, ranging from ages 16 – 25. We went on a weekend in late August. Once we found our tenting campground, which was very nice, not too secluded, had a firepit and run-down picnic table, we set up two 6-person tents and settled in. The firepit provided is definitely not one to cook on. we brought a small coal grill and even dug a hole in which we put coals in and covered with a grill grate, which just about doubled the amount we were able to cook. Since not all of us are of age, we didn’t drink. Instead, we were looking forward to going swimming in the lake, and playing frisbee, basketball, and volleyball on the courts provided. We were not expecting to see such a run down promise. the lake is not much larger than a pond, and was covered in so much algae that you couldn’t pay me to swim in it. the field we would’ve played frisbee on looked like the grass hadn’t been cut in years, and the basketball and volleyball courts looked like scenes from a scary movie. the nets were all torn and tattered, so we didn’t even bother to set foot on them. So there was really nothing for us to do except cook, eat, and talk, which we did a lot of. But on top of not having much to do, the owners of this campground are anything but friendly. For first time campers, we didn’t know what to expect, but these people assumed the worst of us, and implied that we were stealing wood, and speeding around the grounds in our cars. we weren’t even close to doing either. For a group of younger people looking to drink and be loud and only eat hot dogs for a whole weekend, this is probably the place to do it. But for people actually looking to do activities ON the campsite, keep searching around.

Just stayed here. Lots of RV sites but a bunch of tent sites as well. All sites are wooded, some are pretty secluded. Has a small but nice lake right on the campground, no fishing license needed. We caught a smallmouth, largemouth, and pickerel, plus sunnies. A small beach/swimming area as well. We built a huge fire, drank alcohol, and played the radio all day and had no complaints or problems from ownership, and we never saw our neighbors. One of the better campgrounds we’ve visited.
