My husband and I had the great pleasure of experiencing South Gate thanks to our fellow Unilocal!ers The food and beer selections are amazing, but the Staff is unparalleled! I’m not a huge beer drinker, but the selection of dark brews had me ordering more than just one pint! Laura started me us off with a customized tasting based on our preferences – darks for me, lights for hubby :). After trying the Porter and Stout, I happily settled on the Stout combined with Laura’s recommendation for potato chips. While we were enjoying our pints and perusing the menu, Michelle entered behind the bar. After assessing our half-empty glasses, she brought me over a taste of their award-winning Oatmel Honey Wheat blended with my now, beloved, Stout… ummm, WOW!!! It was a perfect blend of dark rich flavors with a little sweetness. I was all in for the«Blendie»!!! We ordered the pulled pork tacos and pulled pork mac-n-cheese! I inhaled my tacos and my husband left very little of his dish. We also enjoyed an unforgettable Root Beer float and Brownie with homemade Vanilla ice cream. After dinner, Michelle provided us with a tour of the brewery. Our experience was so memorable, we returned today(Sunday) for our final meal and drink before heading back to the Bay Area. If you find yourself headed to Yosemite, do yourself a favor — Stop in at South Gate for great food, amazing beer, and good old-fashioned hospitality!!!

One of the best dining experiences, ever! And I have had a lot of them. After a long, cold day in Yosemite, the only thing that we were looking for was good grub and a good beer. I walked away questioning what I enjoyed more on this trip: the iconic scenes of the national park or this little joint. The staff was nothing but helpful and personable– I am so glad that we sat at the bar and were able to have a full conversation of the origins and values this place strives to uphold. Farm to table, yes. Beer from the source, yes. The small town vibe with a warm welcome, yes. Food that was impeccable, yes. The only«no» on that list is that it is not close enough for me to attend regularly. But make no doubt– I will be up here every time I pass through on the 49⁄140. A gem and for good reason. Southgate, you did good.

We absolutely love this place! Inviting atmosphere with attentive staff, excellent beer selection(Sawtooth IPA A++), and great food! It’s also the only place I know of that offers a signature veganaise(jalapeño). Our only disappointment is that they only have one official vegan option(veggie tacos). That said, there are many modifications for our fellow vegans. Check out the menu and get creative, as I’m sure you are a pro at if you’ve been a vegan for more than a few months! And if anyone from Southgate is reading this, allow us to make some suggestions: Portobello mushroom option for burgers, vegan bun option(currently only sourdough bread to choose, which is good btw), Daiya cheese(making your pizza selection open for vegans). You do this and you will be a legend in the vegan community. There’s not many of us, so it may not put much more $ in your pockets, but think of how great you’ll feel ethically as an environmentally conscious establishment! We love this place and eat here twice a month and will continue to for the foreseeable future.

Richtig gute Burger. Richtig gute Pizza(nicht der amerikanische Standard) schön dünner Boden guter Belag. Ging super schnell und nette Bedienungen. Das Bier kann man vorher probieren was auch von Vorteil ist wenn man mit den amerikanischen Bieren nicht so vertraut ist. Auf jedenfall Empfehlenswert.

As we were going up to the yosemite national park, we wanted to find a good spot to get dinner near the park. On Unilocal we found this business. We really liked the atmosphere as it is very wooden and cool. They have a great variety of beers and snacks. I recommend the garlic fries! The only minus is that you have to wait for a seating and look out for yourselfe. Theres no waiting list or anything like that.

Oakhurst ist eines der Tore in den Yosemite Nationalpark. Bei der Suche nach einem Lokal für das Abendessen sind wir schnell auf die Brewing Company gestoßen. Allerdings war das Lokal nicht so leicht zu finden. Also bei der Fahrt zu angegebene Adresse die Augen offen halten, da das Gebäude recht unscheinbar ist. Das Restaurant war auch mitten in der Woche sehr gut besucht und wir waren froh noch einen Tisch für 2 Personen zu bekommen. Bestellt wird an der Bar, wo man auch die angebotenen Biersorten testen kann bevor man sich für ein großes Glas entscheidet. Ich habe mich auf einen Softdrink beschränkt, der in einem Schraubglas serviert wurde. Der Burger, den ich dazu hatte war sehr gut. Allerdings ist für mich das Experiment der Garlic Fries schief gegangen. Aber man sollte sie mal probiert haben. Es gibt bestimmt viele Leute welche sie lieben.
