Diners, Drive-ins and Dives needs to find this place. This IS a diner. This IS a dive! First off… there is something for everyone. It’s mainly sandwiches but they have burgers and salads and desserts. You DO order at a counter. You do fill your own beverage and get your own dessert. Seating is a free for all. Sit in or out. Your food is brought to you by staff and your table is also cleared by staff so please leave a tip at the counter jar. I grabbed a free piece of cake because of Unilocal and my check in on the site. Dark chocolate cake. Moist Way too sweet. My teeth hurt. Hey! Go here before going to Oak Ridge Playhouse! I went on a Sunday afternoon. Perfect time. Busy but not ridiculous. My lunch was a black bean burger with lettuce and tomato and pickle. I ordered a side salad with blue cheese and a glass of ice water. My bill was $ 8 roughly. This is so not on a main stretch and you have to know about it or you’ll end up at a food chain restaurant. For that reason… GO!

As my father owned a bar/restaurant/pizza parlour in Jersey, I dig local joints. I read the Unilocal reviews and said to myself, «Self, we’re going there.» A friend and I met there and ordered beers and food. My burger was like $ 8 and no fries however her salad was substantial. The burger was okay but not great. I will give them another chance.

Wow, finally got to try this today I had a fantastic sandwich called the lemon, and delicious Hannah ’ s fries, complete with cheddar cheeee, bacon and fresh Pico de gallo. My sandwich was served on one of the best gluten free hoagie buns, ever. No room for it, but they also had a flour less chocolate cake. My husband had a pattie melt on marbled rye, that looked fantadtic, fries and a delicious peanut butter milk shake. Such a big menu, so much to choose from, and we were there on a Sunday so they were still serving breakfast. They totally get the gluten free stuff.

Oh Man, THISPLACE! Its the hidden burger place of Oak Ridge! I found this by the guiding of Unilocalers, and I’m so glad I did! This place has about 30 or more different options for eating here, and of course they all look incredible! I had an awesome Turkey burger and my boyfriend had the Tobin-which instead of buns had grilled cheeses! We had spicy fries and an awesome(free) milkshake to go with.(check-in for a free dessert on the Unilocal app!). Everything was amazing and I want to go back to try everything else! That crawfish sandwich is calling my name as I type! I live in Knoxville, and the drive really isn’t bad– and 100% worth it to come to this whole in the wall.

We stopped in for a casual dinner tonight based on the great reviews we found here on Unilocal.I’m so glad that i listened — because you guys weren’t kidding!!! It was fairly quiet when we went in, which turned out to be a good thing because their menu is no joke — it’s almost a little intimidating due to the shear size of it and I was a little afraid to make a decision because so many things sounded so interesting. I finally settled on the Chicken in a Sac while my husband opted for the Bacon double cheeseburger and we shared a side of fries(so glad we shared because I had leftovers as it was!) My daughter had the chicken fingers and fries(no surprise there — she’s 5!!!) We also tried their homemade milkshakes, and they were an absolute blast from the past. The customers started flowing in pretty steadily once we were seated, and I can certainly see why. Although everything was cooked fresh to order, we didn’t have to wait long and everything was perfect. I have to say that the food was without a doubt, worthy of the five star review on its own but what really put us over the edge was their commitment to quality and to customer satisfaction. During the cooking process, half of my pita bread had apparently torn while being put together. Instead of making me wait(which I would have understood — accidents happen) or serving it anyway(again, i would have been ok) the cook explained what happened to the server(it’s an open kitchen, so we were able to hear) and asked him to deliver the half of the sandwich which hadn’t torn so that I could start eating with my family while he prepared an entire new sandwich for me. I didn’t ask for them to do anything extra, they did it on their own because they obviously care that their customers have a good experience. They just earned themselves a repeat customer. As for the food, the chicken was tender and marinated in an incredible sauce. The sandwich was delicious and HUGE! My husband loved his burger and it was cooked exactly to his liking(they were also happy to accommodate special requests such as no onions, mustard, etc.) And, although she’s 5 my daughter was raving about the chicken tenders and asking if we could come back again before we’d even gotten out the door. The only part of the meal that I probably wouldn’t order again were the fries and it’s honestly not because there was anything wrong with them — they were ordinary fries(a little salty for me, but that’s just my opinion as I tend not to use lots of salt normally) but as they were kind of ordinary there are lots of order great looking sides that I would probably just try something else next time instead. The dining room and bathrooms were clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was well priced, delicious, and the portions were generous. I’ll be back!

Oh Other One. It takes some time to unlock all your secrets, and I’m glad that I took the time and did it. I have been coming to here ever since I have learned that they do lettuce wraps. And do they do it right. I’m positive that everyone that comes here has their own default order and as usual I have mine. The one thing I order, unless I want to try something different, is the Tank in a lettuce wrap. It’s literally a wrap after that.(You see what I did there? Creative, I know.) I really should try some of their other options, but I just have to say that lettuce wrap is just so damn good! This is my go to place if I’m craving for a burger. I will be sure to go down the list on their burgers eventually, but for the time being… another Tank with lettuce wrap please!

Found this place researching Diners, drive ins and dives. A Dive it is, and I love me a little dive! Tucked into a old style shopping center, the staff is friendly. They quickly picked up our accents(let me be clear we don’t have an accent, they do!)and we friendly discussed the differences. The burgers were amazing, flat griddle style on a very good bun. The beer selection was good, and the prices are low. Do a little tease arch and go find this place!

Great food, a little odd as far as atmosphere goes, but really great food!!! I highly recommend the yo-yo or cheesy Yost! Also, the peanut butter bacon burger(minus the bacon, in my case) and PB sliders are really fantastic!

Overall, this place was great. The only beef(bah dum tssh!) that I had with this place was that we had a fairly decent party(4 adults, 1 young toddler) and they didn’t help arrange the tables to accommodate us. The other knock was giving me the wrong order, bringing correct one, but dropping it and offering me wrong one again. To be fair, I appreciated that the server was just trying to make sure I wasn’t going hungry with all the great food around me and simply was hardput to find a good solution for that situation. My general experience remained positive. The food, itself, was delicious! The dropped food I mentioned was quickly devoured by my pups. Speaking of, they were very accommodating to my dogs. We were hardpressed to find locations that allowed my fur babies to dine with us and the server was kind enough to take a moment and ask if she could pet them(which, permission granted, she proceeded to do) and made us feel all the more welcome. Coming from out of state, it was a wonderful atmosphere, hustlin’ and bustlin’.

I ordered the Tobin– GOODGOD. Wife had the Monkey Surprise– Very good to start with for being first time there. Daughter had Mushroom Swiss– She loved it. The service was great and friendly. The place is clean. The chaulkboard menu is cool– wish they had pictures of the food for first timers. I sat there looking at my order for about 1 ½ min. as if it was taunting me to eat it. I kept saying,“Two grilled cheese as buns on a double burger”. Sure you read it– but when you see it. It’s as if you can’t belive you ordered it. If you’ve heard of this place and have’nt gone — -WHY NOT !? !? You might want to consult your Doctor. Maybe tell him what you plan to order.

Delicious! You must try the buffalo chips, they are amazing. The wait staff was awesome. When they found out we were just roaming around Tennessee they excitedly told us about all kinds of places to go. I highly recommend this place!

Really should have tried the burger apparently! I really liked the atmosphere and diversity of the menu. I was disappointed with my wrap that I chose mainly because it tasted like something you would get at a grab n go grocery store. However, I did try some of the other plates that the people I was with ordered and really enjoyed them. The brownie was stupid good and I really just wanted to eat 5 of those for dinner and call it a night! I will definitely go back and grab something different next time.

I love places like this. A feel good stop with pleasant people serving their passion on a plate to be handled loving with both hands and tastes buds ready. I went for four different sliders and some fried pickles and a salted caramel shake… I know I know. Not exactly a healthy move but it was a speacial occasion. I particularly enjoyed the pizza burger. Whoda thunk? Definitely worth your time and money. If I return to area ill be sure to visit again.

This place was really full when we came in on Thursday. I liked all the seating options they had; seems like they added an extra seating area in the back because they had too many on the front. There’s also outside seating. Excellent sandwiches. I had the banh mi with chicken, which was really not that far away from the ones I’ve had at Vietnamese places. The vegetables were nice and crunchy, while the chicken was very flavorful. Really excellent, although I think I’ll try something new next time(there are too many to try!) Only thing I docked a star for is the restaurant building itself. It’s kind of drab, but you don’t really notice it after a while. Five stars for the food, though. I absolutely love the«mom-and-pop» kind of feel everything has. One sandwich I’d really like to try is the Tobinator. It’s two patties but instead of buns, it has grilled cheese sandwiches. Really great place overall! Will definitely be back if I’m in the area.

Oak Ridge isn’t exactly known as a culinary Mecca, but there are still a few gems in this town that are worth turning off the main drag for. This is one of those places. First the bad, well to be fair, the marginal. The place is small. If you come with a party bigger than 4, you won’t be sitting at the same table(especially when it gets busy). That’s about it for the negatives! On to why you MUST come here. The burgers are the best in Oak Ridge hands down. They have 15 – 20 unique burger choices ranging from 1/3lb to a monster 4lb challenge aptly named the«Fat Man». The burgers are properly prepared to a medium doneness and the ingredients are plentifully added. The burger I ordered called«Smokey and the Bacon Bits» was recommended as the staff favorite and certainly was worthy. It should be noted that the menu is dizzying. You will need a few minutes beforehand to look over the delectable choices. It was really hard for me to choose. My friend got a massive 1lb burger called the«Tobinater» that was 2 ½lb patties and bacon sandwiched between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. OMG. The curly fries were good but to be honest I was looking forward to hand cut and battered onion rings, but was a bit let down, however it didn’t detract from my overall impression of this gem of an eatery. I will be back. You should come here. You will be back too.

They have a large variety of sandwiches and burgers. There is even one called peanut butter burger! You can’t beat the price of these burgers. They are so cheap! I had the crawfish poboy. I think it would have been better if I got the shrimp po boy because I thought the crawfish was salty and it didn’t go well with their garnish. My bf had mushroom Swiss burger and it was good. Nothing special, it’s not something he would come back for. Overall, this is a good place especially in oak ridge where there aren’t any places like it. The staff was friendly!
