It was a review long overdue, as my wedding was on Feb 7 last year. I was referred by my friend who got their wedding cake here as well. I fell in love with her mocha cake served at her wedding — so moist and not too sweet. I called Sandy to make an appointment and worked with her on my wedding cake design. Sandy is very friendly and helpful. I already have a cake design in mind, and we talked enthusiastically about cake designs(because I am a home baker!). My 3-tiered wedding cake was delivered perfectly! It’s a beautiful cake with just fresh sweet cream and no fondant. And that is what I really like! I had fresh strawberries and mocha flavors. It is the wedding cake in my dreams!

Mixed fruit for my wedding cake. It had lychee in it! Owner is very nice. Saved a lot of money coming here for the cake. They do deliver and set up with a fee. Totally worth it!

We ordered our wedding cake(red velvet with buttercream frosting) from Delicieuse Princesse Bakery, and we could not have been happier. Our cake looked exactly like the picture we showed them, was moist and delicious, and literally less than ½ the price of other wedding cake quotes we received.

:) I am one happy camper. Me and my husband got my birthday cake here. We ordered the taro cream cake. It was very moist, fresh, and was not too sweet. Just how I like it. We also got the dried pork mini buns and mini coconut crime buns. They were very tasty. Customer service was very friendly and nice. We will be back!

This is my favorite Asian bakery in Oakland. My family has been ordering cakes from this bakery for over 20 years. I’ve been jonesing for a pandan cake and luckily my mom’s birthday was coming up and it gave me the incentive to order a pandan cake. This cake did not disappoint! We ordered the smallest round pandan cake with coconut filling. The cake was light, moist, and full of green pandan flavor. The filling and whipped cream was just the perfect amount of sweetness and pandan-ness, and the coconut and fruit filling provided crunchy and juicy contrast. Funny enough, my mom ended up telling us the story that while she was in beauty school 28 years ago, the bakery was right around the corner, so every time there was a celebration at the beauty school, they’d always order their cakes from this bakery.

The cake was D-E-Licious! We ordered a 3 tier round wedding cake. Half fruit and red velvet with cream cheese flavor creaming??? something like that. They delivered the cake to the restaurant for us before we even get there. One day before our wedding, the cake lady(sandy aka the boss) allowed us to bring in our own choice of flowers and color ribbon for her to put it on the cake without any extra charge. That was very nice of her. Some other bakery or cake places doesn’t allow that and there are charges. My wife and I compared a few wedding cake/bakery venues and we were looking at ~$ 1000. at Delicieuse princesse bakery, it was half that number. Overall, we are very happy with the taste, decoration, presentation, and price of the cake. On your wedding day, if you want to worry one less thing, I recommend Princesse bakery in Oakland Ca.

Beautiful cakes done with just cream and no fondant. Sandy was able to work with me and establish the look i want at an affordable price. My wedding cake was delivered on time with no flaws. Sandy had 10 other cakes to do on my wedding date but managed to still meet me for my last minute changes. But probably because she was busy it was hard to contact her at times.

We were visiting the Bay area and just happened to venture into this bakery randomly while walking around in downtown Oakland for the afternoon. To our surprise, the bread here is sooo good! We bought 2 loaves of raisin bread and 1 loaf of the garlic bread. If I lived in the Bay area I would totally ask them to do my wedding cake!

I knew I wanted a Chinese bakery to make our wedding cake, as I’ve found that most wedding cakes are super dry and super expensive. We ended up ordering our wedding cake from Delicieuse Princesse and were not disappointed. We did cake tasting at the shop and tasted red velvet, chocolate and strawberry shortcake. All the flavors were so tasty, we ended up doing a three tiered swirl cake with two tiers of red velvet and one tier of strawberry shortcake. We also ordered a side cake in chocolate with a complicated logo drawn on it. The cakes both looked fabulous and both were tasty(based on feedback from our 100+ guests). The delivery on the day of was on time and seamless. I would highly recommend this bakery!

Located on 13th Street which is the edge of Chinatown, which means plenty of parking and less crowds… I think this is one of the best chinese cakes in the area. Ordered a mango mousse cake from here before and it was moist, light, and good flavor of mango… recently ordered a mixed fruit cake which was filled with mandarin orange, lychee, fresh mango which was different but pleasant surprise. 10″ aake that serves about 12 pp = $ 28.

We ordered our wedding cake from Deliceuse Princesse in April of 2015. The cake itself was delicious and our guests enjoyed every last bite. We had the sponge cake with fresh strawberries and red velvet with cream cheese filling. The décor was also subtle but beautiful. Sandy, the owner was responsive and helpful throughout the process. Delivery and set up was also a breeze. Two small downsides to working with DP, which is the reason for 4 vs. 5 stars): 1) they charge a fee for paying with a credit or debit card when comparable establishments do not. Seems a bit inconvenient to ask patrons to come in with all that cash when they’re paying hundreds of dollars for a special occasion cake; 2) the rental fee for the cake stand seems a bit high as well($ 50 deposit, $ 30 fee, so you get $ 20 back upon return). Not sure if other bakeries charge the same amount, but it was a small inconvenience.

Birthday cakes are usually considered as a type of dessert, but I’ll make a special exception to consider the cake I recently ordered from here as a main course dish. No, seriously. It was THAT good. From year to year, my family and I stick to the same traditional type of cake, whether it may be an over sized fruit tart, or some sort of white cake with fruit/jam filling on the inside. I was put in charge this year for my mom’s 61st birthday cake, so I received a great recommendation from a friend to try out the coconut pandan cake. Apparently, it is a favorite throughout many Asian countries — so why not just give it a shot? To make it ‘sweeter,’ I decided to engrave the message of «Happy sweet 16» on the cake and just tell my mom I accidentally reversed the numbers. In short, the cake was a huge success! My family and relatives commented that it wasn’t too sweet, but packed a lot of flavor from the coconut and the cake texture was perfectly moist. A job well done to get just the right one for my mom’s birthday? Piece of cake.

I ordered a coconut cake last minute(literally) for a birthday and not only did I get it on time, it was amazing! Everyone enjoyed it. Way to go! Thanks Unilocal for the reviews that led me to this place

Absolutely wonderful!!! I can’t say enough good things about this place. I came in a few weeks ago to place an order for an event for mom that was supposed to have taken place on Feb. 22. However, a few days before the event, I received a call from my brother informing me that our pastor’s mother-in-law had passed away and he won’t be able to perform our mom’s ceremony so we had to postpone it for Mar. 1. I had called the bakery during the Chinese New Year week and they just so happened to be closed that day. The phone just rang and rang, but I continued to hold on in hopes that someone would answer so I can ask to change the date for our cake order. Finally, someone answered and told me that they were closed and I would need to speak to Victor personally. He was kind enough to give me Victor’s cellphone number, which I texted him right away to ask if changing the date would be possible. I explained the whole situation to Victor and he was so sweet and accommodating! When I went in to pick up the three heart shaped cakes on Mar. 1, I saw just how beautiful they were. I ordered 3 different sizes(8 inch, 9 inch, 10 inch) in 3 different flavors(red velvet, mixed fruit, and coconut) and they made them exactly as how I had envisioned it in my head. I am very hard to please so being that they were able to get everything done as I had asked for, was definitely a big deal to me because this is my mom’s big day! I had to have everything perfect! The cakes were beautiful and each flavor was very good! I actually bought a fourth cake that was pre-made in the durian flavor for my niece’s 6th birthday and that was delicious. This will definitely be my go-to spot for all my future cake needs. Thank you so much for being so accommodating and making this the happiest day of my mom’s life!

This place can not get any better than it is. I love their pandan cake(especially their pandan mix fruit cake) ! Their layers are so high and the the sponge cake is just the softest. Although dealing with asian bakery, it’s all about patience when it comes to asking a question and getting an answer lol

The cakes here are simply divine! They have ready-made beautifully decorated cakes on the shelf ready to pick up and take off to your happy family or birthday having coworkers. I’m a notoriously procrastinator and they saved my bacon a bazillion times. The taro cake is my favorite but when I bought it for my Hawaii raised husband’s birthday cake he got mad… I assumed he was all about the poi, so my bad. You might want to test your audience before bringing home taro or durian cakes both of which are amaaazing but not for everyone. Not to worry.. their red velvet, German chocolate, coconut and mixed fruit cakes are for everybody. And they’re cheap too! I made fun of the spelling of their name I thought it was just a too ridiculously badly translated English version of Delicious Princess, until my French speaking sister in law school me that it was perfectly spelled in French. Oui oui, I’m an ugly American! I’ve recently discovered that their bread is pretty yummy also. Cash or ATM only.

The frosting they use to ice their cakes are not made on site from scratch. Their frosting comes in large tubs that are manufactured in a factory somewhere else.

Please take a look of my wedding cake that made by Victor. There’s no way you can go wrong with him. He is extremely artistic, talented and patient. Not only the cake looked amazing, but it also tasted sooo good! I received tons of compliments for my guests. I highly recommend Victor to anyone who’s looking for a wedding cake for the big day. I feel so blessed that I have found this wonderful vendor for my wedding. :) Wedding @ Palmdale Estates on June 28, 2014

I didn’t have time to special order cake at anywhere so I decided to come in and just grab whatever they have in the fridge. The workers here don’t speak English much so I do not recommend ordering anything over the phone. You might regret it. They’re known for their coconut cake so I grabbed a small one which was $ 16. Their other cake in the fridge was red velvet but only offered in a bigger size so I didn’t get it. This was my first time trying out coconut cake I think and thought it was decent. Not sure why it’s so popular. The only good thing about it was that the cream was not so sweet! I did not like the jelly stuff between the cake. It was so chewy in my opinion. And the coconut flavor wasn’t that strong so it could be a good or bad thing.

I was not greeted by any of the workers here Thought that was rude of them but what really set me off was this other lady who I asked if they do shape cakes because I wanted a football shape cake she said it was expensive and I said money is not a problem. I was gonna place an order for the cake until she didn’t let me choose what filling I want for the cake I wanted strawberries and coconut filling. She said«strawberries or strawberries» «coconut is coconut» I’m like okay. she said” if you mix the two together it will taste like medicine” I didn’t get what I wanted and I was not gonna pay 50 for something I didn’t like. Never again will I order cake from this place.
