Jenkin Bros Acme Towing Service, Inc

After waiting 2 hours for another company that promised they would be there in 45 minutes, I called Jenkin Bros. and they were there in 10 minutes! Awesome customer service. Very professional and fast! The driver was so nice… even offered me something to drink and snack on. They will definitely be first call from now on!

I was in a car accident last year, and Jenkin Bros towed my car to their garage in Oakland. A few days later, my insurance company was taking it to the lot where totaled cars go to die, somewhere in the far south bay. I called Jenkin Bros to say I’d be coming to get a few things I’d forgotten in the car.
It took me forever to get there because no car = AC Transit. My poor auto was already hitched to the trailer and driver was ready to go. But Jack of Jenkin Bros had already snagged all the stuff out of the car for me, after being told about my call. And he could not have been nicer about it.
It was a brief encouter, but I was impressed and very grateful. Both Jack and the woman who had answered my call were great. They seemed to care, and to take pride in running a good business. I don’t have much reason to use a tow company, knock on wood. But if I did, I’d call Jenkin Bros every time.

Let’s face it, no one really wants to deal with a tow company. Especially when it’s your car (actually my brother’s car that I parked in the wrong area) being towed unexpectedly. Yea, I was that girl…
Ok, so now that THAT’s out of the way, I don’t know the guy’s name but he’s a MAJOR Raiders fan (Raiders tattoos, truck is all Raider-​ed out). He has to be one of the nicest people out there. The car’s already hitched up on his tow truck, he could’ve been a massive, apathetic jerk and just took off. He had the car. But he was mad cool and worked with us (if we paid immediately, it was a fraction of the $ 400 towing charge). My bro and I scrambled to get the money together. He actually waited probably about 20 minutes in total while we pooled some emergency funds (friend had to come help) and told us anecdotal stories in the meantime. I understand he was just doing his job, he has to bring food to the table too. Bless him for being kind.
Again, no one wants to deal with a tow company, right? If your car has been towed, or if your car broke down and has to be towed to the mechanic, you’re grumpy. The inconvenience, the unexpected, added expense — it can be a nightmare. That being said, kindness and a good heart needs to be rewarded and while he has ostensibly a thankless job (with a bunch of us people who are grumpy because of the inconvenience of having/​needing our car towed), he was amazing and the only way I can thank him is to write this review.
