CREAMCHEESEWONTONS. Do you, oh casual diner, do you KNOW that you cannot just get cream cheese wontons just ANYWHERE? It is like a Minnesota-Chinese food culinary ANOMALY. Take heart that you have a Lee Ann Chin’s. Eat those wontons, and never leave.

please give me a glass of water! Sodium overload… Went here because a co-worker had a coupon buy one get one. So we managed to pick out two entrees with fried rice. I had sweet and sour chicken and orange chicken. She had two spicy things. I just was really not interested in much of it because it appeared like it had been sitting in the warming case for hours and not fresh-then when i got it –it did not taste fresh either. Too mushy too salty… won’t bother with it again!

Over the years, it has been sad to see some of Lee Ann Chin’s locations close, especially the one in the train depot in St. Paul. My grandmother knew her personally; I never got to meet her which would have been nice, but got a picture with her bombshell of a daughter. Anyhow, after my aunt, mother, and I shopped at the Oakdale Rainbow, I was in 7th heaven to learn that they had a Lee Ann Chin’s right on the otherside of the parking lot in a little strip mall. The guy and girl counter were very nice, as all of her employees are. They even joked around a little and offered to carry our food out for us. With such low prices, I splurged. The cream cheese puffs were crispy golden with a smooth cream cheese filling. The pot stickers, though only steamed, were excellent with an exterior that was not doughy but noodly and firm and a wonderful seasoned ground pork, ginger, and cabbage filling. The egg rolls were hyuge with perhaps a little more badder than what I am used to, but still excellent with a well seasoned medly of ground pork and vegetables. The soy sauce for the pot stickers was just right and not overpowering and the sweet and sour sauce for the egg rolls was well balanced, not too sweet or too sour. I was deciding between the sesame chicken and orange chicken when the guy said«Get a little bit of both.!» So, that is exactly what I did; the orange chicken was tender and greasless with a light badder and a subtle spicy sauce with just the right amount of ornage flavor. The sesame chicken was also tender, crispy, and greasless with a light badder with a sweet and hot sauce that hit all the right notes; the soft noodles that they were served over were light and airy with a light soy sauce that complimented the sweet and spiciness with its saltiness. My aunt and mother sharred a couple dishes and it all came to $ 25.00. What a bargin as always. So, for excellent Chinese food at rock bottom prices with friendly service in a casual atmosphere, Lee Ann Chin’s cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys.
