This is a pretty awesome store. The jewelry is all pretty large and chunky though, so that’s gotta be your style. Not a place to buy a dainty piece. A lot of it seems to be made right there, with a few cases of stuff from outside deisgners. The only annoying part were the stupid faux boho chicks shopping in there :) They needed a quick smack across the face.

The perfect boho chic jewelry. I wear her pieces in constant rotation. Gorgeous stuff that goes with jeans to dresses.

Marisa’s tiny tucked away shop packs a myriad of beautiful handmade treasures. If only I could grab everything that catches my eye… yet there is something magical and entertaining about being forced to pick my favorite — making the piece I end up taking home with me all the more special

As others have so eloquently already said, Marisa’s jewelry is beautiful and unique. I am a huge fan and was so excited to learn she has a shop in Oakland. I think what stands out to me though about her(aside from the unique designs) is that she has incredible customer service. Honestly, my experience at her shop is the reason why I will definitely be a repeat customer. I received as a gift a piece of her jewelry that was purchased from a boutique in Oakland. I saw online that she had the necklace in a different color and so I called to ask if she had it at the 49th Street location and if so, if I could come in to exchange it for the other color. She knew it wasn’t purchased at her store, but she told me, without hesitation, that of course I could exchange it. I came in, met her and was impressed with how kind she was and the effortlessness of the exchange. Though I went in to just exchange the necklace, the energy of the shop was a warm invitation to check out her pieces and I came away with a beautiful bracelet as well. Looking forward to when I have more extra cash to spend at this store! It was a wonderful experience!

My favorite designer at the moment. I love all the pieces in this store and I want to buy every single one of them. They are of good quality and unique. The pieces are on the pricey end but you know they wont tarnish within a month of purchasing. I’ve got my eye on a few pieces I’d like to take home. So excited to grow my MH collection! Check this store out when you’re in the alley!

The Temescal Alley is Like a Box of Chocolates — You Never Know What You’re Going to Get. One case in point is Marisa Haskell Design. It’s an impressively beautiful little jewelry shop with some nice artistic touches and a separate but equally attractive Web Site. Marisa’s style seems to have a graceful Southwest/Bohemian aesthetic that often features stringed together pieces that have a certain layered style that could be worn at least a few different ways. This space is also her shop, so I’m sure that individual variations are possible. This stuff is definitely up Gayle’s alley, so I’ll need to be careful…

I stopped in her gorgeous shop tonight and came out with a fantastic hand stamped brass bracelet that I am pretty sure I will be wearing every single fucking day for the next, oh, 10 years(at least). I’ve also put an alarming amount of her necklaces on my to purchase list. Serious, the ladies there were super friendly and funny and I will be back there with cash in my pocket sooner rather than later.

I made my first trip to Temescal Alley today and was thoroughly charmed. My husband and I went looking for donuts, but Doughnut Dolly was closed, so I wandered into Marisa Haskell’s studio and ended up buying two necklaces — much more satisfying and more flattering for the figure than donuts. I really loved her work. It’s a little rustic and bohemian, but still incredibly chic. It all looks homemade in a fabulous«I’m supporting a local, super talented artist» kind of way — not in a «my kid made this in home ec» kind of way. It was hard to just pick two pieces. I wanted many many more and will surely be back.

Everything Marisa Haskell creates has the most authentic bohemian beauty. Checking out her studio is really fun, especially if you go during temescal first Friday. She uses a lot of leather and metal in her jewelry and each piece is a statement. I want to go back soon!

Marisa’s tiny shop is packed with beautiful jewelry and she sits at her workbench, creating and producing while she chats — she’s very friendly and super talented. Be sure to pop in for a sense of what she has to offer — I know I’ll be back after I pay the tax man!

It’s a beautiful morning. With luck, the day will reflect its beginning. Perhaps by channeling a little beautiful energy I’ll better the odds. Whilst I was out tasting Temescal the other week with L and Buddy C. I stumbled upon Barbershop Alley. It seemed more a Diagon Alley, replete certainly with wand shops, charm stores, owl emporiums. By where I’d expect the apothecary to be is Marisa Haskell’s cupboard of magic. A space no larger than 10 by 15 fits a workbench and Marisa and perhaps three customers. The rest of you please wait outside, I won’t be long. All along the walls and other places where she can fit them are her skills on display. Mostly art to hang around a lady’s neck keeps company with other treats for a wrist and a depleted box of snakebelts. Her work is beautiful in a graceful way. Nothing overdone, all clearly carefully crafted. Reasonable priced, wonderfully proffered. Everything in her shop is beautiful. Irrespective where you happen to live, a trip to Temescal is worth it even if you’re only able to visit this one magic alley. Christmas is coming. Do something to make her happy.
