Absolutely love this place! Great food and amazing service. Awesome prices for both lunch and dinner. Very homey feeling and the owner is so sweet. We look forward to enjoying many meals here in the future.

We are here visiting Yosemite with our kids. My children are picky eaters but they love Asian food. We a little scared when we saw the dirty donkey next to this restaurant. Serve was little slow and old looking but to our surprise the food was good. The kids loved it.

Restaurant has a diner ambience. Food is above average in taste. Prices are reasonable, about about $ 8 – 10 for most menu items. Fish, etc is a few bucks more. Service was excellent and ‘mama’ is very charming. Family owned.

I give this place 1 star for being conveniently located on the 41. This place said the wait was 30 minutes to pick up food. At 8:00 pm, that means we wouldn’t get our food til 8:30. Okay, not like there was many places in Oakhurst. Plus it’s across from Best Western where we stayed, so we said okay. My boyfriend went across the street to get the food. The place was empty, with an exception for a party dining in. There were tables with dirty dishes, and no one waiting on anyone. Our food still took over an hour to make. This was on a Monday night. There was no excuse. The place is a mess. Service was poor. We can never recommend this place.

Very friendly family staff! The food was awesome and they gave us huge portions! Also they accommodated me and made me vegaterian dishes that would usually come with meat. Delish and a bargain!

We came for a late lunch, and were quite impressed. We had the lunch special which was just perfect. The soup was wonderful, the Egg rolls were good, and the main dish was excellent with generous portions. We had our one year old with us, and the lady who served us went the extra mile with entertaining her, and brining out special food for her without us even having to request it(or get charged for it). My only regret is that not living close enough to come here often!

Pretty good Chinese food Been here a few times mainly for birthdays and what not. The pros are the owners are great folks and care about this place, and the food is delicious. Hot and sour soup was amazing The cons being the prices and portions. Either too small or too big. For example, you can’t get a side of soup, you would have to order a gigantic one at $~6 I mean, it’s just me and grandma. I’m not taking Cheech and Chong to lunch! Too big of portions make a big pricetag. If smaller portions were offered, these folks would earn 5 stars If I was stoned out of my skull, I’d be happy here

Mediocre at best. Fried rice was old with some rock hard grains. Steamed rice was OK. Sauces on Brocolli Chicken and Green Bean Chicken were tasty but lacking in quality.

This place was awesome! We were cold and tired after a good hike in Yosemite and the chefs special hit the spot. The hot & sour soup was delicious, my 4 year old gobbled up the lemon chicken & the fried rice. We will definitely be back next time we are coming thru the south entrance of Yosemite. If I find myself here without kids, I’ll certainly go next door for a drink. How could you not to check out a place called The Dirty Donkey Tavern!

We decided to get Chinese food for dinner when staying overnight at Oakhurst. A quick Unilocal search threw up Jade Gazebo that seemed to have reasonable ratings so we decided to give it a try. When we entered at around 8 pm. the restaurant was completely empty. In fact most of the lights were also off so we were not sure if it was open but the sole person behind the counter told us they were open and gave us a menu that we could use to order. We asked for a couple of standard Chinese dishes like Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Beef and Broccoli, Chicken Fried Rice etc. to go. Price wise all dishes were under the $ 10 mark so it was pretty reasonable. We had to pay cash as their credit card machine was not working at that time. Food was ready pretty fast in about 10 to 12 minutes so no issues there. Taste-wise the food was just terrible. As soon as we opened the containers our entire hotel room was filled with the smell of raw chicken and beef and we knew that this was going to be bad even before we took the first bite. The beef was chewy and the chicken was almost raw. Even the fried rice seemed to be hard and undercooked. We literally had to throw away $ 80 worth of food and go to a fast food restaurant for dinner. All the signs to turn around and go were there starting with a completely empty restaurant, lights that were off, a card reader that did not work but we decided to overlook all those and paid the price. Needless to say a return visit is completely ruled out.

Had the dinner special … The food was brought out like separate dishes… Sweet and sour pork was OK but just placed on top of the sauce on a small plate. Weird. The vegetable egg roll was next… Someone had mentioned it a previous review… It tasted like grease… Not just greasy but like grease. I don’t know how you can screw this up but they did. The rest of the meal… Meh If your hungry for Chinese food … Wait till you get home

I’ll just go down the list quickly. Cold room, dirty floors, sloppy service, long wait for food, cold food, bland food, overpriced food, and won’t be going back again for the food.

Took over a half hour to get our waters. Had to ask for a fork for our third person. Didn’t come with a napkin. Finally got the egg rolls for an appetizer, no flavor just tasted like oil. It’s been an hour and we are still waiting on our entrée. Go to Denny’s instead.

We stopped in during our stay in Yosemite and were not disappointed. Lots of vegetarian options. The sweet and sour fish was great. The rest of our party loved the egg rolls. We also enjoyed the broccoli snow peas and mushroom dish. The prices were very fair and we felt like it was a great meal for the price. The hot and spur soup was spicy, just how I like it. Highly recommended.

A-OK is right… Not the best, but definitely not bad. Really decent Chinese food for the area! Came here after a day of hiking in Yosemite and built up a good appetite for non-bar food. They have authentic Chinese dishes on the menu but also have Americanized options(egg drop soup, fried wontons, etc). We ordered the house special chow mein, mapo tofu, & sautéed string beans. Nothing particularly special about the noodles(pretty basic) but everything else was cooked and flavored great. It’s located next to the Dirty Donkey bar(haha) directly across from China Delight. It isn’t fancy by any means but reminds me of the super old school Chinese family-owned places back on the east coast. The owner(?)/server was friendly enough and they accept card. If we stay in Oakhurst again we will come back… GOODPRICESTOO.

Food was really delicious. I wasn’t expecting much from a Chinese restaurant near Yosemite and I was surprised by the quality of the food. Being Chinese, the food tasted authentic and my parents enjoyed it so much that we went back two nights in a row. The fried beef noodles were fantastic!

The Jade Gazebo is AWESOME! I went there with my parents last week. We live in Mariposa and hadn’t been there in about a year. We’d always loved the food. We met the new owner, Peter, he is funny, personable and gave great service. We had a great time chatting with him. The food? Even better than before! Tall order! It was so good my Dad and I went back two days later. Again, we had a great time talking and joking with Peter along with a couple from Australia. Great place!

We came into Oakhurst for a break from camping and decided Chinese sounded good. This place had the most reviews on Unilocal so we have it a try. Short and sweet: the service was fast, the food hot and fresh, and it tasted great. Is it the best Chinese you’ll ever have? No. Is it the best in Oakhurst? Probably. It’s good Chinese food for a very good price. Try it out! We walked away satisfied.
