Lafranchi’s Liquor is set up for a one way cattle run. ideally, one can only go forward no sodas, beers priced, i went back to the microbrew section; examing each bootle as to character. passed on all ales. brew: eel river«triple exultaion» 7.67 includes all fees –stout 9.7% organic brew, yummy takeouts: –no doubt cashier thought«WTH is he(me) doing but didn’t say anything. –courteous checkout.

Zero stars. Must add a star just to review but it’s worth it to tell you how shitty the place is. The guy with the curly hair and accent is rude! Wouldn’t take a Hawaii ID. Says only CA IDs can buy in CA! What a fuckin idiot. He obviously was just being a diick. $ 29 fit a bottle of Jamie? Never heard anything so foul!

Very unpleasant experience! I was very hesitant because of the store’s presentation, but I was in a rush and it was enroute to where I was going. I walked in, he turns the camera from the door to me as I asked him for a bottle of liquor. If you take a look at my picture… I look nothing like the type of person who would rob a store. I should have started video taping their bad service. He holds my id up to my face saying«78» several times and called someone else over… he did the same thing saying«78» over and over… Yes that’s my birth year. I pulled out my military id for proof… and they refused my service saying my license won’t scan. If you looked at the back of my id it didn’t take a rocket scientist to see it was damaged. Lafranchi’s is overpriced and rude plus it doesn’t look too safe. I will not return to this hideous place. Thanks to their rude service I went down the street on 35th to Lincoln Square Liquors(in parking lot next to Safeway) found the same bottle for $ 10 cheaper plus the store is bigger and CLEAN and it was a very pleasant safe experience. There is nothing nice and safe about Lafranchi’s, trust me, go down the street to Lincoln Square and see for yourself.

Its alright… good selection. I agree with Mel. H in that, if its past sunset, don’t go alone because the sketchy people in front. Its at a very convenient spot for sure.

You know, that Farmer Joe’s across the street would be PERFECT if it sold wine! It doesn’t, but that’s probably because La Franchi’s does. Being that I’m the last person who wants another liquor store in this city, I will say this is conveniently located across from a cool local healthy organic grocery store, and that by itself earns most of its stars. Also, the folks there are nice, although I’ve only been inside once because my bf makes me wait in the car when/if we have to go here. Ok, so they were nice that one time I went in. Otherwise, it’s on a well-lit, busy corner and in front of a bus stop, so I’d say that makes it pretty safe. The selection(again, from what I remember!) was also pretty good. If you’re smallish and female like me, go with a buddy or better yet a big brave bf who will get the booze while you keep the engine running.
