Worst company ever they completely have no regard for doing business they ruined my furniture they delivered it 3 days after the date they were supposed to absolutely the worst company ever and they are not supported by the Better Business Bureau they have been revoked by them

Do not use Fort Lauderdale Moving & Storage or the other name they go by, Authority Van Lines!
They (Gary Sr. and Gary Jr.) charged us twice the amount for the delivery, the day of the delivery and told us that the weight was more than twice the one quoted. They could’ve told us a different amount when we paid the deposit or when they picked up our move.
They said if we didn’t pay the new amount that our things would go to storage. They did offer a small discount for what they called miscommunication on the part of their new sales rep Todd.
At no point before or after where we told of another weight or price till the day of. When we told them we would let others know they said they would not offer us the discount if we didn’t sign off on keeping the matter private and off of social media.
This act is coercion and we have discussed bringing a lawsuit as that is an illegal activity. We are on here just to warn others and so that others can be careful when dealing with this company.
We tried to reason with Todd the salesperson, and Gary Sr and Gary Jr but they yelled and told us that warning others was blackmail. They also said that since the amount weighed was more than quoted that they where in the right. But no one told us, or showed us paperwork to prove that. No one told us of a different pricing before, during, just on the day of delivery.
I hope that our warning is taken into consideration and that others don’t go through our experience.

It is unfortunate that i have to write this review as I was a repeat customer for Fort Lauderdale Moving and Storage. In fact our first move with them was on point, pricing was fair, and nothing was damaged, based on this experience we used them again and sad to say the experience was so terrible that I would highly urge you NOT to use this company.
1) The team literally hated each other. We hired two men. One stated he encouraged a third mover, the other said we did not need a third and two was plenty based on the limited items we were requesting to move. In fact he said «You only need two, but you know how that goes, lazy F***ing N****s»
2) We were charged for 7 hours. The movers arrived at 10:40 am and left at 4PM (that is 5.5 hours). They told us that they charge time the moment they leave, claiming they left at 10AM, they also said they charge an hour for travel… So wait. you charge from the moment you leave for travel and an additional hour for travel just because? They claim to have taken no breaks despite disappearing for upwards of 20 minutes at a time and having numerous phones conversation and smoke breaks. This resulted in a vast overcharge.
3) We tipped! Despite having an awful experience we still tipped. Our total cost was $ 630 + an additional $ 80 tip of which they made us feel guilty about. After giving the $ 80 tip they stated «wow… just 80 bucks. didn’t you waive the fuel charge man? I know you waived the fuel charge, that could come out of our pocket… 80 bucks. damn… Didn’t you waive the fuel charge? I thought we did a great job, we worked out ass off»
4) They literally complained non stop. We had large potted plants and apparently they were upset they had to move items such as plants and chairs. The one man said at least a dozen times «we should have had three men, we needed three men». They also were extremely rude to the onsite staff at our new apartment building so much to the point we had to apologize on their behalf.
5) What makes it even worse is that the manager/​owner/​company ignored us. We called and left three voicemails to share our concerns and gain clarity on why we were charged so much. We did not receive a call back, or hear from the company. The check was swiftly cashed and we have not heard from them since.
It is a shame that a company could take such a terrible path. The movers, experience, the overcharge, and pure lack of concern for customer experience is inexcusable.

The drivers showed up 5 hours late and with three men, not two. I was okay with this because I wanted it to move quickly until they told us there was a three hour minimum and the hidden gas fee. They told us this after the move was complete and on top of it, could not figure out how to put in our CC info correctly so we were constantly checking our statements the next week or so to see if they had charged us multiple times. They were very rough with a lot of my things.
Instead of asking me or letting me know, they took apart one of my desks and it was not fixable. It was an ikea desk so 1. they don’t really come apart and go back together and 2. it was cheap so I didn’t really care. BUT, what if they tried to do that with a nice piece of furniture… I mean, you would think they would at least let you know.

I was told it would be $ 90/​hour for two guys. No extra costs. Well, three guys showed up five hours late. It took about two hours and upon completion was told there was a three hour minimum and an $ 80 gas charge. The total was double what was quoted. I argued with the owner for a bit and he blamed his father for the whole thing. The price was reduced to $ 300, which I begrudgingly paid. I would not use or recommend this company. I feel bad for the movers for having to endure this kind of stuff from their employers, as they informed me this is how they do business. But then again they broke a bunch of our stuff, so maybe it’s fitting.

First of all, they sought me out when I was in search of a moving company. A friendly man called me up and explained about a discount and how they are on the B.B.B. I couldn’t find anything on Better Business Bureau that they had posted so my story begins.
Not only did they break an expensive statue etc! Idc. It was able to be repaired. I’m not fussy. Stuff gets broken during a move. BUT WHILE SIGNING PAPERS and writing check for a tip, they robbed me blind. I had opened boxes and items I had lying out vanished into thin air. Pocket items. Expensive items. Couldn’t be more irate when I contacted company and they ignored me and my emails.

I was quoted a flat rate and a time frame of 4 hours by Gordon, it was a simple move from East to West Boca. Gordon arrived with Jared in tow and quickly began to wrap my furniture with care and load. Then off to the fanal destination. We arrived and again they quickly unloaded the truck with care, manuvering each piece with efficiency. Exactly 4 hours later the job was completed. I HIGHLY recommend this company and these 2 very hard movers. It’s my understanding Gary the owner expects a lot from his team and I can say they exemplify the way a mover should conduct themself. They are polite, honest, professional and very good at what they do. USE THEM!!!
