We contracted with Lima Peruvian Food to cater out 1st year anniversary at our office. There food was excellent and well priced. Their staff was timely and responsive. We look forward to celebrating other milestones with Lima Peruvian Food.

Yesterday turned out to be a day of Peruvian food for me. Had lomo saltado in downtown SF for lunch and thought I had seen the best of it but then I managed to stumble upon Lima for a catered dinner event… more lomo saltado(what a win!), seco de pollo, a nice quinoa salad, and that spicy sauce. Lima’s food soared above what I had eaten for lunch. Every thing had very clean, developed flavors and that spicy sauce, OMGYUM. It was all perfectly delicious! Just wish I could eat more of their food and more often. Thank you for making my taste buds smile!

I have never tasted food like this! I work in at an office in san francisco and I’ve never had lunch food this good. Prompt friendly service, and food that’s unlike anything I’ve ever tried. Chio and Chris are incredibly talented and so sweet. The lomo Salgado is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Order your next company lunch from Lima, you won’t be sorry!

I had some takeout from here and was excited to try it since I love Peruvian food and also based on the great reviews. The food was good but not great. I got to try a salad, couple of different chicken dishes, beef and veggies. The beef was the best dish and very tender. The rest were just OK I thought. BTW, what’s up with huge corn kernels, they are humungous!

They had me at beef heart. My boyfriend and I were at OTG Fort Mason and wanted to stray from the usual trucks and noticed Lima. We split the beef heart skewer that came with a side of these potato/yams and type of large-kerneled corn. The meat was tender and lathered in a delicious chili sauce. Definitely we’ll be back! It’s on the pricey side, but it all honesty, what isn’t at these food truck get-togethers?

PERUVIANSTYLEBBQSKEWERS (4 stars) BBQ& LaborDay go hand in hand. Grab your t*tties if you love hiphop. Was at a HipHop event on Labor Day in Oakland and one of the food vendors was Lima — Peruvian Food. I’ve seen this this stand at several food functions in San Francisco but was either too full to try them or just wasn’t feeling their menu. At the hiphop event, I was ready to dive into their«POLLO». HEFFER-STYLESTATUS. POLLO($ 7) — It was a bbq chicken skewer with some kind of orange sauce ontop of peruvian corn and potatoes. I love peruvian food, one of my favorite kind of foods. The chicken skewer had white chicken meat and purple onion. Not too sure the mix of the orange sauce but it also had a little bit of Chimichurri saurce with it. While eating the skewer, we noticed that our chickens were a tad bit raw in the middle and had to ask for them to be recooked a litle longer. They were nice enough to cook a brand new skewer, cooked well. It was mighty delicious. PS: one of them is from Seattle, mad props! Will I be back? I can give them another whirl or two! Unilt the next review…

My boyfriend and I are visiting some friends in San Francisco. They suggested Off The Grid. Lima was one of maybe 2 food trucks that seemed to fit my appetite. I’m so glad I chose Lima. I’ve never had Peruvian food but this was terrific. I ordered that yellowtail tuna and my only gripe is that it was cooked too well. The flavor was good and it was so fresh. The sweet potatoes tasted like they’d been roasting all day which made the texture heavenly and the flavor rich. I wish we were staying longer just so I could eat this again.

After a taste of their skewers at the Food Social, I tried them again at Off the Grid. Although the beef heart and sirloin skewers aren’t as tender as chicken hearts, I still love them with the sweet potatoes on the side. Plus, try the chicha morada juice for a refreshing drink. Service is fast and friendly. However, they don’t seem to have a set location and efficient way of taking and serving orders. I ordered the yuca croquette, but they had to refund the money after 15 minutes of not being able to start the fryer.

I spent a few months in Peru back in ’06, and have been a huge fan of Peruvian food ever since. I was really happy to find these guys at a few street food events, and always buy from them when I spot them. These folks make beautiful food, and will tide me over ’til i get the chance to go back.

Lima-Peruvian Food posts up at Off the Grid and occasionally at Art Murmur and I make sure to visit every time. The food is always fresh, delicious, and made with that tender loving care hard to find in the food truck universe at times. It’s exciting to see their menu expand and embrace even more kinds of Peruvian street food. I’m looking forward to see what they do next.
