Halal Shish Kabab

I have tried these guys twice on seamless. Both times they were mysteriously closed and I had to order elsewhere 20 min later. Screw this place.

I ordered the Mediterranean platter. They made and charged me for two orders. I was too meek to let them know I had only ordered one. I replayed my order in my head a thousand times and cannot discern how this mistake was made.
The food was delicious. I guess the receptionist is really learning to cook. She was apologetic because that bum didn’t show up again. Use your best ESL English, and prepare to get two orders when you really ask for one. It helps to have a hungry colleague on hand.

This is some of the best middle eastern food around (which is probably why you can hear Arab speakers dining there). The place is unassuming, and the sign and name are misleadingly fast-​foody. This replaced Maisa, which was quite good. This place is better. The Dolmas have a nice pickle flavor and made me into a Dolma-​eater finally. The greek salad is dusted with herbs. The falafel is hot and crispy and fresh and green inside. Hummus and baba ganoush were quite nice. The spicy sauce that comes with the med plates is outstanding and goes great with hummus and falafel mashed together. This place deserves more than a 4, but I have not tried many options, and I am sure different cooks may do things differently there. Also, it can be slow (or fast). The chef we have had the last three times clearly has an awareness of seasoning and the real cuisine of this region. Way above average.

Shawarma chicken wrap ($ 6.95) and Shish kabab combo ($ 11.95). Total $ 20+ Ordered to go. Took 15 minutes. Customer service was good. Was offered iced water while waiting. Food was still hot when I got home. Good portion size. Everything was tasty & delicious! Love the tzatziki sauce in the shawarma wrap. Also love the lil sides that came with the kababs. Rice, hummus, pita bread & hot sauce were all yummy! Will be back.

I gave Shish Kabab a second chance and the food was great! After my bad experience trying to order with
, I decided to order over the phone this time, for delivery. The food came quickly (30 minutes) and was hot, fresh, and delicious! Way better than your average delivery restaurant. Definitely give it a try!

This is the best Falafel sandwich in the city of oakland! The Halal Shish Kabab Restaurant is also vegetarian friendly. The service is great and the food is delivered quickly. This is a great place to grab a quick lunch or stay and chat with friends.
This is one of Oakand’s best kept secrets.

Shish Kebab had just a waiter and a cook present post noon. décor doesn’t look much different from the previous occupant.
eats: gyro wrap with free tea (6.95), lunch special
–gyro looked small. contained the usual gyro meat, tomato, lettuce, green onion, cucumbers, tzatziki sauce
–pleasant taste, nothing unusal, sauce very light
–notice a leak from bag. sauce cup had leaked all the hot oil.
*precautions of wrapping cup in aluminum foil didn’t help. .
take outs:
–got refill on tea while waiting for take out.
–schwarma orders looked bigger.
–food quality average at best.

They’ve cancelled my order twice.

I ordered delivery from shish kebab and have regretted every aspect of this meal. First off, they charge a $ 3 delivery fee and require an $ 18 minimum so one might think they’d show up on time, with hot food, that tastes good for that. No.
They showed up one hour and 10 minutes after I ordered the food, and not only was the entire order cold, ¹⁄₃^rd of the order was missing. The food that arrived was made with the special notes we asked for but was cold, bland, and the flatbread was so stale it flaked apart when trying to eat it. When the delivery guy came back — 45 minutes later — the missing order was warm, but covered in dairy, which we had explicitly said not to include due to allergies. So not only did it take almost 2 hours for one of us to get our food, but it wasn’t even able to be eaten.
Avoid for delivery and even then the food is mediocre at best.

What can I say, fabulous Mediterranean food at affordable prices. Best hummus in town! Everything on the menu is fantastic. The people who work there are also extremely helpful and nice. You can probably tell.. . I’m a regular.

The food here is great and the people are amazingly helpful and nice. They are a part of the Clarion Hotel in downtown Oakland. In the morning they serve continential breakfast and breakfast snadwiches and for lunch they switch to Mediterranean food (gyros, shwarma, hummus, falafel, etc.) A nice place to check out! Forgot to add that they do online deliveries through GrubHub an Eat 24.

This is a fun place to have lunch at in Downtown Oakland. Can’t say much about it other than the fact I had a combination lamb/​chicken kebab dish that came with a medittaranian like salad and yellow rice.
It was pretty tasty. Cost around $ 11 – 12.
Would come here again, cuz, I’m a meateater. Meateaters are in their element here.

This is a restaurant under new ownership that is next to the Clarion Hotel and across the street form the Tribune Tower. It is spacious new and very nicely decorated. The service is great and I spoke with the owner, who is very warm and friendly. The food is middle eastern Kabobs excellent hummus babaganoush. Also has good hamburgers, reasonable prices. Owner assures me all the meat is halal. Owner tells me he has a pretty good lunch crowd but not too many people at dinner. It is easy to park here after 5pm, so I encourage everyone to try this place it is a real gem!

My falafel wrap was tasty and reasonably priced; the service was quick and very friendly. Definitely going to be going back to try some of the other items on the menu (foul mudammas, I’m looking at you).
