Fortune Sushi Sogo

Called for delivery. Delivered to wrong address 1^st. When food came charged $ 5 more than price quoted, no receipt, no explanation… then found hair in my food!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! I want my money back!!!

I’m the type of person that eats sushi without soy sauce and/​or wasabi, because I like to taste the nuances of flavor. It is a bit saltier than what I prefer, but what can I do? Seafood usually comes from salt-​water creatures.
One of the best sushi joints I have eaten from. The sushi is definitely a lot better than what I paid for — better than sushi I have paid twice or thrice the amount for. Maybe it’s because I didn’t have that high of expectation, but I am sure I had worse sushi for the same price.
I suspect a 5-​star underpaid chef from a different country. Based on the locale and setting, I am guessing that’s how they also keep the price down. It’s a clean place. It’s not a bustling restaurant. Not where I would want to hang out at. It’s good at what it’s mainly meant for — take-​out and delivery.
They also serve Chinese and American genres of food there under a different label, but I have yet to try it.

Pros: fast delivery (at least to my house), ordering available via GrubHub, decent quality fish
Cons: This is the first place we’ve ordered chirashi (a relatively standard item at sushi restaurants, and a dish I order pretty much everywhere) where it has come with some manner of seasoning buried between the fish and rice (spices and some manner of soy-​containing substance which I didn’t find until halfway through eating it). As someone with multiple food allergies, surprise «secret sauces» are generally not exciting for me, and indeed, I had a fabulous allergic reaction to it.
The second time we ordered from them, we specifically asked for this to be left off my food. The person staffing the phone seemed wildly unaware of the menu, to the point where we had to spell «chirashi» for her multiple times to order it. We then asked for it without the seasoning and were assured that this was possible. When our food was delivered soon after, the secret sauce was again buried in there. We called to complain, and rather than receiving any manner of apology/​acknowledgement, we were told that there was nothing except tobiko and seasame on that dish (untrue), and that there was nothing wrong with our order. In short: tough luck, deal with it, enjoy the food you can’t eat. Not ordering from here again.

ordered delivery from these guys via GrubHub, and let me tell you they are amazing! The food came fast, and they were really friendly. It also arrived in this cute little multi colored box, which made me feel like I was getting a present! But the food, the food is what really makes them stand above the competition. The miso soup had a wonderful rich flavor, with mushrooms! Like those thin small little mushrooms, the fancy ones. I got two rolls, a rainbow and a smoke. both had extra fresh fish. The smoke roll is this amazing combination of freshwater eel, avocado, and cantaloupe, with some fresh salmon and lemon and a touch of mayo on top. Whoever came up with this combo, I’d like to give them a kiss! I felt like I died and gone to heaven. Complete with angels singing, the sky opening up to allow a ray of sun, everything. A must try!
