Karaōke before 8pm! Def worth. If you go at that time it’s 50 percent off. I went on a Saturday afternoon at 4 with a group of 8 people and there was a room available. The room itself smelled like hella smoke so meh. But that’s something I assume most karaōke bars around here have. Their drinks are okay. I didn’t really like mine so meh I’ll leave it at that. Don’t get mango milk green tea? The food is kinda pricey so be careful with that. And they don’t have EVERY song available but they have a LOT of hits so could be easy to kill the time. Tip: you don’t need to follow the must order food rule for karaōke. They don’t enforce it anymore? I think.

My sister introduced me to this place. I was skeptic about how late it opened because it was very dark. I had one suggestion from my sister boyfriend where I was pleased with my drink. The place is quite large but a lot of stuff going on and is very hard to read the menu. Ill be sure to remember what I want everytime i come in because it can be very packed. Other than that i am a returning customer and i enjoy my cha-time drink!

Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The guys here were not only quick to help hide the cake, they even provided us with plates and utensils(even though they didn’t have to)! As we were coming into the room with the birthday cake, they even coordinated and played the happy birthday song from our room. Great service, they were very understanding and helpful with our experience. Try their rose milk tea if you get the chance to, I haven’t found a better place for that around this area! We had a small room(only four of us), the place was clean and the karaōke system was easy to use compared to some of the other places.

The caramel milk tea is delicious, fast service as well. Even though there is not much room to sit in the place is a must.

I come here every once in a while when I’m in the mood for boba and I know other locations, I’ll have a hard time finding parking. Chatime has a small parking lot. It’s can usually fill up pretty quickly at night because they do have a karaōke area inside where people love to come and hang out. The boba drinks here are still good! But they are a little over priced. Their drinks are over priced for the simplicity of some of the drinks. The service is pretty quick and easy. Everyone is nice and doesn’t give me any issues at all. The place was just remodeled with new seating a and tables. Looks really nice and purple. I would definitely try to check out the karaōke area one day

The boba is definitely a hit every time. I always get the large roasted milk tea with regular boba. Be prepared to wait on mornings when they first open at 11 am — it will take them 10 – 15 min to start up their first batch of boba. They only take cash, or with a minimum of $ 10 in card. If you can’t decide or are behind on the 10 dollar limit, their popcorn chicken is a good choice. I would not suggest picking their other snack choices such as the curry fish ball or the soy sauce chicken because of the lack of flavor and the small amount of food that is plated. The only reason why I’m giving ChaTime 4 stars rather than 5 is for their staff. They hardly speak any English, so it definitely helps if you speak Cantonese/Mandarin. Other than that food-wise is pretty good for a boba shop, and I can’t complain about their milk tea.

First time sitting down in this café. Ordered a regular size rose milk tea. Supposed to be their signature drink. Sadly, I only got to enjoy a few sips of the tea. The rest are this huge iceberg in the cup. Disappointed. please see the picture I am uploading in a minute.

Am i trippen or did they fix this place up!!! When i came in the other day it looked so nice! I ordered my favorite chocolate-hazelnut milk tea(which is what i order at all these types of tea places lol) with boba. This is by far the best tasting one i had. You have the option to order it in jumbo size, which is the cup thats a bit shorter but fatter. Total came out to a whopping $ 7 though!!! Which is lot for just milk tea!!! Have yet to try the food but will in the future. Enjoy this place overall but the prices are a bit high for just tea /:

I am writing a review for its KTV service Decent selection of songs although many of them are outdated or even out of sync(lyrics and the beats) Too expensive. I had 2 people sining for 2 hours in a small room and it costs us 80 dollars(from 8 to 10pm)? what the hell. Too many hidden fees and I don’t even want to hear explaining. Compared to the one in Ranch 99 plaza(in Richmond), which offers 10/person for up to 4 hours in the afternoon, chat time is just a rip off. You can also consider Ichibox in Fremont, to see what is a modern KTV.

Plenty of space and tables, karaōke, and a long menu of various teas and smoothies to choose from! They take card and my mango smoothie with boba came pretty quickly — I wish I asked if this café had wifi, this is a potentially great study spot.

This is one of my favorite Boba places in the Bay Area. I recommend getting the Brown Rice Green Milk Tea with Grass Jelly. It’s always a favorite. Or try their Roast Milk Tea, which is popular here, too. Lastly, if you like to sing/karaōke, definitely go to their Music Café area and sing your heart out in a karaōke lounge.

Newly renovated, it’s a nice place to hang out late evenings in Chinatown. There’s an area for stage performances now? Karaōke rooms are still intact(; I can hear parties going on as I sit here and sip my hot roasted milk tea with large pearl. It could’ve been sweeter. And was more«luke warm». But my sore throat welcomed it either way. They have free wifi here too. We’ve been here a couple times already so of course I’ll be back!

Tons of seating at this location and quick service too. I had the roasted milk tea with boba and it was gooood. Chatime is located a couple blocks away from the main area of Oakland Chinatown so parking isn’t so bad. However, the prices are a little steep in comparison to the other boba spots in Chinatown.

Their drinks are all made with fake processed syrup and powder. I ordered a strawberry yogurt smoothie for my niece and I watch them put red syrup and powder over ice and call that a smoothie. wtf the only good thing about this place is that there’s free parking.

Chatime provides a late night snack for your bubble tea cravings. I came here with my friend after a night at a Korean bar. Chatime is well-lit and quite a spacious area. We did not go do any karaōke, but they had songs in Mandarin Chinese playing on the wall with the karaōke lyrics. Aside from the karaōke, I got a strawberry slushie with grass jelly. Oddly, I am typically more comfortable ordering this in Mandarin, but I got a confused look, so I ordered in English. I found that a little odd, but I guess it happens periodically, even in Oakland Chinatown. I found the volume of the drink to not actually fill up the whole volume of the regular size cup, so that was a downer. The grass jelly was pretty fresh since it was warm, but I found the strawberry slushie to be mediocre. Maybe too much ice, but unfortunately, I did not get a milk tea as a baseline test to compare against my other favorite bubble tea places. I think this place is great for your light night escapades in Uptown Oakland, or you’ve ventured to Oakland Chinatown, but I have had better bubble tea in the Bay Area.

Review for drinks only! I came to ChaTime while waiting for Annabelle P. and her friend to arrive at the west oakland bart station for a late night treat. I immediately found parking right in front of the shop, even though they have a small parking lot. While the karaōke rooms were hella poppin, I went into the quiet shop to order a drink. There was 1 other person doing work in the corner and a couple waiting for their drinks. The employee was very kind and helpful, and even gave me suggestions since it was my first time at this shop. While I usually just get a black milk tea when I visit a new bubble tea shop, but I decided to get the Roasted Milk Tea with grass jelly and 50% sweetness. It was SO yummy! I also tried a Jasmine milk tea and passionfruit tea, but I prefer the milk teas from Chatime.

I’m a sucker for sakura(kind of a tongue twister). So obviously, when I saw that they had a japanese sakura sencha tea, I just had to get it. It tasted just like sakura, or at least like it’s smell – not too sweet, but not bitter either. Floral. The milk teas however, were a bit creamy and didn’t go well with my vast palette of milk tea taste buds originating from a very Asian-cultured childhood. They weren’t bad, but I definitely have had better. Still, the sakura tea was on point. Great for a peaceful meditation trip underneath a waterfall, or for the less creative, as a drink.

This is a review for just the boba, food, and service. I did not use the karaōke services. After realizing that all the nearby boba places were jammed packed with Warrior fans after the parade, we decided to walk a bit further and go to Chatime for boba and some food. Lucky us, there weren’t too many people. Because we got fried from the sun, I decided to get one of their smoothie green tea drinks to cool off. It sure hit the spot. It was really refreshing and tasted great. My other friends got roasted almond milk tea, mango smoothie, and lychee. Those were all delicious as well. Chatime has really good balls. They are really chewy and good. Its better than most boba places. As for the milk tea itself it’s on point as well. They use real tea for most of their drinks so thats great. The food wasn’t anything to brag about. It was pretty standard. We had ordered the black pepper beef noodles and also the popcorn chicken. The noodles were decent and the popcorn chicken wasn’t that great. There wasn’t much chicken in the popcorn chicken. They also forgot about our order and we had to go back to the waitress several times to make sure they get it out. My only complaint about this place is that it’s a little dirty. They don’t really wipe down the counters or sweep that often. My table was really sticky and had left over food. Overall, this is a good place for boba, not so much the food or sitting down and hanging out, unless you want to get the sleeves of your sweater sticky.

My favorites are their roasted milk tea, jasmine green tea mousse with lychee jelly and their popcorn chicken. Their popcorn chicken isn’t oily nor is it fatty! I’ve tried their mango qq drink and its pretty artificial tasting… not a fan! I love how they have their own private parking lot!
