Nails On La Salle

I visited a few salons in the Berkeley-​Oakland area before coming to Cathy. Now I would go just to Cathy at Nails on La Salle. She does a great job! And she is just a very nice person to talk to. The salon has a very relaxing atmosphere with (real) armchairs, flowers, and relaxing music. You spend great time and get nice nail design! :)

Cathy did my nails a few weeks ago and I was really happy with my nails. I got a mani-​pedi and took their time and made sure they did it right. The salon is not super busy or noisy so this was definitely a relaxing time for me. Cathy was very patient with creating the design i had requested. She even tried a few times to make sure I was happy with it before she did it on all of my nails.
I recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing experience and like attention to detail. Also, they use Japanese gel which didn’t chip or turn yellow under the UV light (I tan so this is important to me). I will make sure I plan another girls day in Oakland so that I can come here and get pampered.

Ohnnmar Lee, a co-​owner, was extremely gracious with my wife, who has mild dementia. She was patient with her as they went over the various mani and pedi options. And very gentle with the filing, trimming and such. In the end my wife felt very good about the end product and Lee.
Don’t know who John N might be, but he’s right. The problem started with the appointment app. It gave us an appointment for a time and date that Lee had blocked out because she would be at convention.
Lee noted that conflict after the appointment was made and confirmed. So she attempted to contact me using her cell phone that does not have Caller ID apparently.
Since the spate of political and charity robo calls these past few months, I have a policy of not picking up or responding to unknown phone numbers. So I did not pick up Lee’s calls. She is now in my contacts list; so her number will now be recognized; there should be no future disconnects.
Ohnnmar Lee is highly recommened by me and my wife.

Oh where do I begin!!!
I’ve been following Trinny for the past five years (where I first found her in Emeryville) to when she moved to Thornhill (where I also got to meet 2 more great ladies, Cathy and Ohnmar). Now the three have a place of their own on La Salle and couldnt be happier for them! All three ladies are INCREDIBLE, but of course my loyalty stays with Trinny! She’s a true perfectionist! Her attention to detail is on point and she is always making sure you’re happy with whatever service she provides! I’m at the point where I dont even need to see what my eyebrows look like after she’s waxed them– and if you knew me, that’s a big statement– (I wave her mirror away and say «i trust you, i know it looks good»). Not only does she remember what my preferences to waxing are but also the nail shape I’d like and colors I’d be interested in! She is fun and easy to talk to! Guaranteed you’ll be happy if you come here!

I was a customer at Thornhill Salon for several years and was pretty much devastated when it changed hands and everything went downhill. I am so relieved that the ladies from Thornhill now have their own spot at Nails on La Salle. This is, hands down, the BEST mani pedi in Oakland. Come here if you want a gorgeous mani pedi that lasts from really nice people in a CLEAN environment (I’m so picky about cleanliness). I am so happy these ladies are back in business!

I have been going to the gals who own this establishment religiously for almost three years. Trinny is the best manicurist I’ve ever had. She’s a perfectionist, a sweet person and my gel manicures are picture perfect for two full weeks. They have a ton of colors and several brands/​types of polish. They use LED safe lights (no UV damage) and extremely clean tools.
Trinny is also awesome at waxing and eyebrow tinting. It’s a quiet and calm environment for getting pampered. Can’t rave more: those women are fantastic. Get there now (but don’t take my regular appointment ;-)

I’ve been with Catherine for 7 years — I think that says a lot about her skills. Trini is also very talented and the only person I let wax my eyebrows.

I am so happy that this awesome salon has opened in Montclair. The three BEST manicurists previously from Thornhill Salon — Ohhnmar, Cathy, and Trini have moved here together. It is a super clean, quiet, relaxing space. I have already had 3 of the most perfect meticulous pedicures here with Ohhnmar. She is pleasant, considerate, and a skilled artist who obviously takes a lot of pride in her work.
I hope you get the opportunity to enjoy the best pedicure you will ever have at Nails on La Salle.

Ohnmar does my nails and she definitely does a thorough job. She is great to talk to and I just feel at ease here.
I’m also pleased that they use big stainless steel bowls instead of the whirlpool spa pedicures. They also offer your nail file and buffer to bring home.
The nail colors they have here are great, young, new and refreshing. They’re the only salon I’ve seen that carry Morgan Taylor lacquer. They also have OPI and a few other brands.
Other services I found unique here (but haven’t tried yet) are foot detox salt baths and Japanese nail art in case you’re still on the fence about coming here.
It’s a nice quiet intimate space and I recommend you make an appointment in advance.
Street parking is available and they validate parking at the La Salle garage.

I just had my first mani-​pedi at this brand-​new establishment; it’s been open roughly one month. I’ve been all over Oakland for the last two years (not exaggerating) to find a new go-​to spot, as I am extremely picky, and I have definitely found it!
Catherine was amazing! The quality of the express mani-​pedi was absolutely top notch, and we had a very easy, relaxed conversation throughout. Wonderful customer service, and very hygienic practices. What I love is that it’s three independent ladies who share the space, so you’re really working with them as individual business women, not a large salon. I will most certainly be back! LOVED IT!
