Citibank

I have been with Citibank for banking and credit card for over 26 years now. I have never had a problem with them that they did not fix instantly. Mostly, any problem I bring to them of my own they fix rapidly. As an example, A business that will remain unnamed at this spot try to defraud me of $ 99. Despite my attempts to get my $ 99 back because no service was obtained I was refused. Citibank, when I called them, told me that they would immediately credit me-​permanently-​the $ 99 and initiate the dispute chargeback themselves. No trouble… no pain… no time. Perfect!
They even alerted me that I have a extended warranty on my refrigerator because I purchased it with my MasterCard. Excellent! This meant that the $ 60 that I had spent to fix it would now be refunded. They just keep getting more amazing.
My children bank at Citibank now as well. I would recommend them to anyone.

The bank itself gets like a 2 star because I really don’t like some of their rules, regulations, etc. but I’ll save that for a different review
This branch itself is very convenient and will get you in and out quickly… unless you’re a teenage looking girl, because in that case, you’ll be ignored by the ladies sitting at their desks. Sorry, I know it looks like I’m waiting for my «parents» at the table next to you talking about mortgages, but I actually have things I need help with… (–1 star)
Another –1 star is the amount of flies outside their doors (I promise you, it looks like a feeding frenzy on a dead animal) and the dirt on their windows. It just didn’t feel clean.

I have mixed feelings about what Citibank has to offer its customers, especially credit card customers. It’s a like/​dislike relationship I have with Citibank and this is not the first time.
I believe the rating of 2 stars is a fair, reasonable and an objective one. Their customer service at this branch warrants more than a 3 star rating (3.5 stars); however, the entity itself and the CEO’s who oversee this bank and all other branches I rank at a 1 star. If I could give the big mucky-​mucks a zero star, they would deserve nothing but a big, fat zero for their greedy a**es.
Earlier this month, I stopped at a branch of Citibank in Alameda and paid the bank a sum of $ 214.77 on December 1, 2014, believing that amount would leave me with a zero balance. Nope, it did not. Instead, on December 20, 2014, I received a bank statement from Citibank, indicating that I still owe another $ 1.44, which is due January 15, 2015.
I opened a Citibank Mastercard account back in February 2013. They had a balance transfer promotion, giving me a 0% interest for 18 months on purchases and/​or balance transfer. They also assured me that my APR would not be higher than the 13.99%. When the promotion ended at the end of August 2014, my APR was 21.99%. It was, and still is, an insult to have Citibank deemed me as a consumer unworthy of a lower APR.
To add insult to injury, Citibank wants me to pay $ 1.44. They are some heartless people who are not extending any holiday cheer to its customers. AAMOF, I don’t believe they even give a rat’s turd; they just want their money. I feel as though they are sweating me for $ 1.44 and here it is the holiday season. Bah, humbug, Citibank, for you have become nothing but Ebenezer Scrooges of modern times.
What went through my mind as to how I was going to pay Citibank was — do I hand them over 144 pennies to pay them off or what? (I would have been counting pennies one at a time just to give them some aggravation). Thus, on this date, I stopped in at this branch before they closed at 5:00 PM to pay the sum of $ 1.44 in cash. What I gave them was $ 100.44 to pay off the balance, so I could get $ 99.00 back. I also told the teller it was ridiculous to charge me this measly amount to line some CEO’s pocket… chump change for a chump CEO.
Customer service: 3.5 stars
CEO’s and the entity: 1* star (less than 1 star actually)
Overall rating averages out to 2 stars.

— I handle all the finances in my family. negative 5 stars for this banking branch~ went into the bank to cash out a check which is written to me by my mother for 30,000. The teller immediately said no since I am not a Citibank customer saying the amount is over the limit, but when I asked her what the «limit» is, she said she can’t tell me and that is their internal policy. I asked can I know if I were a customer of Citibank and again she said no… excuse me!!! great~ Citibank! I am taking my whole family out!. Worse customer service ever!

Citibank did an excellent job of bilking the American people out of millions of dollars, giving themselves big salaries (at least the management) and contributing to the global financial meltdown. Fantastic! Move your money from this bank before they take it for themselves.

this small branch is definitely a plus for the chinese speaking community, hence why it’s in chinatown. anyway, they do a good job on making their customers feel welcome and taking care of any questions and concerns.

Conveniently located in Downtown Oakland Chinatown, I come here to do quick ATM banking since most of Chinatown only accepts cash.
It’s located at the corner, so walking up a few steps and grabbing some cash takes all but a couple of minutes then off the Vien Huong for some yummy noodles!

I love this branch of Citibank.
David, Simon and Mae (sp?) have always been so friendly and accommodating and always greet me by name. … .very nice people.
Lovely Chinese music from the adjacent video store will greet you as you ascend the steps to the entryway.
It’s a special experience.
(I don’t recommend parking in the red zone as a previous review suggested. The apartment complex next door doesn’t welcome bank and dash parking either. Proceed to Franklin and 9^th for legal parking.)

i love this location since i can wait for the last minute to pay off my credit card. parking’s a bummer but there’s usually little or no waiting .
i can park in the red zone on the side, run in and out with no dire consequences.

I would give this Citibank all the stars in the sky if I could!
Yesterday started off like a nightmare. A check I had deposited for my firm, a rather large check that is, was sent back to our address due to the following error: the payee of the check does not correspond with depositing account. But our firm’s name is on the check — huh? Well, it was a double-​check — and the other company it was also made out to was written first — but that company had endorsed the check for us so we could deposit it to our account, and because the money was owed us!
I thought, this must have happened because I made the deposit at an ATM. The problem was, we had payroll AND consultants to pay — so much money was owed out and backed up, and of course it’s right before the end of the year bonuses and year-​end accounting and holiday pressures! I had written checks against that deposit already!
So, believing that talking to someone would resolve all issue, I went to the Citibank on the corner of Post and Kearny first thing in the morning. The kind teller was confused by the check. She brought over her manager. The manager explained what a huge liability it was to deposit a check that was made out to two corporations, even though it had already been endorsed on the back by both firms. We needed to have papers signed, connected accounts — huh? Wasn’t this normal? Didn’t businesses do this every day? BUT instead of getting amazingly frustrated, I calmly left the bank. When I got outside and breathed in the cold, crisp air, I felt like crying. I had already written payments against that check.
Well, needless to say, several calls were made. There were small, frustrated discussions. I cried. I took my morning dance class and never got warm. Damn Citibank. It got complicated, let’s just say, I don’t want to draw this whole story out. Basically because there were more than two parties involved with this money, politics got messy. All I needed to be able to do was deposit that check which was rightfully earned by our firm.
What to do? At 4:30 pm, my boss suggested trying our «home» bank, the Chinatown location where we opened our small business account in the first place. I immediately said, No way. They won’t do it. It’s the rules.
Then, I thought, wait a second, might as well give it a try, talking to the other parties about releasing a new check is not going anywhere, and we’re sitting in quicksand. It’s December 19^th, people! There are presents to buy! Bonuses to pass out! Vacations to take! I had a lightning-​quick change in heart.
We went to Chinatown. I immediately found a parking spot! Car-​ma was on our side! David, our main contact and manager, looked at the check and saw what had happened, and then with a pen in hand — he approved it! OH MY GOD! Yay! Relief! A bucket of cool water rained down the worry in my chest.
I love this bank. I love the people that work here. They are working for your best interest (pun intended), and especially for small businesses! Rawrrrr!
