Yes! So glad they are doing this with this space. I even wanted to start a grocery here, when the bike shop was going out of business. It’s like they read my mind (!) and now they’re doing that.
Watch out, the eggs are like $ 13 dollars for a dozen, but other than that, reasonable prices can be found here, and of course super fresh food. They rarely have citrus, usually in the form of oranges. But yeah, this place rocks, so very glad they exist.

I consider my farmbox a little weekly treasure chest of fresh, local, and vibrant goodness. No frills, super local, and high quality, a shop this side of our lake really needs. I love that I can swing by on Wednesday to replenish my fresh food stash, supplementing my weekend farmer’s market run. So grateful this spot has opened and hold it dear as a place I look forward to visiting each week.

But they open when & if they please. I arrive at 3 pm– their posted time and they have a note saying they will open at 3:20. You are a business!!! Please behave like one– or post on your Facebook when you aren’t opening on time.

I live a block away and shopped here about 10 times. First off, I AM NOT A FOODIE. I just love quality, and I’m willing to pay for it. I wish I could give them five stars as I would like to have a little grocery in the hood but I’ve had so many disappointments! The latest? A dozen eggs that are «cage free» (which as anybody who has investigated a little knows is an empty meaningless term) for $ 9.00 when I can buy authentic pasture eggs for less (which means, among other things, that there are no cages for the chickens at all, only roosts and wild foods to eat like bugs). The egg yokes were yellow not orange (very important) and they tasted nasty. That’s happened three times now, $ 27.00 wasted. Other problems here, like stale nuts (i.e. pistachios that were left open too long and now soft and mushy; wilting produce (get some ice to keep things cool if you don’t have the money for a fridge) and mislabeled produce. If they had a web site with email, or a phone number I would have rather contacted them privately but there is no way to do that apparently. I do wish them well, but they really need to justify their prices, study up a bit on nutrition, food preservation, and really try and serve this working class neighborhood. I have to wonder about all the positive reviews here, are they 20-​somethings just learning about food? Have they shopped here a lot or once?

Humblebee Grocery is anything but humble! I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and was delighted to see an organic grocery store «pop up» under the old Wesley Launderette sign. I’m a consumer of organic produce and often make the trek to Monterey Market to find affordable, local organic produce. Eager to try a local venue and support local shop owners I grabbed my wallet and headed to the store. I was aghast with the price tags I greeted me. $ 9 for a carton of eggs. During strawberry season they wanted $ 6 for a little basket of berries. My word, I can pay $ 3 for a basket of organic strawberries anywhere else! Who are these women fooling? Humble grocery is doing the neighborhood a great disservice by charging ludicrous, outrageous prices for fresh, organic food. It’s almost as though they forgot what neighborhood they’re in. Those prices might work in Piedmont but they certainly aren’t working here by the lake. Not once have a noticed a line out the door or a mere handful of shoppers inside. And one more thing, the service is what I would call… a clique of young female millennials trying to run a cute little business of precious items from the farm. Word to the wise, sisters, study up on food justice, the neighborhood you’re living in, and take a stand on the right side of equity and social justice when it comes to access to good, healthy food for the people.

Went to the local pop up grocery for the first time today! Everything is so tasty and fresh. Can’t wait for the farmbox and for extended hours!

Super cute, good selection, beautiful produce. Would love to see this go closer to full service. Maybe work on the customer service a little too. There’s plenty of room between «customer service» at a coop where people are standoffish-​rude because they can be and where people are overly pushy and fake because they are forced to be. There’s plenty of room in between the two to sell products that you believe in while showing that you appreciate that people spend their money at your store.

This place has forever ruined any other fruits and veggies for me. The only thing comparable is when you have the rare chance to eat anything right off the vine…
Their selection is small each week, but everything is amazing. Their strawberries are some of the sweetest I’ve ever had and the tomatoes are by far the most flavorful. It goes to show that while organic is the best choice… going with somewhere that also provides locally grown produce is even better.
They also have extra goodies like compotes and jams… the strawberry basil jam is to die for.
I look forward to going here every week… I live in the neighborhood which makes it all the better!

A small, beautiful selection of goods. I bought squash, potatoes, peppers, and a few other things to roast for Thanksgiving. I thought I was just taking a peek and would buy items next week, but the selection was so pretty, I couldn’t help myself! The eggs were so beautiful, but since I’m allergic, I could hold off. ;) I’ll possibly add a star, after I taste the produce.
