Ms. Tamika is a very social, friendly, and welcoming hairdresser — but, unfortunately, the haircut she gave me was nothing short of bad. The cut was uneven, and way too short (I asked for a minor trim, just to clean up dead ends — and went home with at least 1.5 to 2 inches off my already short hair).
I explained that I wear my hair in a side part, twice. And she still cut my hair in a center part — she explained that this was because the part would be universal and I could wear my hair parted to either side — something I never do and didn’t want.
The cut is uneven — crooked. When I style my hair there are chunks that are longer in certain places and shorter in others with no transition — and it looks pretty awful.
The cut was $ 70+tip — there were no prices posted in the shop so I had no idea it would cost that much until the moment I had to pay. I told her I wasn’t sure I liked the cut and, because she had another customer waiting and didn’t have enough time to fix the cut, she said I could call and come back later if I wanted to. Needless to say, I didn’t.
I wouldn’t recommend this spot.

I have been seeing Tamika for several years for my hair care and eyebrow needs. I have been to many people in the past that didn’t do a very good job or take care of what I needed. When I found Tamika at her old location before she moved in to her new location, I was hoping she would be different. When she got done with my hair cut and eyebrows waxed, I was beyond happy. Tamika is the very first one I ever let color my hair and he did the most amazing job ever. Tamika took her time to listen to what I wanted and also have her input on what she felt my hair needed. It has now literally come to the point where I have told Tamika that she can do whatever to my hair. That is how much I trust her and know that she will do a wonderful job. My last hair cut, color and eyebrow waxing that I had done on my birthday was wonderful. I’ve had so many people continue to tell me how much they love how my hair looks. It’s all thanks to the wonderful Tamika. I can say she is the best I have ever seen and I will never go see anyone else ever again!

I enjoy visiting Tamika at her new downtown location near 14^th and Franklin. She not only gives me a professional haircut, she helps me feel relaxed and looking great. If I need a shampoo or want some special formula applied to my hair, she’ll happily oblige. There is no sense of rush with Tamika but at the same time, she is efficient and attentive to give you the cut you want.

TAMIKA had been doing my hair for years. I have curly hair and she knows how to make to beautiful. I highly recommend her for hair cut, color, style, and wax. I have yet to be disappointed in five years.
