Lots of construction but I can see this area is really building up into something bigger and better. Just what this area needs. Good job to the city councilman who managed to pull this off.

I just drove through the development Sunday night and it is fantastic looking. The first thing I spotted when I drove into the parking lot was a very visible security guard stationed in the parking lot. The Ross store is enormous. The Wells Fargo is well placed and looks good. But the very clean design of the dominating store, FoodsCo, clearly serves as the cornerstone. Driving through this, you’d think you were in Walnut Creek, not East Oakland.
Other chain stores and restaurants are moving into East Oakland too. CVS has managed to successfully open a large store on the corner of 73rd and Bancroft.
