Lan Le is great. Very friendly, very good haircut, very inexpensive. You should try it.
FYI: make sure to ring the doorbell if the door is locked. I just walked in, but Lan said it’s better to call and make an appointment.

A good quality cut from a nice Vietnamese Lady named Lan Le.
She has 17 years of hair cutting experience, so you can feel comfortable when she’s cutting your hair.
She is very friendly and understands how to cut your hair exactly how you want it with all the proper hair clipper attachments.
Takes about 15−20min depending on how much you get done to your hair.
It costs only $ 12 so I just handed her a $ 20 and let her keep the change!
P. S. you might have to call before you go, because Im not familiar with how walk-​ins work there, so I scheduled an appointment and showed up.

I came across this salon on Unilocal trying to look for a close hair salon. I saw Te great reviews so I decided to give a call. Right away Lan told me to come in, I live like two blocks away. I walked towards the salon and right away she greeted me great! She asked what I wanted and she didn’t hesitate to comply. I am giving her 5 stars because as stated in the reviews she is worth it! I’ve been living in the laurel district for 16 years and I always passed by this place. I’m so ashamed! I am so happy at my results because I had a blond ombré and wanted just all plain dark brown. It turned out magnificent!!!
I am most absolutely coming here from now on, and it’s 2 blocks from my house!
She is amazing and so sweet, she deserves the tip and her prices and products are amazing!

I LOVE Lan Le’s cuts and colors. She always does an excellent job doing exactly what i ask for. She’s a lovely person too, and it’s enjoyable to spend time at her salon. I might also mention that her prices are very reasonable.

Lan Le gives the best hair cut I’ve had in my life. She has always provided an excellent haircut at a reasonable price in about 15 min. Even my wife complements me on the new fade. Even better she’s a wonderful lady. I can’t speak more highly of her.

has been a convenient and reasonably priced spot for several years, for both adults and kids, but more recently there has been a decline and staff turnover.
I have hair that is sometimes difficult to deal with, so I originally went there to get cuts from Brian, who you will see mentioned in some of the older reviews. Well, he’s been gone for years now. So I’ve just been trying different stylists until one shows he/​she can cut my hair properly, then staying with them til they leave.
The latest of these was Tammy, and she really does a fine job. She’s noticeably detail-​oriented, and even though she’s also quite fast, my hair always looks great afterwards. Plus she is extremely sweet and pleasant. She really makes getting a haircut super easy and worry-​free.
But here’s the thing — the salon is in some sort of upheaval — maybe even an ownership change — and they are shuffling stylists in and out. So the last time I called to get an appointment with Tammy, I was told she was gone. Good thing I’d gotten her cell number and could track her down! Right now she’s got a station at her sister’s salon in Oakland, at least until she finds a spot back in Alameda or elsewhere. It’s on MacArthur in the Laurel District, and although some might find the neighborhood challenging, the slight travel is worth it for her quality and great prices. You can get her on 510÷866−8486.

Though the salon itself is a hole in the wall kind of place, the haircuts that the proprieter Lan gives are fabulous. Plus, the prices are unbelievably reasonable. I always tip well because she deserves it and because I always feel like I’m getting great value for my money. I’ve been going her now for years and have always been very satisfied.
