I have started using FastPrint on a regular basis — Natalie, Tom and Francesca are incredible. If there is a typo or a mistake on my print job, Tom always emails me immediately to review it, instead of printing 100 copies blindly. They are great at helping me even when I have rush, last-​minute jobs. They also undercut the printing prices of both Staples and Kinkos/​FedEx (believe me, I did my research)! Five stars.

As usual, Fastprint comes through! Every year, I am behind on my Christmas cards. I do them in an ancient version of Photoshop which seems to be no problem for Fastprint. I think Tom waits for me because he’s done them every year and knows I’ll be late. This year, I moved to Reno and assumed I would find a local printer. None!!! Yikes!!! What now??? I call Tom, he send me a proof within minutes, they print the cards and ship them overnight! What was I thinking? That I could get better service elsewhere? Never!
Thank you EB and Tom! You saved my bacon again!

Thank you Fastprint Copying for the great customer service on Friday early morning. You were fast and efficient, but most of all had great customer service sense. Thanks again!

Pros: Absolutely none.
Cons: Rude customer service, $ 5 minimum for any purchase, $ 3 charge to open a file to print (which means if pages are in separate pdf’s you pay $ 3/​file. No lies, no joke, no compromise).
Conclusion: Take your business elsewhere.

Normally I write my Unilocal reviews like that, but service and doing business here at Fastprint is so terrible that I need to list all the reasons for why it sucks.
The bottomline is (I’m assuming by their behavior) that the owner does not want to do small volume prints (small volume meaning 1 – 20 pages, as in you have an emergency and need a printer to print a rent application or something…). He goes through such great lengths to avoid this that he slaps on a $ 5 minimum to print a sheet of paper and a $ 3 fee to open a file. God forbid you have to print 10 pages from 10 different word documents.
I’ve lived here for 4 years and occasionally tried to print here. The owner is rude as ever and he even trained his new hire to be as rude as him. I feel sorry for the employee (s). Even if he’s nice, he has to do exactly what the boss says. Absolutely no negotiations. They might as well stick a sign on the front door that says: We don’t want your business. Go away.
I wanted to look for a more hardy type of paper to print some playing cards. He gave me some samples to flip through myself. That’s great! Since the price wasn’t listed anywhere on the samples, I asked for price quotes for my paper choices. He gave me prices for about 3 – 4 types of paper and started to get annoyed and huffy. He dragged his feet, sigh-​ed, gave me rude glances. Was purposely unhelpful as if hoping that I would give up and leave. I have no idea what he was annoyed with. I was the only customer there the whole time (and all the other times I try to print there). And I even waited patiently for him to finish with another customer that came to pick up his order.
Based on Unilocal reviews, I am not the only one who exclaimed: «$ 5 minimum fee to print 3 sheets in black and white?!» And the response is the same: «That’s not our problem». Not even a half-​hearted «I’m sorry». Just plain «Go away. Go away. Go away.»
When I finally chose a type of paper, he jokingly said, «That’s your final choice? Haha.» Oh har har har. I’m sorry I had to ask so many questions, it was because you were so unhelpful and uninformative.
Since Fastprint has been in business for a while, I’m assuming they have a massive list of bulk print orders to keep them in business. Fine, whatever. But if you came on Unilocal to look for a nice print store who will be kind to you, treat you with respect and aim to provide you with the best customer service, look elsewhere.
From now on, I’m going to another print store (maybe the one on Piedmont based on reviews) even if I have to pay more. Seriously, I do not care for this place. What a disgrace to Lakeshore Ave.

Horribly rude service. Spoke to the owner about an order I had to pick up. He was very unaccomodating and would not listen to reason. I wouldn’t be surprised if he published bogus Unilocal ratings. Take your business to somewhere that treats customers with respect and kindness!

I have been using Fastprint for over twenty years. I run a business that has used Fastprint to copy and ship thousands of training manuals and flyers and my wife uses them to print her monthly national newsletter. They have also done her book of poetry. We do all our copying at Fastprint so we are spending in excess of $ 15,000 a year there. The combination of their quality, cost and customer service exceeds any other print place by a long shot. They ship thousands of copies for me each year and they always arrive on time and done perfectly which is an amazing track record. My wife’s newsletter uses photos and sometimes the copies come out better than the originals becasuse of the care they take with the work. The owner EB will go the extra mile and beyond to do your job. He is so easy to work with and even when the place is very busy focuses on his conversation on your needs. He could teach customer service to a lot of businesses. They invest in state of the art equipment including a copier that can page number your materials. Other places do it by hand and it looks like it. Like many small businesses they can experience occasional employee turnover and the one bad review must have happened when some new employees took on the work. But I’ve never had that problem. I wish the person that had that experience had talked with EB and given them a chance to remedy the situation which I know would have happened. I suggest people always let the owner of a business know about a problem before reviewing a place on Unilocal.I travel all over the country and do business with all types of businesses and there are only a handful of places that I would recommend as highly as Fastprint. Belive me my business and my wife’s depend on quality copying and we would not be so loyal to this place if they didn’t deserve it.

LAZY, CHEAP AND POOR QUALITY.
I brought a small but important job to them — an important letter with some pictures that I wanted printed on glossy or otherwise nice paper. One employee offered me two paper options, and I asked for a proof to see how it would look. There were some problems with it, such as the color being completely off and some of the text showing strangely. He said he could fix the fact that the color looked very different than it did in the PDF. I took the PDF home and fixed the text problem, then brought it back. I asked him if he could make it into a booklet rather than simply stapled. He said no, it wasn’t worth their time to do that on such a small job.
So I left and sought other print options. When the other printer I contacted didn’t get back to me, I brought it back to Fastprint, I was passed to another employee, and explained that I was okay with the stapled copies but that the color needed to be adjusted per the first employee’s statement that he could ‘turn down the magenta’ in the printer setup. This employee printed me one copy, this time on cheaper paper than what I had asked for, and the pictures were still much more red than on the PDF. The employee said ‘they look the same to me’, and when I said that I didn’t think this was okay for me (remember this is an important letter and I didn’t want the faces in the pictures being all red!), and could he turn it down more, he said no — they had to pay for the copies and he wasn’t willing to try again. I was surprised by this given it had taken him all of 2 minutes and 2 sheets of cheap paper to print a proof and he was giving up a $ 70 job. He then said that they have to pay Xerox for each copy they made and they couldn’t ‘afford’ to print another copy. However, I decided ok — this also isn’t worth his time so I’ll leave, and he insisted I leave the copy of the letter with him as ‘proof’, unless I wanted to pay for this poor quality proof. I gave him my personal letter and left.
I drove 5 minutes away to Piedmont Copy (who I hadn’t called the first time), and not only were they able to immediately adjust the color to fix the redness problem — but they formatted it in just a few minutes (while a waited) to 11×7 glossy (they, in contrast, had many paper options for me) and were happy to print a booklet. They printed me 3 proofs to ensure I was happy, and charged me almost ½ the price for the job that I actually wanted!!! All without the attitude problem I experienced at Fastprint.
I don’t understand the positive reviews on Fastprint. At least one of them reads like it was written by a bad ad agency. It doesn’t look legit. Avoid this place.

My nonprofit organization has been using FastPrint for years due to the low cost, speed and great customer service. We are often butting up against deadlines, and FastPrint’s quick turn around time has been invaluable.
And the quality has been great. We just did a mass mailing, and FastPrint managed to identify and pull the ONE error out of six hundred letters. They have been a load off of my mind in the workplace.

This neighborhood print shop is fast and professional. They are able to deliver any job on time and at a great price.
I have used fast print for 6 years to print posters, brochures, booklets, and postcards, with consistent, solid results.
They are also nice people to work with.

FastPrint is a super professional reliable copy service for big and small jobs. It is a local business with one location, not a chain, and their prices are lower than the chains.

When I had a membership directory to print for my professional organization that needed to be turned around quickly midday on Friday, I called EB at Fast Print, who we have used for smaller jobs in the past with good results. Not only did the job get done by 5:00 pm, the directories look great (I emailed an electronic pdf version to him directly) and the service was impeccable. The only downside of Fast Print is that they aren’t open on the weekend (but I’m not subtracting any stars because they work hard on Fridays!). I will definitely use Fast Print in the future for jobs large and small.

When I thought I’d save some money on inserts for my wedding invitations, I didn’t know what I was getting into. Bleed? What’s that? Crop marks? Huh?
Luckily, the people at Fast Print are as patient and professional as they could be. EB walked me through the image setup process through a series of back and forth e-​mails that probably would have driven most people crazy. I eventually conquered CS3 and got my file right, and they proofed, printed, and cut my 2 projects around in just about 24 hours.
Plain and simple, these guys rock. I’ll go to them for all my printing needs from here on out.

I fully recommend Fastprint to anyone looking for low cost, quality printing with great customer service.
I had to order business cards for my employer recently and Fastprint was amazing. We were helped by EB and he went above and beyond the customer service of the larger print shops and even helped us clean up our graphics.
Even with all this help, they had a faster turn around and the price of the order still came out a good 30% below the prices quoted from the other print shops – many of them who base their reputation on their low prices.
While I encourage the use of green printing when ever possible, fast print is a great resource for those who need inexpensive, fast, & friendly printing.
