Great family place and food was fabulous! They have things to keep the kids entertained and we were able to enjoy our beers and margaritas. The handmade margaritas were amazing. The beer selection is great. The clam chowder is really really good! The peel and eat shrimp was small and overlooked and a friend said the hamburger was a bit too salty. But we would still come here again just for the kid-friendly atmosphere, good service and great clam chowder bowls.

After my GF ate their crab cakes… This place is the real deal. Food is great. Skip the kids section downstairs and head upstairs for the real dining experience for adults. Service is very good,

I was in town for work. Great atmosphere in the bar upstairs. The bartender asked my name and called me by name when talking to me along with all of the other locals at the bar. It made the whole experience that much better. I had the seafood pasta and it was great! Shane was the bartender.

My husband and I both order off of the sunset dinner menu. We ordered crab cakes with fries and hush puppies. They were very good! My husband order the oysters florentine for an appetizer, he thought they were awesome. I ordered a cup of their New England clam chowder and their house bread just to try a few things on the menu. The chowder was good, but with crab cakes it was too much food, my husband finished it off. The bread was ok, but the butter is what made is special. We would have rated the place 5 stars but they charge for the bread. That is something that should have been complimentary for going there to eat. The service was good, food came out quick. We will definitely be back!

GREATFORKIDS! Kids menu is on a etch-o-sketch for the kids to play with. Kids menu has over 5 options including pizza chicken strips cheese burger and butter noodles. Old school battery operated fishing game at the tables too! We had a 6 yr and 2 yr with us and they were super happy the whole time. Fish tank in the middle of the restaurant for looking at. And at the end all kids get a prize from the treasure chest. Go there with your family. Waiters and staff were warm and welcoming. I ordered the appetizer clams and mussels– very happy with it and the bread and garlic butter is yummy!

Hit or miss at the only seafood restaurant in the area. Some love the crab cakes, some feel they are substandard. I think they are ok. The fresh salmon is always good, especially in the grilled salmon salad. If it’s an adult group, eat upstairs at Roman’s Bar and you’ll avoid the families and child noise!

After a long road trip to Yosemite, some family friends and I went to the Crab Cakes restaurant. First and foremost, the waiters and waitresses were very friendly, & the service was also well. I ordered come crab cakes, while my other friends ordered snow crab legs, fish & chips, and rib eye steaks. My crab cakes were very flavorful, and I also tried some snow crab legs, and they were also very tasty ! After our great meals, we had some deserts, and like the food, was very good too. Overall, my experience at Crab Cakes restaurant was fantastic, and If you’re visiting Yosemite and is around the area, you should go here for a good quality meal.

Had dinner here after a day in Yosemite and everything was delightful. We started off with Grandma’s Crab Cakes, yummy and really stuffed with crab. We were then served complimentary bread and coleslaw, the coleslaw was ok. I had the broiled salmon with potatoes and glazed carrots, the salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were just soft enough and had a yummy butter sauce on top. I thought the carrots were just ok, my BF enjoyed them more than I did. He had the calamari filet with fries and rice pilaf. It was different, but good. For dessert we had the crème brule, mmmmm so yummy. What we REALLY enjoyed was the great service. Our server was so attentive and even gave us a map with directions for other cool places to visit near Oakhurst.

What a really nice all around family seafood restaurant! First of all the restaurant is very spacious, so great for big groups. We had a party of 8 and they didn’t have any trouble sitting us right away. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive and the service was wonderful. They took really good care of us which is amazing because some restaurants seem to fall apart when it comes to accommodating big parties. We started by sharing a couple of appetizers like coconut shrimp and hush puppies. The coconut shrimp was the best I had ever had. The coconut tasted very fresh and the shrimp was very juicy and succulent. The hush puppies were pretty darn tasty too. It seemed like everyone’s entrée came with a side of coleslaw because everyone was served coleslaw. I am not much of a fan of coleslaw because I’ve had some bad experiences with it but this coleslaw seemed to have the perfect about of flavor, I mean the amount of mayo that was added didn’t over power the taste of the cabbage at all. I ordered a large clam chowder and shared an order of lobster. The clam chowder was very nice, it had nice big chunks of potatoes and clam. If you order the large bowl it is more than enough for two people to share unless you are pretty hungry. The lobster was delicious, we ordered it steamed and it came with a side of potatoes and veggies. I mean I don’t think its very hard to mess up lobster but it was cooked perfectly. The meat was nice and tender and the melted butter OMG!!! I was very impressed with the quality of seafood from this place considering that its not close to the ocean. I would definitely return!!!

Service was good. I ordered the clam chowder bread bowl, it was very good and the portion was fair for the price. My hubby ordered the crab cake sandwich, A for effort, but it Sea(hehe ‘C’) for taste. We had an order of Oysters, they were fresh and tasted great.

Calm chowder was good Oysters were fresh but small. Server and busboy were efficient. What I didn’t like was my wife and I were seated at corner 2-person table in an empty section. Wouldn’t have thought about it except all others couples were seated at booths or bigger tables in the main hall. Guess I got the Asian table. Would have tipped 20% if not for that. Should have dined at Narrow Guage Inn instead AND I WILLNOTCOMEBACK.

Well… I don’t know how the primary focus of this place is seafood. The crab cakes had zero ZERO taste of crab. I’m sorry, but it tasted like fried stouffer’s stuffing. Neither my husband nor I found one piece of crab, but it was little threads with a lot of filling. If you go despite the bad reviews, open it up and check it out for yourself! There’s NO crab! My salmon was very dry. I didn’t eat the sides, as the potatoes tasted like they were boiled hours ago. My husband had scallops and bacon wrapped beef. The beef was good, the scallops I actually spit out. Do you know the last time I spit out food at a restaurant? I think I was 5! I’m wondering for the first time if I actually had skate scallops. You know, the ones that are made with cookie cutters and stingrays. I’m sure it was probably just poor quality scallops that were improperly cooked… I hope. I’ve eaten fresh seafood all my life and this was not fresh. Maybe it’s because they also cater, which we didn’t realize until we left the restaurant and noticed the sign. I swear both my husband and I looked at each other and said«THAT’S IT!» as we were trying to understand the experience. That’s exactly what this tasted like… bulk prepared food and subpar quality. I’m sorry… the people were very nice, but this was simply not nice food. If you don’t really like seafood, this is the place for you as you will not taste any seafood flavor on anything. Sorry again… I hate leaving bad reviews when the people were so nice.

I was very disappointed in this restaurant. I started out with the clam chowder. Unfortunately, there were no clams in it. I tried the broiled catfish. It was decent but did not blow me away. Since I was 3 hours east of the ocean, I understood it may not be the freshest seafood. I was hoping the chocolate mousse cake would redeem the restaurant. However, it was very ordinary. The décor is not great because it is a family restaurant tailored for children. On the plus side, my server was very friendly. I have eaten here quite a few times and I have never been disappointed so I am dumbfounded why they have any negative review’s at all. Maybe relatives of bitter ex-employee or competitors. We now prefer to eat upstairs in Roman’s bar because of the fun atmosphere, especially when bartenders Shane or Cole are on duty. We dined there on Wednesday September 2, 2015 to celebrate a dear friends Birthday. To our surprise we found they have 50% off wine on Wednesdays, Whoo hoo! Between the four of us we selected from the Sunset Specials and had Coconut Shrimp, New England clam chowder, Fish & Chips, and Pacific Cobb Salad. All served hot, fresh, and tasted great. All four of us were so surprised by the generous helping of crab and shrimp that was on the salad as this is the common place for restaurants to skimp to increase profits. Not Crab Cakes, lots of crab and shrimp on it. The place was very clean and service was outstanding. Thank you Melissa for such awesome service, you are an example to others! The Birthday celebration was a success! Will be returning soon.

Vacationing on the way to Yosemite, we needed a dog-friendly place for lunch. We found it. Crab Cakes has a fine covered deck, a welcoming staff and great food. They even brought over a doggie dish of water. We enjoyed the coconut shrimp and the fried catfish. Really good cole slaw recipe and to die for desserts. We never have dessert with lunch! Location is well behind the frontage of Highway 41 but does have a small sign. Good parking too.

Very tasty seafood! Rare gem on the way to yosemite. Started off with the combination(mussles and clams) appetizer. The sauce is a good mix of butter, herbs and white wine. One of the best butter white wine sauces I’ve tasted! This is a MUSTTRY. The restaurant also provided bread slices. The sauce tasted great with the bread too. We loved the sauce so much, we kept it on the table till we finished the mains in case anyone wanted more! I also had the cioppino with linguini. It came with salmon chucks, mussles, clams and crab legs. The seafood is fresh. The tomato sauce tasted good too. I’ve had better cioppino. This dish is decent. The new england clam chowder is creamy and had a good amount of clams. Awesome place for seafood. U get 15% off if you stay in some of the surrounding hotels. Will be back again!

Overpriced and not so good food = 2 stars :( — CRABANDSHRIMPSTUFFEDRAVIOLI: I could not taste the ravioli filling at all! It was like I was just eating plain pasta with marinara sauce. Waste of money. — GRANDMA’S CRABCAKES: This is what the restaurant is supposed to be known for but the dish wasn’t impressive… — CLAMCHOWDER: Best thing I ate at the restaurant but it was by no means amazing. It kind of reminded me of Chunky brand clam chowder but less chunky… — OYSTERSFLORENTINE: The oysters were too tiny. Lots of spinach and cheese topping but not enough oyster. — SURF&TURF: My dad said the crab didn’t taste fresh and it seemed like it was frozen. The turf(tournedo) was better. — RICEPILAF: My mom got rice pilaf with her Surf & Turf and I had a bite. The rice pilaf was way too mushy. Not a good consistency. — CUPCAKE: The waitress overheard that it was my sister’s birthday and she gave a free cupcake! That was really nice and my sister said the cupcake tasted good.

Came here for dinner at the end of our Yosemite trip and was really happy we decided on this place. It’s the best place we ate at during our trip. I couldn’t decide on an entrée, so I made my own meal out of two appetizers: lobster mac n cheese and 2 crab cakes. It was delicious and just enough. My friends ordered the Pacific Cobb Salad, the Mussels and Clams and everyone enjoyed their food. If you’re in the area, do yourself the favor and come here. Our server was friendly and attentive refilled our waters without asking(very important point in my opinion) and this place will be on my shortlist of dining options next time I visit Yosemite.
