GREAT GREAT GREAT experience from start to finish. Super friendly and professional. Worked within my budget– educated me on my options. First time getting an armchair reupholstered. I did my own dining room chairs but knew a professional was required for the wingback chair I have dragged from place to place b/​c I grew up with it. George took care to revive it, recover it and get it back to me asap— LOVE it! Looks beautiful! Thanks for such a positive experience!

Stay Away! What I was quoted by them was 3 – 4 times higher than all the other companies I got estimates from. Putting that aside, perhaps they could be a better service, but there customer service was absolutely horrific. The guy made me feel like I was a dirtbag for coming in to ask questions. I’ll take my project elsewhere and highly recommend not even wasting your time going here.

I really like this firm. We needed a treatment table re-​covered in a vinyl… medical grade vinyl in case you are wondering. Anyhow, this firm offered a reasonable quote and outstanding follow through. In fact, they stopped by our medical facility to help unscrew the table top and then to my surprise we had a same day turn-​around. I think back to the old days of doctors making house calls, then I think of these professionals that drive to your business twice in the same day. As for quality, well these are $ 4000 treatment tables that look brand new. Pretty impressive. Hence, they get the five star review that was fully deserved.

These guys are the best. Brought in my curbside find with skepticism that it could ever be salvaged. Jose insisted it had the right bones (er springs) and that George could make it hapen.
Reupholstery is more expensive than you think but George was so kind, included the fabric (that Jose brilliantly had vision for and I so didn’t) and talked me through it all. He even put up with me dragging my Mom in for second opinions.
Love love love these guys, can’t wait to go dumpster diving again!!!

Have used JC’s for over 15 years now and I am always delighted with their work. I have recommended them to many friends and all have been thrilled with their professionalism and prompt service. George does beautiful work and has recovered many of my grandmothers old pieces of very good furniture. Jose is at the front desk and is always helpful and charming. This is the place to go if you want it done right.

I had lived a few miles from this place for more than 20 years, and always drove past it, but never used them.
When our 6 kitchen chairs of 20 years needed to be reupholstered I decided to give them a try. The shop is only a few doors away from the Fruitvale Ave/​McArthur frwy off/​on ramp. Very convenient location, while not in the best neighborhood in town… oh well, but hey: I wasn’t moving there.
I chose the fabric from the sample books they had on hand, and they did the rest. Re-​covered, and with new foam. The chairs were like new. Reasonable price too, and they were done in under 2 weeks.
Last month, my GF decided to recover several chairs that came from her mother’s apartment. Nice New York/​Scandinavian style wood frames from the 1960s. The seats/​cushions were flat and the fabric was really sorry looking, flat and worn out.
Again, 10 years after I first went there, we chose JC upholstery. Due to the foam being so expensive currently (there’s cheap, and then there’s quality), the chairs reupholstering cost was more than cheap new chairs. The end product however: Priceless. I highly recommend them. Three different projects, and all three were completed in a timely manner, and the workmanship involved was decidedly excellent. The owner, his Dad, and son all work in the back. In the words of the former govenator: ‘Al be Back’! I can’t figure out why no one else has bothered to write a review on this shop. Come on Redwood Heights/​Dimond District… shout it out.
