Design Set Match

Alisa of Design Set Match consulted with me to figure out who I should hire that would be within my budget for building a laundry /​bathroom combination, as well as sharing her insights about things I should look out for during the project such as fixed price estimates vs hourly estimates, plumbing issues, and whether to have a grey water system installed now vs later.
She is very approachable and clearly knowledgeable as someone to help you interact with builders and get a home project done. Ultimately she recommended that based on my budget I take a different approach to the project, and I totally appreciate her honesty and straightforwardness.

I was referred to Alyssa of Design Set Match after my contractor flaked out at the last minute on my kitchen installation and I was feeling like my plans were unraveling. It was a pleasure to meet her at that point. I had a lovely meeting with her, even thought I did not end up working with her (because my project was very small and more of a do-​it yourself type of plan, she explained). We discussed a design plan for a second kitchen in my house, I found her to be practical, honest and detail oriented. She gave me a lot of good ideas on how to save money and simplify my plan. I had planned to put in a lot of expensive custom made cupboards and a bar. She recommended that I use the shelving that was already in place and use a pre-​fab bar rather than a custom made one. I just went to the store and found sliding glass doors to cover the shelves and a bar that folds into a table. It will save a good amount of money. I will still need to hire a contractor but I can do part of it myself, saving me even more money. I appreciated Alissa’s suggestions and patience and would definitely hire her for a bigger project in the future.

Alisa was so easy to work with. We had never done a big remodeling project before and are so glad we found Alisa to help us out. She listened to the ideas we had, offered suggestions that made so much sense, and we ended up with a very functional and very beautiful kitchen. We couldn’t be happier that we found Alisa to help make our dream kitchen a reality.

Although my bathroom is relatively small, it was my first experience with any type of remodeling, and Alisa helped me in every phase of the project from planning, to shopping, to following-​up with vendors. I initially interviewed three design consultants and was most impressed by Alisa. Not only was she easy to talk to, but she listened carefully to what I wanted. After meeting with me for an hour and reviewing a magazine picture of a style I liked, Alisa was able to pinpoint my taste and, as a result, was able to focus our shopping excursions. I was impressed by how quickly she «got it,» even helping me pick out tile for a fireplace remodel, as well as flooring tile for my entryway. She was also very flexible about the project’s scope and extremely tactful and professional in helping me deal with my less-​than-​satisfactory general contractor.
If you’re looking for someone to help you in all aspects of your project or just drawing up plans or taking you shopping, Alisa is your designer! She was a delight to work with, and I’m already in the process of discussing kitchen remodeling plans with her. That’s the sign of a satisfied customer.
