I stopped by for the first time ever for a shattered glass manicure. My nails look amazing, Stephanie did an amazing job! Stephanie herself is amazing, she’s so sweet, I loved the conversation we had. The manicure itself I feel was overpriced. My usual price for this same nail just obviously different color done at a different shop would cost me no more than $ 30, this manicure cost me $ 65 which was indeed the most expensive manicure I’ve ever had. Bc of the price, not sure if I’ll be going back since I can get the same work for a better price but stephanie was so great that I may just stop by and see say wassup! 3 stars on the price 6 stars for Stephanie

I just went here for my first time. The service was the best I have ever had. It is cozy, warm, and the nails are awesome! This will be my new regular spot.

I hadn’t been to Cosmo spa in years. My nails were kept up, but started to gradually get busy with my daughters sickness, school and work. Up keep of nails, hair, skin and body was put at the very bottom of my list. The work outs, facials and massages were what I needed, but busy single mothers rarely get to pamper themselves. I pampered, Friday Oct 29th2015, but I wasn’t able to get Dao to do my nails. I was scheduled with Jamela and felt from the way she spoke, she was very professional. On the other hand I felt singled out for reason on a person level. When I first arrived, I came 30min early. Jamela, told me to look at all of the color choices and would be doing my pedicure first. As I started to look for the colors, I hear people in the kitchen and Jamela was speaking in a low tone with another nail technician. Jamela exits the kitchen and passes by and asked me, «Are you I doing ok?» I responded with, «yes and you?» She never responded back directly, I just heard a bunch of mumbling and she continued to the front of the spa area. I thought to myself, huh, odd way of interacting with a client of a business establishment. Plus, why didn’t she ask me how I was doing when I first came in? Moreover, what was with the lack of response and mumbling? I took it as another person trying to test my maturity. I don’t look as old as I am. I look like I’m in my early twenties, but I’m in my late thirties. I know that age doesn’t really justify a person’s level of maturity, but it seems I was totally wrong about Jamelas level of maturity. Jamela started my toes and I have to admit, I haven’t been to get my toes done in a long time. Due to me being busy. Jamela goes to the kitchen and I hear the low tone voice again. She comes back and asks if I had any plans for the rest of the day. I told her yes, I had two engagements to attend, my friend had a dance class at the Mission Culture Center and my other friend invited me to a dance class/performance show at the Mission Center Theater. Jamela, looked at me as if I was lying about the plans I had. Again, I took it as the look of my age and maybe she didn’t think I knew anyone in those establishment at that level. Maybe she thought I was covering up the fact my feet looked jacked up and a little stinky. I couldn’t possibly be a dancer/athlete or too tired looking? Jamela finally finishes my toes and we move to the nail stations at the front of the spa. Putting the Bio-Sculpture on my nails seemed a chore for her. I thought her way of looking at my nails from every which way under the light, was amateur. Curing my nails is needed for all four steps. When Jamela did my nails, I put my hand under the light I don’t know how many times. I said to myself, however she do it, as long as my nails are nice in the end. What also made me question Jamela’s professionalism, is when she asked me if I wanted a massage after my nails were completed. Jamela finally gets done. I noticed when she started to put everything back in order to clear for the next nail technician to freely do clients nails if needed, she pushed all of the bio-sculpted bottles next to me. Mind you, she turned her back, dumped stuff out and looked around again. This is when I saw that maybe she thought I was going to slide one of the bottle in my pocket. I looked behind me at the receptionist desk to see if they see her doing what she did. Turned back around and she put all the bottle in her pocket and walked away. All of the, whispering, assumptions and lack of considerations came in to full view, I finally knew why. She didn’t think I could afford getting my nails done and probably thought I looked wore out or smoked out. Definitely, thought I couldn’t afford getting my nails done there. I felt, just because I don’t get my nails done there regularly didn’t mean I can’t get my nails done regularly. I work at a job that pays well over the minimum wage and have the money to get my nails and more done. I decided to tip her $ 5 dollars. It looked like she at least did a decent job on my nails and the 5 $ was to give her some hush money. I gave her –Don’t think negative about people type hush money. I walk out of Cosmo Spa lounge feeling very tired, more tired than I walked in. I had a rough night and really dislike negativity. As I sat on Bart, I looked down at my nails and saw she didn’t reach very close to the cuticle with the Bio-Sculpture on some of my nails. She didn’t coat the nail fully with the Bio-Sculpture with clean lines at the edge of my nails too. There was gaps on the side which showed she really did have a hard time using the Bio-Sculpture. I will not be booking another appointment with Jamela. I don’t want to avoid Cosmo Spa because of the open and unapologetic judgment from Jamela. I will show my maturity and not let the small issue get to me. Although, I had to write a review regarding my experience.
