Kymberly Jackson, Pied Piper of the Bay

Kymberly Jackson performed at Easter Hill United Methodist Church in Richmond California on February 28^th for their Black History Celebration and Program. This was the first time I had even seen or heard of Kymberly Jackson. When she approached the podium/​stage area prior to performing, she reminded us about our heritage as African Americans and made a poignant statement that we were not slaves until we reached the shores of the US. She then proceeded to demonstrate pure magic on the flute. Her performance was simply an expression of Contemporary Jazz perfection! I was fortunate enough to have met her after her performance and talked to her briefly about her work. Kymberly’s ability to move an audience by her charisma as well as her musical talent are virtues rarely seen. Although this was only a church venue and the price was simply a standard church offering, I would have gladly paid much much more.
This was truly a treat!
I recommend her performances for anyone who favors the flute within a contemporary jazz genre, or whomever loves great music in general.

Kymberly Jackson is amazing! On June 30, 2013 Kymberly played at a fundraiser for VONA/​Voices at Uptown Auto Body in Oakland. This was the first fundraising event for VONA and we wanted to create an a welcoming expansive and loving atmosphere that welcomed folks into the VONA/​Voices community of writers of color. Kymberly’s music set that mood filling the space with her beautiful music. She had the whole room moving and singing along in their seats. Her wonderful music set the stage and the mood for the audience to embrace the readings by local writers, the panel discussion of distinguished writers and the all important fundraising pitch! Kymberly was super flexible and accommodating when things and timing changed, so easy to work with, and clear. I would recommend Kymberly without reservation to any group that’s ready to fill a room with fantastic music and love.

OMG!!’ I had a 50^th Birthday Basha at the ME restaurant and lounge and fortunately Kymberly Jackson was a featured artist with the Greg ballad and the Dream Set band.
Kymberly tore it up!
Not only did she show us how funky a flute can be with all her pied piper rhythms, melodies and innate musicality, she entertained us with an awesome performance.
She played and danced with me, she played and sat down at the tables with my guest. Even my grandfather was feelin her flow!
She gave it to us and created a vibe that took my special night to another level. My guest can’t stop talking about it.
She is an awesome flutist and entertainer and should be signed to a major label performing and sharing her talent with the world!
If you have a chance, try and check her out. If you have the means, procure her for your event. She will not disappoint!!!

KJ is amazing! The energy she brings to shows is off the hook and she always engages her audience. I also had the luxury of having KJ play the flute at my wedding, and she did such an amazing job. I had guests commenting after the wedding about how beautiful it was to have her «flute me down the aisle».
If you have the opportunity to attend a KJ show, or hire her for a private event, do it. You won’t regret it.
