Caroline rocks. Real art, faux finish.

When we bought our new house we loved the faux painted dining room walls and living room fireplace. The previous owners had also commissioned a custom wall mural depicting an Italian countryside, and although we appreciated the mural, it didn’t really fit into our decorating style, so we decided to have it removed.
We contacted Caroline Stern of Deco Art in Oakland who had done the faux painting and created the mural and asked about the best way to remove it. Caroline explained that the mural was actually painted on canvas and glued to the wall and that she could come and take it down as well as repaint the wall in the color we wanted in faux style.
Caroline and James arrived right on time, removed the mural and prepped the wall for painting. After a couple of visits, we had a beautiful faux painted wall and a very positive experience with Deco Art.
Frankly, I’m surprised to be writing the first Unilocal Review of Deco Art, since they’ve been in business for almost twenty years, and if you’ll check their web site, you’ll see that they really do quality work.
