I had Mario come out to give me a bid/assessment for a remodel. In the end we decided to hold off on the remodel, but my experience with him was very positive. We met with 6 – 7 local contractors and I felt like his knowledge and level of detail were impressive. He was also recommended by a very well regarded architect that only works with builders whose mutual goal is to execute the job at the highest level. He is the kind of guy that gets business through word of mouth and through architects, not sales pitches. If you desire low end materials and average craftsmanship for your job this is not who to contact. I am very picky and careful about who I would choose to work with and this is someone that you can trust to do a top notch job. HIGHLYRECOMMEND

I’ve known Mario since probably 1990 when I met him on a job site in the Berkeley Hills where he was the general contractor. At that time I was not yet licensed myself and was working for a roofing contractor on this project. After becoming a licensed roofing and shingle siding contractor myself in 1993 I’ve worked for Mario on many projects over the years, typically in Berkeley, Oakland and Piedmont, and have always found him to be professional, thoughtful, innovative and consistently mindful of the best approach needed to achieve great results. To do this as a general contractor is always a skill as it requires a fine balance — you’re at the center of a triangle that’s often made up of architects, homeowners and subcontractors. My experience is that he’s always been skilled, knowledgeable, fair and most importantly his efforts result in great work which is the ultimate goal. I hope to work with him on future projects.
