University of Tennessee Arboretum

Beautiful spot. Well taken care of. I enjoy the trails here in this tucked-​away sanctuary. The canopy provides lots of shade as you walk along the paths and the pools of water make for a great backdrop. If you are no botanist (I am plant-​challenged, folks!) then this is a great place to start for some plant education. The trails and plants are well-​marked so you’ll walk away learning at least a thing or two about your favorite tree or flower. I wasn’t prepared for how lovely the fragrance would be or how many beautiful birds I would spy here. What an ecological wonder. After doing some research online, I’m impressed with how vast the forest unit is here. This spot is easy to find right off the road and the easy access makes it very inviting. I can’t wait to come again in the Fall.
