The staff is wonderful, thorough, and FAST. The price is quite affordable for my enormous beast of a dog. I’ve taken my dog twice since I’ve moved into the area and both times, they’ve exceeded my expectations. The majority of the other options I saw were preposterous… blueberry facial for my dog? Cage free for $ 100 an hour?! What is this? the land of gold and diamonds?
Look no further if you are looking for a REAL dog groomer, that knows breeds, treats dogs well, and has them come out smelling literally like roses!

Really nice genuine people! They are wonderful and quick to get you in! My corgi was a happy camper for sure! They where quick too and my Bert was clean clipped and trim! I even asked them a funny question if they could trim his butt fluff because his butt gets gross with all that ass whiskers he has! They did wonders with ass fluff! He struts his ass with confidence! Thank you so much! Just to tell all you Unilocalers it looks like a bit shady area but it’s definitely a hidden gem! A+ great prices too

I have two dogs, a Yorkie and Yorkie/​Pom I took them to several groomers in the past, after a referral from a friend I finally found a groomer whom is reasonably priced, local in Oakland, knowledgeable about what cut will look great on my habies. I refer people to Lisa and they are TOTALLY satisfied! !

Love love love bringing our dog here! We have a 6 year old dandiepoo rescue, who we have been taking to After Hours for 2 years now. The prices are legit and they always do a really good job and listen to our needs for grooming (hair length, round face, ect.)
Plus, our dog doesn’t hate going there so that speaks volumes in itself. ‘
I would totally recommend going to After Hours! They’re offer friendly and fast service! I would say the only downfall would be that it’s kinda hard to make appointments some time as they are always booked, but I guess that’s not a bad thing!

I’ve always drove past this shop… finally brought in my dog. They were soooo nice and friendly!!! Did excellent job washing and cutting my Yorkie’s hair. Also trimmed the nails. He looked like a brand new dog and was happily wagging his tail when I picked him up.

I bring my Great Dane puppy «Mona» to Lisa a couple of times a month for grooming and nail care. She is the best in the business. If you are looking for a gentle, kind and humble groomer this is the place to go. She treats each dog as if they were her own. You can expect professional care and very affordable prices from this business.
The location is conveniently located right off 580 and there’s plenty of parking. Mona always leaves happy and clean!

After hours always grooms my beagle and do an amazing job. It’s thorough, and my dog smells good for a long time.

I’ve been taking my greyhound, Dominic, here for close to a year now. Dom HATES getting a bath, but the ladies at After Hours Grooming somehow manage to make Dom’s bath experience not too traumatic. They genuinely seem to love dogs, and Mr. Dom is always sparkling clean when I get him back.

Great groomer, great hours! Reasonably price, nothing to complain about. She’s made my schnoodle look like a schnauzer or just like a little poodle mix and either way, he looks great.

Staff were okay I guess, didn’t really feel a positive vibe? First time taking my dog here, the price over the phone was not what appeared to be when we got there, they added a little more. Also really bad nail clipping even had a bloody paw.
Won’t be coming back here for sure.

I’ve never been so happy about a grooming session for my dog till now. I was worried that the groomer wasn’t going to take my German Shepherd/​Chow mix because she was timid of strangers and a fairly large dog but the owner assured me that everything would be fine once I was out of sight (out of sight, out of mind) I left worried, an hour and a half later I get a call back and walk into the facility to see a smiling dog on a table getting some finishing touches to her coat. (She has a very long and thick coat which is really hard deal with at times) She looked amazing and not only that she was so happy and calm with with the groomer and her helpers. I was beyond shocked. Not only are the prices amazing, the grooming was wonderful. Thank you! You now have a new loyal customer. :) I’ll be back in 6 weeks.

My cocker spaniel got a wonderful grooming here! We only did a puppy cut, but he smelled so good and felt so soft afterwards. The owners were also very kind to me and my pup. So glad to have this service so close to home.

AMAZING! My dog’s fur was out of control and I had put off getting her a groom for WAY too long. I don’t cut her hair, but she has a rough, fluffy coat and it was looking pretty bad. I got fed up with it this morning and called After Hours when they opened today (all other groomers were closed on Sundays). The owner said to bring her by right then!
I picked her up an hour and 45 minutes later and she looked like a different dog. The owner was finishing up as I came in, and hair was flying EVERYWHERE. I swear she must have blown out a whole new dog’s worth of fur out of Ellie. She looks and feels absolutely INCREDIBLE. I can’t get over how good she looks. The groom was less than I expected, the hours are amazing, and she did an incredible job with my dog. I will definitely not wait as long before returning to After Hours!

Small and upcoming business!
The staff at After Hours were superb with my dog Dori. I was nervous that she would bite or be a difficult client but they had her purring like a cat (seriously)
I called for a quote and was able to drop my dog (small terrier) off and pick up within a few hours.
Because I am new to the area, I feel like finding a responsible safe place for my dog to visit is one less thing i have to do.

For those that are trying to Google directions just take the park blvd exit in Oakland and it’s right next to jiffy Lube across the street from the high school.
Parking was easy enough as well.

I have been to this groomer twice now. I can honestly say I am now a loyal customer! Whenever we go to pick up our dog, he is always happy and smiling. He smells divine– which actually lasts a couple of weeks!
He really seems to love the ladies there, too. There prices are totally fair, which is a big plus. Thank you, After Hours. You make getting my little guy groomed more of a pleasure than a chore. Cheers!

The most expensive mediocre grooming I’ve ever paid for in the last 9 years.
They were friendly and it was easy to schedule but that’s about it. None of the things I asked for specifically appears to have been done. Even stuff I thought were «basic» in a full grooming, like nails, did not appear to have been touched. Portions of his head was uneven at closer observation. End price was $ 15 higher than what was quoted over the phone which I would have gladly paid if the specific details I asked for were completed, except they weren’t. This is even higher than my former groomer located in SF. The icing on the cake was to get my dog back with the harness on completely wrong, as if the person putting the harness on had no idea how dog harnesses are to be put on a dog.

Howard was covered in «thick mats» and was rejected by Petco, then referred to a «Vet» because apparently Petco didn’t want me to give my business to anyone else. My intuition told me to the drawing board and found After Hours Dog Grooming.
Lisa was pleasant on the phone and was casually confident that she could handle Howard, even before laying eyes on him.
The next day I took Howie in and met Lisa, at her cute little salon. Howard is particular about strangers but immediately took a likely to Lisa. He strolled right in and Lisa did her examination on him and said she could take care of him «no problem» She then offered me various options to make him look stylish. I opted for a Bichon head with Poodle Paws. She told me to come back in about an hour.
I felt very comfortable leaving him with her because she has such a warm, welcoming vibe. My concern was that Howie wouldn’t be has cute as his full blown existing rastafarian dred’s were.
I arrived back to pick up my sweetie, anxious and excited, and what I saw was the most beautiful handsome dog in the whole world!
He looked so cute and smelled so fresh. She did an AMAZING job. She charged me 60 $ total and he was so fresh clean, and super stylish.
My guy gets all the looks in town and is walking with more confidence and pep in his step. I am definitely taking him back here when he’s ready for his next fluff.
