I joined about six months ago and it’s a great club for just tennis. The staff and pros are so friendly and make you feel welcome no matter what your level of play. They host frequent events and have an active league (s) and ladders. Courts have just been redone and are in beautiful shape!

Chabot Canyon Racquet Club is a sweet place to join and play tennis. I’ve been a member here for over 3 years and have played countless games and made nice friends.
Monday thru Thursday nights from 5 – 7 they have «Hot Courts» which is a drop-​in format for all levels of doubles tennis. Similar levels are paired together for the most even games and no reservations are needed since it’s on a drop-​in basis.
There are also a good number of USTA teams available to join especially at the 4.0, 3.5 level.
There are also several social events with tennis, great food and beverages.
The staff work hard and care about the members and the welcoming clubhouse just underwent an exterior paint job which looks sharp and fresh.
I recommend this tennis club any chance I get for a fun non-​pretentious place to just play tennis.

A hidden gem. There are many places to play tennis in Oakland but Chabot offers a very approachable community on top of a fantastic facility offering many different types of tennis play all at a very competitive rate. I highly recommend Chabot if you are looking for an unpretentious, friendly and competitive place to play tennis.
