Elite Event: Rosamunde Sausage Grill

I’m quite late posting this review, but in my defense, this event was right smack in the middle of me buying a home and moving to Oakland — and it was a perfect distraction! That said, here we are 2 months later and I can finally tell you how great the event was. First of all, it was my first Elite event since I had just moved to the area. I knew no one, but was welcomed and greeted by Stephanie who was super sweet and introduced my guest and me to several other Unilocalers. The atmosphere was fun and casual and made it easy to mingle with others. Secondly, it was my first time enjoying Rosamunde Sausage Grill which was excellent both in taste and in quality of service. This location is in a perfect spot so close to great shops and plenty of parking. I will definitely come back here for some beer and brats. Thank you Stephanie for being so welcoming and setting up a great event!

SO MUCH FUN. I was high off the fun buzz from this event for a good 2 hours afterwards, and then went through sausage withdrawals. It wasn’t pretty.
For not being a huge location, it’s actually very airy and roomy. L-​shaped, wood, lots of windows. We were greeted by dog samples and beer pairings and all kinds of fun condiments. I could drink Lagunitas alllllll day — so good. All the sausages I had were really juicy and flavorful, and I will definitely come back to eat more. Actually, we were eyeing the Andouille in the glass case and made a mental note to pick up a couple of these bad boys for our homemade gumbo.
They had a few picnic benches which made it really great for socializing and meeting new people. I definitely left with a couple new friends. Out of all the Unilocal events that I’ve been to, I have to say this one was my favorite so far. Thanks, Stephanie!

Great beer and a great sausage selection! This was only my second Unilocal Elite Event and actually it was the better of the two. Rosamunde Sausage Grill isn’t too big of a place but for a quick bite and a brew, it’s the ideal size. To me, any place is better with beer so this place instantly kicks off Top Dog and Costco off the KOTH position for best sausage-​in-​a-​bun. (Top Dog still holds the position for late night hot dogs. although the people that serve bacon-​wrapped hot dogs at 2AM after the clubs close give it a run for it’s money).
Now to the food… Out of the four sausage and four beer samples, my favorite was the Cheddar Brat and Lagunitas Daytime IPA. The Cheddar Brat had really good saurkraut and pepper toppings and the cheese literally oozed out of the brat as I bit into it. I already have a strong affinity to Lagunitas so it’s hard to top their offerings. The beer isn’t too hoppy which makes it pleasant to drink. The vegan apple sausage was also rather interesting– in a good way. Kind of tasted of a mushroomy-​consistency more-​so than tofu. The DJ spinning music was also a great touch to the experience.
I live pretty close to here so I’ll be back to try some other options on the menu. Special thanks to our new CM Stephanie for picking us to try out Rosamunde Sausage Grill for the Elite event!

I having been eyeing Rosamunde for a while and was thrilled to have a chance to check it out for a Unilocal Elite event. Stephanie, our new community manager, is fantastic and put on a great party. I liked the special touch of having a DJ. My favorite dog was the beer sausage — moist, flavorful with a delightful kick of spice from the hot peppers, the IPA paired with it was also tasty. The cheddar brat was yummy also.
The owner was welcoming and the staff was awesome. Rosumunde is a great addition to the Temescal. A must visit for sausage and beer lovers.

Free beer and sausages are the perfect way to start the week.
It was my first visit to Rosamunde, but I will be looking for opportunities to come back for happy hour. Our hosts offered 4 sausages paired with 4 of their beers on tap. They even had a vegan option for our non-​meat eater friends. I enjoyed the pairings. The sausages I tried were their famous beer sausage, the duck and fig, and the cheddar-​stuffed sausage. All 3 were delicious and I helped myself to several rounds of each.
The event was not too crowded and there was enough food to make it a meal and enough beer to get a bit tipsy. The 80s tunes chosen by the DJ added to the atmosphere. I had the great chance to talk to old friends and meet some new faces.

So a vegetarian walks into this adorbz lil’ sausage fest…
And has a fabulous time surrounded by totally hospitable, fly folks and welcomin’ Unilocalers down to groove and a DJ all too ready and able to lure us all into shaking what our mamas gave us. Shame on me for forgetting the name of the muy, muy sweetheart bartender and grill-​it-​up-​gurus behind the counter who offered slammin’ service and evoked giggles straight from the gut every time we sparked a conversation.
I have to keep it real here: I am not a burrr drinker. But when offered perfect pairings and tempting tastings of all four selections, I had no choice but to oblige. The Drake Amber was a little too dark for my tastes, so both myself and my gorgeous plus one ended up with two mugs o’ Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier (I pretty much live to drink things I can’t pronounce) and smiles that stretched from ear to ear. Crisp, bubbly without being overwhelming and light, it was like the Lily Pulitzer of beers in that piece.
Okay, on to that super sausage! The vegan apple sage made my heart sing with the first bite of peppered-​with-​peppers, crunchy-​carrot-​laced, onion-​orchestrated goodness. The sausage itself was… Sausage-​y! It didn’t taste like vegan filler subsidized commodity corn wafer snack. It was so good that my meat-​loving supafly plus one even had one herself in place of her typical carnivorous fare. And she loved it too!
Thank you Unilocal for putting on a great event and making my Monday night more than the usual vision of me sprawled sideways on my bed with the AC on full blizzznast, face-​first in a bowl of Greek yogurt or some other confection. And SUPER thank you Stephanie and all you other awesome folks for your warm welcome! (Mah jong soon?!) Can’t wait to see you all again pronto!

WOO! SAUSAGE FEST! (Sorry, I had to.)
I’ve been to the other Rosamunde locations plenty of times, and I even had them cater a recent event for my office. I was excited to see the newest location on Telegraph and it did not disappoint! Even though I had tried many of the menu items already, I hadn’t tried some of the sausages that was offered last night, and the local beer pairings were a very generous touch.
It was great to see Jon and finally meet Stephanie. I was happy to meet the Rosamunde owner, though now reading that he’s from San Diego makes me wish I talked to him about that! My husband and I are both SD natives!
As always, thank you for organizing such fun events for us Unilocalers. Mondays are not my favorite and this was an excellent way to kick off this work week! Cheers!

Who let the dogs out?
OK they (and you) may have heard that line before. But our hosts at Rosamunde earned a repeat. Lucky Unilocalers got a wonderland of weenies to quell the Monday blahs. Eating light, I sampled but two:
— first, the duck & fig wurst, served with mango chutney, sauerkraut and hot/​sweet peppers. nicely just-​tingly spicy with a savory undercurrent; and
— second, the cheddar brat served with Curry ketchup, honey wasabi mustard, kraut and the hot/​sweet peppers.
Of the two, the latter was my favored; the cheese imparting a nice ooziness to the eating experience. I like to let the food pros do their magic, so I was delighted that Rosamunde did the seasoning and condiments match-​ups for us.
All dogs came with beer pairings — what a foodie-​loving touch! I instead opted to buy a nice ginger beer, cuz no single question labels a person deadbeat more than «do you serve a gluten-​free beer option?»
All in all, an excellent time, seeing a few familiar faces and getting to meet a few new ones. The music was a bit loud for casual conversation, but my choice to stand 8 feet from the DJ’s speakers may have had something to do with that.
Steph, I’m quickly becoming in awe of you. Thanks again for being the host with the most. And for co-​host John: All, make sure you wish him a happy one-​year anniversary with Unilocal!Hope it’s the first of many, my friend. Thanks to you, and Steph, and all of Unilocal — and especially Rosamunde — for the best wurst night I’ve had of late.

This was an awesome event in the heart of Temescal, Oakland! The DJ had some fun beats and Rosamunde was more than hospitable. I enjoyed all 4 types of sausage: duck + fig, cheddar brat, beer sausage, and vegan apple sage. My favorite was the beer sausage, but the cheddar brat was a close second oozing with pockets of white cheddar. The house giardiniera made the sausages interesting too. I liked the Drake’s Amber and Weihenstephaner hefeweizen were great pairings. What a lovely Monday evening :)

Starting the week off right with a Unilocal elite event on a Monday night!
I’m a fan of Rosamunde. They’re a local small business that’s growing and if Thrilllist predictions are right they are set to go big. I’m so glad I can say that I remember when… They opened up their Swans Market spot and then their Temescal spot… It’s like when your neighbor makes it big and you cant help but be happy for them. You root for the home team if you know what I mean.
Tonight we had four thoughtful pairings of their delicious dogs and locally brewed beers. Can’t really ask for anything more. I enjoyed their classic and the gooey center of their new cheddar brat really hit the spot for me.
Thank you Josh for shutting the place down for the night and hosting our East Bay family. Thank you Steph for putting it together, really cool to finally meeting you. And thank you all the chill folks, the familiar faces, the new elites, that helped start my week right. Cheers to Monday night!

My very first visit to one of the Rosamunde Sausage locations! I had no problems finding parking on the street. The Temescal location is right across from the old Hooper’s Candies. Upon check-​in, we were greeted by Jon and then we enjoyed some Unilocal treats: peppermint candy, sweat bands and lip balm! And the Rosamunde staff passed out some free Rosemunde stickers! It was a fun night for a gathering and great to finally meet Stephanie Y., the new East Bay Community Manager, The DJ made the event inviting and fun, without being overbearing.
Our tastebuds were treated to 4 types of sausages: beer sausage served with garlic pepper mayo, curry ketchup, grilled onions and hot & sweet peppers; cheddar brat served with curry ketchup, honey wasabi mustard, sauerkraut, hot & sweet peppers; duck & fig served with mango chutney, sauerkraut, hot & sweet peppers; and vegan apple sage served with mango chutney, grilled onions, hot & sweet peppers. Top marks to the beer sausage with a close second to the duck & fig! I also enjoyed the light Lagunitas beer to go with the sausages.
Tonight was a great way to end a Monday evening! Many thanks to Stephanie, Jon and the Rosemunde staff!
