Not good Chinese food. Greasy, thick, sloppy… dirty restaurant. Baskin Robbins, please come back! It’s sad that Oakhurst has a 5 * restaurant, it’s French and yet we can’t have a decent family restaurant that serves Chinese food. You would think with all the tourists we get here, that our restaurant choices would be better. People travel From all over the world to visit Oakhurst/Yosemite. The best Chinese restaurant gets 1*

The food is terrible, greasy & inedible. Spoke to a couple people who live in Oakhurst & they said the same. It’s not fresh … others said everthing tastes the same … they always forget items … etc.

We were visiting Oakhurst from the Bay Area. We wanted to get some Chinese food. We ordered vegetable chow fun with extra vegetables and vegetable deluxe with Mongolian sauce. We got our chow fun with four 3 pieces of broccoli and few pieces of carrots and bunch of cabbage. We figured oh well at least we have the other vegetable dish coming. When that came we both looked at each other and I said that is not the sauce I ordered and most of the vegies were cabbage with 3 pieces of broccoli and couple of carrots. Finally we got our waiters attention and we told him we don’t want the dish. He said ok but we charge you. We said we didn’t touch it. He said yes you did. This is what you ordered. We said there are no vegetables except for cabbage. We said we will pay for what we ate. But they told us no you have to pay for everything we can’t leave without paying. We had to call the police! If you know good food and service. Do not go here!!!

Just ordered take out for delivery. Although the price was standard for Chinese food, it was near flavorless. I expect peppers in my spicy beef. One small package of soy sauce, one napkin. Come on and NO chop sticks? Anyway, won’t be darkening their doorway anytime soon.

Too bad you have to give at least one star. It’s hard to find time to write my review inbetween the explosive diahria, but let’s see how far I get. First off, it’s cash only, which would have been fine had they the courtesy to post this, or at the least inform us prior to ordering. We had to run to the ATM(again, in between bouts of explosive diahria– seriously, for eating vegan, it’s rare that food makes us this sick). The tofu Kung Pao was bland with few peanuts and under cooked veggies. The sauce was over salted, basically soy sauce and cornstarch. That said, we split the dish and left the other untouched, save for our first taste. The other dish was hot and spicy tofu. Essentially the exact same sauce, only the tofu was uncooked, basically cut in cubes and thrown together with peas and carrots resembling grade school quality. We left this dish untouched and expressed our dissatisfaction when our bill came. They still charged us full price and cleared the plates. Oh yeah, the tea was untouched as well, due to the filthy pot it came in. After returning from the ATM, we paid full price with no tip. If it wasn’t Christmas, we may not have returned at all. Merry f**king Christmas, am I right? Now I have to run to the toilet for the 3rd time in 20min, excuse me.

This is one of the best restaurants in Oakhurst. The food is absolutely fresh and delicious, and the service is first-class. Whenever my folks are visiting form out town and want to go for a drive to the mountains, we always pop in here for a bite to eat.

I had not been here in years. We were not that impressed with it several years ago. On Friday I was craving Chinese food so I thought I would give it a try. Ordered off of the Lunch menu and had a diet coke. I selected the Kung pao chicken. It came with fries rice, and egg roll and soup. I had the hot and sour soup. Not bad, it was full of tofu and what ever else normally comes in it. It wasn’t too spicy, but tasted fine. The Kung Pao Chicken came and was plentiful as was a generous order of the fried rice. It had no red peppers in it, but was plenty spicy. The egg roll was freshly cooked, but it would have been nice to have a plumb sauce. Otherwise it was tasty. The food was good, fresh and plentiful. I was really impressed with the service. Seated right away, took my order, brought my drink very quickly. The waitress kept my glass full without my asking. She was pleasant, had a smile on at all times. I gave it three stars only because it was good, not great. Really no complaints, and will back soon.

Orange chicken is not so good. But chow mien, chow fun, Singapore mie fun, spinach garlic are excellent ! If you like spicy, they will make it just perfect…

If you’re looking for a good Chinese meal that’s cheap and quick, this is the place to go. It is not a fancy Chinese restaurant, so please don’t have ultra high expectations. We ordered their House special fried rice and orange chicken and we were satisfied. For the price, quickness and taste, it’s just right. If ever I get to be around Yosemite and craves for Chinese food, I won’t think twice going back to this place at all.

Was here on family vacation to Yosemite. Mom wanted Asian food so upon reading the Unilocal reviews, we drive down from Tenaya Lodge. We didn’t have much expectations for anything Asian in a remote tourist place. The ambiance. We saw it from outside and was tempted to find another place but one Unilocaler said they rate this one better than the other so we went in. We thought the soup prices were high but in the back of the menu there were dinner set menus for 2 or more people for either 11.98 or 13.98/person. Pros: We ordered the higher priced option so they were very accommodating when we wanted to sub a beef chow fun instead of the house noodle dish. Huge portions that we could no way finish. Friendly family owned staff who say thank you when even getting you extra napkins. Be sure to check it out if you are craving Chinese in the Yosemite area!

Dirty, dirty! Tablecloths disgustingly dirty, tables filthy, soy sauce and other condiment bottles grimy… gross. One can only imagine what the back rooms, refrigerators and other back areas are like, if the dining area is this dirty. The food is not much better and the employees barely speak English. I would suspect they only stay in business because of the tourists that are not aware. See pictures

Our family came here looking for a good place to eat other than hotel food. When we brought it back we were surprised at how much great food came with us for such a reasonable price. I was really impressed with the food and how good it was!

Had dinner here on Saturday night. Food was very good. Had the Mongolian Beef and Sweet and Sour Chicken, both«dinners for one». We enjoyed the meal, service was good and they have a side that faces the mountains, so there is a partial view. Easy access right off of Rt 49 and 41 and near a Von’s supermarket and a CVS drug store if you need to stock up on anything. A good value…

Visited Yosemite and we were craving for some Chinese fare. I know we ordered salt and pepper pork, but talk about SALTY. I think they’d dumped a pound of salt on our dish! Yeach! I told our waiter about this, she looked at our food for a second then dug her fingers in to taste haha!!! Trust me, hold your appetite and head for the next major town Fresno 45 minutes away. You’d have more choices there.

Craving asian food in this small town. Found this place… ordered a simple dish… chicken with veggies. Portion are great, lots fresh veggie, and they use real garlic sauce. They also give generously of chicken slices. Rice is perfectly steamed… i didn’t expect such a great tasting chinese food in this place.

I’m sorry, but try as I might, the best things I can say about this restaurant is that none of us got sick afterwards and the waiters are friendly. Of course, living in the San Francisco area, I may be spoiled. The hot and sour soup was not the least bit sour, the sauce for the tough and hard ribs seemed to be nothing more then ketchup and sugar and the 3 spicy dishes we ordered were not spicy at all. The other dishes were … filling. Why did it take almost 15 minutes to even get tea? We were a party of 5 and we ordered a fair amount of food. I know these guys are strangers in a strange land and I do wish them well, but as it stands now, they rank as the worse Chinese food I’ve ever had. I may give them another shot next time i’m in Oakhurst — maybe.

After spending the night in Yosemite, our group decided to stop by Taste of China for something to eat before the long drive home. We came in an expected it to be just a fast food joint but that was not the case. Atmosphere: very casual, you can be as loud as you want. Service: AMAZING! We were a party of 11 but the guy there about mid twenties was so accommodating. He even joked around with us. Seriously, he made sure the food was good, and whenever we needed something he would be quick to help us. Food: really delicious and you really can’t beat the price. Most Chinese places lack flavor and are very stingy with their portions but not here. Every dish had flavor and was well seasoned. However, I must say one thing. I ordered the honey walnut shrimp and it was a little soggy. But honestly, I don’t mind because everything else was awesome! Overall: If I ever find myself in Oakhurst again, I’m definitely coming back. The food is great, the employees are genuine, and its just a great place to make good memories :)

We were away from home visiting Yosemite, Fish Camp, Wawona, and Bass Lake. Hubby wanted to fill out gas in Oakhurst. We were also hungry for lunch and it was blazing hot outside in 100s. I found this place from Unilocal. We asked first if they can make a strict vegetarian dishes meaning no fish sauce, no oyster sauce, and no meat broth. The owner said yes. So we ordered Dry Sauteed Stringbeans and Tofu in Hot Spicy Sauce. The portions were large and the dishes were very tasty. We could not stop eating them. We were very surprised finding such a family restaurant with good dishes. The service was fine. The gentleman whom was helping us said that he is actually based in NY and was just there to help his family restaurant. He was very polite and nice. The prices were also reasonable. We both could not finish 2 dishes and brought them to-go. All in all, this was a good find and we’ll remember about this place when we go to Yosemite again. I highly recommend it. It’s better than the food in the park.
