After having a less-than fabulous experience at nearby Café Platano #2, I was excited when my sister told me about El Mio Foods, just minutes from our humble abode. She raved about the papusa con queso y loroco(which is my absolute favorite) and I vowed to stop by there soon. When I finally went, I was instantly charmed by the husband and wife that own the business. They were sweet, kind folks and we talked at length about the community and a wealth of subjects. When my food arrived, the papusas had that perfectly browned exterior and the lorocos tasted delicious and fresh. I haven’t tried much else from here but they apparently sell Mexican food too, including burritos, tamales, tortas and empanadas. Definitely worth a visit!
